Session 2;

Got absolutely crushed. Tilted a bit as a result of running bad. Overall, played B-.. It's strange that I can play 28/15/4 and run into so many bad spots..

Hand 1:

Villain is 38/16, calls super light IP, fairly aggro.

OnGame - $0.10 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha - 5 players

BTN shows J A 5 6 (Two Pair, Jacks and Sevens) (Pre 60%, Flop 81%, Turn 70%)

Yea, I think I can fold to the raise OTF OOP. Was so certain he was weighted to Ah*h**-- oh well.

bad result here, but it begs the question; should I be raising or calling the flop? I feel like when its 5-ways and he cbets, he's got 2pair+ and is almost never folding on the flop. perhaps flatting and playing IP is the best choice..

sup tyler, did not know you switched to full time PLO now. with the way you crushed live poker last time you should have a roll big enough to play at least PLO50.

PLO10 is just killing you with high rake hehe

when you planning to come back to cebu?

Hey dwyt!

Switched to PLO. Although, hoping I can play live PLO on the semi-regular.. I have a roll for PLO200, but no skills. I can't even beat PLO10 for ****s sake. 29bb/100 of rake certainly doesn't help...

Not sure if/when I'll return to cebu. Def will let you know if I do. Hope all is well on your front.

Played a terrible session this morning (slightly hung over).

It's not even worth 3betting here. If I get it in vs the top10% of hands I'm breaking even after rake. Once I get 4bet, I should fold. Pretty frustrated with how poorly I played this hand.

Pretty sure folding to his raise is reasonable. Yes this is lol weak-tight.

I'll get a better idea once I put in some more volume. It looks to be 40-50% lower based on 1,200 hands.

Played another zoom session. Liking the hands/hr. Actually at 19.7k, may be able to get to 21k by Nov 1st. (I'll shoot for 1 session tonight, 1 Oct 31st)

I'm going to do some hand analysis in November and try and focus the little time I have left in the month on getting my 21k hand goal and profit.

For some reason my HUD won't display on pokerstars zoom. Not sure if this is a mac issue or settings issue. Will try solving in a couple days.

In non-poker news;
-Mom saw a doctor today who thinks the detox/withdrawal recovery will take about 1 month.
-My flight for Vancouver leaves tomorrow. Might be delayed/post-poned again due to the storm (suppose to lay-over in Toronto which gets hit tmrw)...
-Got my double black belt on halloween.

Anyways, short session..

Edgewater doesn't have games going and I'm too lazy to travel to richmond. Instead, I grinded another zoom session. I also feel the need to document some recent thoughts on my progress thus far in regards to PLO.

I feel like RB should count towards my bankroll building. Paying 29bb/100 at ongame and breaking even vs paying far less at Pokerstars has given me this perspective... So, RB earned at PLO10 thus far is $508.47 + profit of $39.21 = $547.68, or 54 buy-ins.

6 BIs until PLO25.

Played $1/2 PLO with $5 bring-in last night. 6hour session, lost $290. Played HORRIBLE. probably the worst live poker I've played in a year. I got trappy with top set, and I called getting 3:1 vs a nit on a J73r board with KKAT + BDFD. Of course he has top set. Needed 25%, had 10%. Terrible.

Game was pretty good, though. Will def book a private room off airbnb.com for a few nights later this month and grindgrindgrind. Excited to get to whistler. Taking bus in 20minutes.

Whistler is awesome. House is decent, better than expected. Guys I'm living with are all chill. Luckily have a PLO pro/coach living here.

Played a session of PLO10/15 last night where I got sweat by DJ Ross for the first half. Ended up doing pretty well. He's much more aggro pre-flop and opened my eyes to some profitable steal opportunities.

Moving up to PLO25 today. Here is PLO10/15 since I moved up Sept 1;

Not great, ldo. However, +$508.74 in RB which brings the PLO10 total to $533.48.

I ended up paying $922 in rake over ~33k hands. 90% ongame, 10% PS. or 27.94bb/100.

PLO25 grind begins today. Stoked!!

Second session today. Played pretty well, ran a pretty big river bluff which was unsuccessful :\. Liked my line though, perhaps my sizing was a bit off.

It's close. AP he needs to fold <50% to show a profit. I was pretty sure he had a lot of 1pair hands/busted draws/pair+FD he was randomly betting the river with and would fold to a smallish raise.

Not many other interesting hands that I haven't gone over with my roomies.

Love how my run good comes right when I move up

Hmmmm, given your call preflop OOP there isn't many made hands that you can have that connect with this flop? A3 is in there. Wen you lead And then c/c turn I would assume you more likely to have a tonne of weak combo draws?

The T on the turn doesn't affect the board at all yet Go into c/c mode....it doesn't quite go IMO your line. Although against players that can't read well I think this works a heap in this spot as they don't have the 63 straight and they also can't have mean full house combos given UTG raise

Low volume day, as planned.

Played a bit on FTP, games were good. HUD wont work properly, can't import hands that go to the flop. Not going to grind much on FTP until its fixed.

Personally I think you are playing much to aggressively, for what is needed at the stakes you are playing. 10nl just play the nuts. For example I would never play hand 2 like that. You are obviously beat when he raises you pot. If you had a flush draw and kings i would snap call/raise, but all you have is KK and a gut shot. I think this is definitely an easy fold. You are behind equity wise to nearly all his range, including wraps/ wraps with flushes/ sets etc......

Hand 3 I like, just unlucky.

Hand 1, Im mixed b/w how you played it and getting it all in on the turn with the nut flush and straight. As too many scare cards can occur on the river that you hit, but prevents him from calling if he checks. For example if a club is on the river instead of a 5, he checks you bet he folds. When if you had of got it in on the turn you are ahead of him equity wise and not much chance of him folding, especially considering that its a blank, it looks very bluffy on your part, as you most likely would have raised the flop with strong set type hands.

I def get it in too light (or play too aggressively without the nuts). I have the highest agg freq of any reg at PLO10 or PLO25 this far. I know this is a leak of mine. Hand 2 illustrates this.. Its a fold vs a player that has sets in his range. If he just has 2pairs/wraps/pair+wraps/FDs I gotta get it in..

Hand 1 I am OOP. I checked the turn because of what I perceived his range to be, and what my percieved range is. I 3b 6% in general, and very little from the BB. My hand looks like very strong aces or BBBBds. He opens 11% from UTG, folds to 50% of 3bets. IMO, his range is dominated by high cards, KK**, and strong run downs. Given the board texture and our perceived ranges, I think this is a spot his range is going to be quite polarized. On the turn, I think that most of the time he will fold 0-15% equity to a raise, and I will win the pot. I'm hoping that if I call the turn, he will follow through with his bluffs @ a high freq on the river. My plan was to check/call any non-spade, non-king on the river. I think raising the turn is still a good play. It has merit because most villains at these stakes won't follow through on the river with bluffs. We had a dynamic that made me think he might bluff me on the river. Luckily, this guy did (He had KKJ9, no spades). It's interesting that AP, if he bluffed a spade or J river he would win the pot without the best hand..

Edit: aggression has its upsides, too. My W$WSF is over 47
