Played my C game today. Couple terrible spews pre-flop. I cold 4 a 9hi rundown against what I thought was a light 3b. I think I 4b/folded KK ~5 times today against players that are not exploiting me.

Yeah, I just went through some HH and I played pretty badly. Ran terrible too.

Bleh. More PLO50 tomorrow. Only moving up if I'm going to be playing well / high confidence.

Just confirmed going to Montreal for WPT at the end of the month. Going to be grinding live plo cash games April28th-~May5th.

Played better today. Made a couple bluff raises repping nothing that probably were spewy. Also made a couple nice plays and made very few large mistakes.

Got a lot of inspiration from a post that was dug up in SSPLO; http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/38..****-dr-1069907/

I'm in the process of booking vegas. I got the plane ticket for June 5th. I'm looking to save money on accommodation either by renting a house or chopping on a good value hotel on the strip. If anyone is interested or know anyone that is interested, please PM me!

man wtf is going on in this hands lol. hands 3 and 4 against the same guy i guess.

On the trup queens flop, do you prefer to call then re-eval on later streets? probably a fold if he continues aggression since it's so likely you could have a Q right?

haha yeah they are pretty ridiculous. I should have said the most bizarre hands. hand3/4 are the same guy. He likes to run ridiculous multi-street bluffs with air.

Yeah I think I should call flop, ch/f turn, ch/f river.

Really sucks to end a good day on a bad note. Only at 23k hands for the month. Gonna have to put in more than 2k a day because last 3 days I'm grinding live in MTL. I'm going to shoot for 3k tmrw.

Made a questionable 4b backraise squeeze with AKK6r;

BTN shows A K A 6 (One Pair, Aces) (Pre 43%, Flop 50%, Turn 3%)
UTG shows T 9 T 8 (Straight, Queen High) (Pre 42%, Flop 37%, Turn 94%)
UTG wins $91.10
BTN wins $38.10

UTG is opening 20% UTG, BTN appears to be a nittish reg with 4 3bets all from btn/co over a small sample. Let's assume BTN 3bet range is something like 50% AA, 40% $B$B$B$Bds, 10% JT89ds/JT76ds.

The 40% of the time he has $B$B$B$Bds Let's say 25% he folds and we win $16, if he calls or/and the other guy calls 75% we get into a slightly +EV situation because our hand owns them with SPR=.5. It would take a long time to calculate, but let's say we have a ~10% edge on flops and make less mistakes then villains, so roughly +$8.80 EV. Or .25*16 + .75*8.8 =

If he calls his J/Qds rundowns we get in a pretty neutral spot.

If he jams AA we are owned, and get it in with ~19% for the main pot and ~24% for the side pot, or (-$24.3 + .19*90) + (-$19*.76 + .24*19) =
-7.2 + -10 = $-17.2

So as far as ~EV goes: .4*10.6 + 0 + -(.5*17.2)
= -$4.35.

Yup, spewing.

It would be cool to solve for how wide his range needs to be to make it +EV..

(1-x)*10.6 - x*17.2
17.2x = 10.6 - 10.6x
27.8x = 10.6
x = 38.1%

Due to some of my assumptions and rounding I'd say its probably closer to 35% AA to be +EV. Yup, spew.

edit: also wanted to mention: Tried yoga today, was awesome. Will do again.

hey, really like your thread. best of luck to you.

The K2KA hand is pretty clear fold to the squezze imo.
I think at plo50 you should not get involved in to many all in preflop spots. because you find your edge vs players who will make mistakes postflop.

Just my 2cents here, hope you don´t mind.

Hey thanks!

Yeah I agree. I spewed in that hand. Most stakes its a fold, esp plo50 where squeezing ranges are much tighter. Btn needs to be 3betting pretty wide here for it to be +EV. (~65%+ non-AA!), or like 7.5%+. Obviously its a profitable spot to be squeezing 8%, but this nit isn't doing it

Not that I doubt you at all, just wanted a clarification on why you think it's a profitable squeeze. I guess I'm asking if it's because you can often get it HU with dead money, or if because you can win preflop (seems unlikely as you're almost never folding any hand if UTG folds, right?)

Yeah, the scenarios where I pick it up preflop is the biggest +ev factor.. $16 in the middle. It doesn't really work if someones range is 50% AA though, which is what it was.

I think I should 3b the first time around, not flat. (unless there is a crazy 3bettor behind)

Frustrating day today. Good volume and played my B-game. Got it in on the flop about 10 times in super standard spots and ran into the top of villains range so frequently. I'm not going to bother posting them, There were about 6 incidences where I got it in with <40% equity where I'm a favorite against a range. There were 0 spots where I got it in as a favorite where my range is a dog.

Doing some PT4 analysis.. It seems like I overvalue overpairs in 3bet pots with SPR is 3-25. I'm losing 220bb/100 over 802 hands in a sample of ~100k.

Also overvalue KK preflop, losing over a smaller sample/running bad, mostly when effective stacks are >50bb.

I checked out how I've been doing since I started playing PLO. I'm actually winning 7.2bb/100, +$400 total(lol) and $5000 below all-in EV . fwiw I feel like I've become a much better player in the last half of my lifetime sample, and I'm losing more. Variance is crazy in this game.

Today;

Some hands I marked:

Hand 1:

PokerStars - $0.50 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: $44.19 (VPIP: 59.65, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: 15.22, Hands: 115)

BTN: $75.06 (VPIP: 34.50, PFR: 6.59, 3Bet Preflop: 2.44, Hands: 260)
Hero (SB): $73.91

Hero posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.75) Hero has Q A A 8

fold, fold, BTN raises to $1.75, Hero raises to $5.75, fold, BTN calls $4.00

Flop: ($12.00, 2 players) 4 9 6
Hero bets $8.75, BTN calls $8.75

Turn: ($29.50, 2 players) T
Hero checks, BTN bets $20.00, Hero raises to $59.41 and is all-in, BTN calls $39.41

River: ($148.32, 2 players) 5

Spoiler:
Hero shows Q A A 8 (One Pair, Aces) (Pre 66%, Flop 39%, Turn 33%)
BTN shows K Q 9 T (Two Pair, Tens and Nines) (Pre 34%, Flop 61%, Turn 68%)
BTN wins $145.82

Villain folds 33% to cbets in 3bet pots, 40% overall. Raises flop 27%. He has 2.2 agg factor. This is over a smallish sample, so not entirely reliable.

In game I thought since he wasn't raising the flop and was calling that his range was pretty weak. I thought the part of villains range that would fold vs my turn cbet may bet/call turn-- which would be a sweet scenario. However, against a fishier player such as this I think bet/calling the turn is better. I miss too much value the time he checks behind his weak crap.

I think my line is good vs villains that raise the flop with strong holdings, float weaker and have 3+ agg factor.

Hand 2:

PokerStars - $0.50 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players

BB checks, MP checks, Hero bets $4.50, BB raises to $15.00, fold, Hero raises to $51.68, BB raises to $84.89 and is all-in, Hero calls $3.41 and is all-in

Turn: ($117.18, 2 players) T

River: ($117.18, 2 players) K

Spoiler:

Hero shows J A J 4 (One Pair, Jacks) (Pre 62%, Flop 40%, Turn 30%)
BB wins $114.68

Villain has a 1.0 agg factor postflop. I think the flop is a fold. I need ~46% equity against his range to get it in +EV.

PPT:

board: 7c3c2d
Hand Equity Wins Ties
AcJcJd4s 43.22% 2,912,548 15,595

So yeah, lost 3% on $50, or $1.50. Not a huge deal.

SB checks, Hero bets $3.50, BTN raises to $11.25, fold, Hero raises to $38.76, BTN raises to $49.00 and is all-in, Hero calls $10.24

Turn: ($103.25, 2 players) A

River: ($103.25, 2 players) Q

Spoiler:
Hero shows 4 7 A 6 (Two Pair, Aces and Fours) (Pre 44%, Flop 31%, Turn 23%)
BTN shows T J J 9 (Three of a Kind, Jacks) (Pre 56%, Flop 69%, Turn 78%)
BTN wins $100.75

This one is a fold, too. Again, need 46%, have;

board: Js2s4h
Hand Equity Wins Ties
AA:ss, KK:ss, JKsA*s, JJ, 22$ds, J42A$ss, 4356:ss, 3567:ss 58.23% 2,021,510 2,110
As4s6h7h 41.77% 1,449,900 2,110

Assuming villain never bluff raises here, or has a raise/fold range (say dry AA), its a fold. He may raise/fold rarely, or bluff raise very rarely, so I think its pretty marginal but still a fold.

Hand 4:

This hand is ridiculous:

I was playing my A-game for 95% of yesterday, very pleased with the results. Had a couple beers before I went to bed

Attention anyone looking for accommodation in vegas for WSOP;

I just paid for a vacation property ~13 minutes south of Aria. I felt this was the best option out of the 3 options I looked at in terms of value. It's a mid-to-high end place with 7/7 positive reviews. 2000sq ft with 2 master bedrooms, 1 additional BR, 3 1/2 Baths. I will be staying in one of the master bedrooms. I'm planning on renting out the 2BRs and a living area for June 6th-July6th. Rooms are $1250(master), $1000(additional), and living area is $750. I've spent a few days doing research on accommodation options and these prices are non-negoitable (research yourself). If you are interested, PM me. I have pictures of the rooms/home.
