i forgot if i already posted this before but you might like quadrophobia.com

also would you be interested in doing like a 30 min-1 hour skype (or whatever) session to talk more about preflop hand ranges in live PLO? I've now discussed in huge detail with 4 different pros now including a local who is 2 years running SNE playing $5/10 and $10/20 PLO online and also a very well-known DC coach who I won't post his identity here. They had WIDELY different opinions.

All the same guy. I don't like the last hand.. I should c/r. I thought he may give up with his bluffs on a paird board.

Where I c/r the river full pot.. I figure he never calls 2pairs and never folds sets... Maybe this is flawed logic?

Happy with my play $240 until PLO100 shot

I'm going to Vancouver tomorrow. Going to grind some live PLO on the weekend. Planning on playing ~20 hours Thurs-Sunday.

I decided to couchsurf instead of stay at a hostel. While browsing couches I came across the profile of a co-worker from about 6 years ago. Sent a message and now I'm staying at her place. Heading out tomorrow at 4:30.

I'm going to do a monthly wrap up/goal setting post on the bus tomorrow.

Before I start the wrapup/goal setting..

Hand I played from todays session that I completely butchered..

PokerStars - $0.50 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha - 6 players Hand converted by PokerTracker 3 BB: $74.88 UTG: $109.75 MP: $20.00 Hero (CO): $50.00 BTN: $107.88 SB: $82.07 SB posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50 Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero has 4 A A 7 UTG raises to $1.50, fold, Hero calls $1.50, BTN calls $1.50, fold, fold Flop: ($5.25, 3 players) 9 K 2 UTG bets $3.75, Hero calls $3.75, BTN calls $3.75 Turn: ($16.50, 3 players) Q UTG checks, Hero checks, BTN checks River: ($16.50, 3 players) 7 UTG checks, Hero checks, BTN checks

I should bet the turn when the pfr checks. UTG is unknown multitabler and BTN is 80 vpip whale. Betting turn with the intention of Vbetting some rivers and bluffing some rivers is by far the most +EV play.

Monthly wrap-up
Goals;

[ ] 30 hours live
[x] 35k hands 6max
[ ] 7%+ 3bet
[x] 40% fold to 3bet
[ ] max 2 drinks (or half pitcher) when I go out
[x] sex

30 hours of life poker was a fail. Went for 5 nights, game was only running 3, only played 2. Total of 11 hours… Way short of my goal.

I crushed my volume target. Ended with 44,500 hands played. Total of 111 PT3 hours. Even though I crushed my goal I still felt like I had way more time available for grinding. Next months goal will be tougher.

My fold to 3bet stat is based on a flawed PT3 model. Not sure how to fix it. Basically its how often I fold when facing a 3bet, regardless of my previous action. For instance, if the CO opens, btn 3bets, and I fold the SB, I have a 1/1 fold to 3bet%. I filtered for fold to 3bet after I raise first in, and my fold to 3bet % is ~22%-- much more reasonable.

My 3bet % goal was almost attained. Total 3bet % was 6.72%.

My only two drinks when I go out rule was broken once. It was worth it. Saved ~$100 on less partying this month.

I finally got laid.

On a side note, I’m <$100 away from PLO100. I want to move up after I play a few good PLO50 sessions so that my confidence is high. I seem to think that players are raising light at PLO100 compared to PLO50 and get it in lighter. I’m going to have to nit it up in the early stages to counter this inclination.

Results:

Goals for February.

[] 45k hands
[] 25 hours live
[] 3bet 7-8%
[] btn vpip 38-40%
[] Finish month @ PLO100
[] Only order more than one drink once per week.

So, played 5 hours, lost $1,200. Only two interesting spots, everything else was super standard.

Spot 1:

straddle, 2 limpers, hero limps ATT4ds in CO, btn limps.

Flop ($60):

3 3 3r

checks through..

Turn ($60)

Tr

checks to bad lappy player in MP who bets $30, hero calls, btn makes it $60.

bad lappy player calls, I tank call.

River ($240)

2

check, check, btn bets $240 with a trembling voice and shaking hands.

Hero.. folds.

Btn just sat down 2 orbits ago. mid50s. Showed me how he flat called a raise with AAss on the btn and folded the flop on a dry board.

When I folded Villain snap mucks by pushing his cards into the muck. He asks what I have, I tell him. He asks how I could fold and then tells me I was good he had JJ. He spent the next 5 minutes making frustrated grunts.

Spot 2:

2 limpers, hero dealt QJT9ss and raises to $25 in CO, btn calls, 2 limpers call.

Flop ($105)

Q Q 3d

checks to hero, hero bets $55, whale calls (KK/Q***)

Turn ($215)

Ad

Villain checks, hero ? bets $80, villain calls.

Wasn't sure what to do here. He's got a pretty wide limping range preflop. Could have 55-KK with a Q, Q456 type hands, AQ44, etc. I bet smallish for value/to protect from river bluffs.

River

9d

Villain checks, hero checks

Villain shows KQT2ss, and wins.

Other hands aren't so interesting. Got into a 3b pot with KK45ds, Flop comes K 7c 2c, I pot the flop, fish calls, turn is 5c. I have under a pot sized bet left. he check, I check. River is Ac, he pots, I fold. Claims to have 77 after he mucks. (lol)

When my stack dwindled to $500 I 3bet AAT9ds pre, got it in on a 67Jr flop against KK** and AQ89ss. AQ89ss won.

I've noticed a bunch of PLO100 regs playing PLO50 on stars lately. Bad news. They seem to be good

Couple nitty spots from this mornings session;

PokerStars - $0.50 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BB: $77.46
Hero (UTG): $50.00
MP: $35.19

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero has J K 3 K

Hero raises to $1.50, fold, CO calls $1.50, BTN calls $1.50, fold, fold

Flop: ($5.25, 3 players) T 3 2
Hero bets $3.50, fold, BTN calls $3.50

Turn: ($12.25, 2 players) K
Hero bets $7.00, BTN calls $7.00

River: ($26.25, 2 players) A
Hero checks, BTN bets $12.50, fold

Spoiler:
BTN wins $25.07

I couldn't figure out what to do here. I think c/f is best. He could have QJwith hearts, easily could have 456. If he had Axxxh he's always going to check the river, mostly with 2 pairs.

I don't think I beat any of his value hands. Seeing him show up with KQ/AK or a small set here.. that would be really strange. The only bluffs that makes sense are middling hands with hearts something like TJ9hh. Would also expect to see ~2/3 as a standard bluff on the river, not <1/2 pot. Only having to be good here 23% is a good argument to call.. some unknowns may just randomly click buttons and bet small with MSDV on the river.

Second hand:

Villain is 80/0 fish over 20 hands. 0 agg freq (has not bet yet)

PokerStars - $0.50 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha - 6 players

CO: $30.65

Pre Flop: ($1.25) Hero has 9 J J 7

fold, MP checks, CO calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, fold, BB checks

Flop: ($2.25, 4 players) Q 6 3
BB checks, MP checks, CO checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($2.25, 4 players) J
BB checks, MP checks, CO bets $1.00, Hero raises to $4.50, fold, fold, CO calls $3.50

River: ($11.25, 2 players) 8
CO checks, Hero bets $5.50, CO raises to $11.00, fold

Spoiler:
CO wins $21.25

5:1 on river.. maybe can call and hope this passive fish made a misclick?? Seems like T9 ~every time. I can't see him min raising a busted FD as a bluff here-- anyone?

edit: I dislike my sizing on the river. He either has 2 pair/set and is calling, nothing and is folding, or a straight and is c/r'ig (but I think he leads pot with a straight with a high freq)

Close spot.. He almost never has TT unless its TTAKds or TT22-TT55. Never has QQ unless its AQQxas.. Figured most of his range was flushes that would fold to a raise on the river.

Ran good today

I'm pumped for vegas plo cash games. I'm going to be there for all of June. Any chance of switching to PLO for wsop?

First couple PLO100 sessions went well. Played like a super nit for the first session, managed to win a few BIs. (fold to bet ~65% )

Second session I loosened up and spewed a couple stacks...

Just played atrociously. Bluff catching aggro regs in terrible spots.. Burned about $200. Too embarrassed to post the spews on here. Ugh..

Edit: I'm trying to figure out why I played so bad. I faced an absurd amount of raises (to which I folded 80%+), and I felt like players started bluff raising me because I was folding so much to raises. However, no one player was raising with high frequency. Pretty sure I just ran into the nizzles a bunch..

I then started calling down super light because I thought I was being exploited. Turns out they just had it every time. Have to avoid leveling myself. There is no way a bunch of 6-10tabling PLO100 regs started bluff raising me in unison because they noticed I was b/f'ing a lot. They just had it.

Those days suck. And no, maybe 1 or 2 at every table will notice you fold to a lot of raises and start bluffraising you or raising you lighter. You are not getting exploited by 5 people at the same time at 100PLO, that's for sure.

Villain has ~18% open utg, folds a lot to 3bets.. He has mostly high card Run-downs here, so this flop crushes his range. I checked because I was afraid of getting c/r'ed. The flop is horrible. I mis-valued my hand. Against wraps I'm ahead, and I'm barely behind Q9.

board: Qs9d4c
Hand Equity Wins Ties
JT97+$ss 43.57% 83,813 4,583
KsKcJs4d 56.43% 109,224 4,583

Overall I'm pretty far ahead of his continuing range. I should always bet/call this flop. AP I think shoving turn is better than flatting. AP I like folding river vs this guy (fairly nitty postflop).

Second biggest mistake:

Yeah, but its 100% cbet/gii. Misplayed that one.

Just split action on a bunch of PLO hypers. Up a couple hundred.

Got two prop bets in the works;

$60 on PT3 coming out before July 16th
12 dead hang chin-ups within 7 weeks. (can do 6 now)

Ugh, just played a B-game session. Managed to turn into one of the biggest losing sessions ever... Got semi tilted about half way through. EV line took a massive beating though. Maybe ~$100-150 in spews.

PLO100 shot is going horrrrible.

$200 away from moving back down to PLO50.

Did a session hand review with roommate. Consensus is that I'm playing my B game, running atrociously.

Actually thought I played quite well.. Sucks that all-in EV was essentially break even.

Will find some hands to post in a bit
