Played another 2k+ day. 4 sessions, about 6 hours of play. Played alright. Made a couple ******ed river calls facing pot sized bets with the near nuts...
Only played one session today, 700ish hands. Woke up late, went skiing, got back late and napped. Was planning on playing 2k hands, but decided against it when I saw that the games sucked.
Disappointed with what happened today. I should have played the "bad" games. I am playing PLO micro/small stakes to get better, not to win money. I shoot down the chance to play in reg-fested games. These are exactly the types of games I should be playing to try and improve my game.
Anyways, the games were reggy.. I played super aggro, ran some crazy bluffs. One 100bb bluff was pretty bad, but the rest were mint.
5.6k hands on month, 8.5 buyins until I take another PLO100 shot.
How much u need in ur roll for a shot on plo100, and how many buyins will you set aside for the shot?[/QUOTE]
Roll is around 25k, so I could play PLO100 comfortably.. However, my BR strategy will let me take another shot once I win 20BIs at PLO50. Right now I've won 5, so 15 to go. Then I take a 10BI shot at PLO100.
Yesterday there was a decent chance I would shot take soon.. but today I played pretty bad, ran into ****ttty spots, and lost big.
Ran bad EV and situationally, but frustrated, made sub-par triple barrels vs fish. The calls the fish were making were absolutely hilarious, though... sigh.
Played 3 long sessions today. Played well aside from ~100hand stretch at the end of the second session where I spewed off 2 stacks on blocker bluffs vs unknowns.. Certainly a leak of mine is fighting for potsvs unknowns with blockers..
Yeah, pretty bad. Need to stop running huge bluffs vs unknowns.
I've managed to get my 3b % up to 6.5%, and my fold 2 3bet down to 60%... Still some improvements needed, obv. Playing 28/20/6.5 so far this month. cbet is a bit too high @ 80%.
10% on what sample ? because that's definetly very big )))
and also, lag is much more fun :P
Sample is this month, 9k hands. Yes, LAG is more fun I'm sure.
Al-righty. I am in desperate need of some review. I'm getting crushed this month-- and Its not entirely because of variance. I knew that a "down-swing" was inevitable.. so here it is. Sadly, I'm handling it horribly.
I was +$1200 earlier this month, now I'm -$500, for a grandswang of $1700 (mostly at PLO50). It doesn't help that I'm almost $1,000 under all-in EV on the month, but I know this isn't the biggest problem. The problem is my B-game play when I'm losing.
I'm losing confidence in my decisions, and getting frustrated when I make the correct play and lose. I find myself stabbing when I shouldn't, and barreling off in bad spots.
I'm going to take 1k hands of my volume target for today and focus on reviewing big pots played over the last few sessions. This is going to be a ~2hour analysis and will result in a wall of text. Any feedback is awesome..
Hand 1;
Both players are fish. btn is a bit aggro postflop..
River:($37.75, 2 players) Q Hero bets $25.00, BTN calls $24.94 and is all-in
Spoiler:
Hero shows T Q 8 A (Three of a Kind, Queens) (Pre 60%, Flop 63%, Turn 50%) BTN shows 2 2 Q 6 (Full House, Queens full of Sixes) (Pre 40%, Flop 37%, Turn 50%) BTN wins $85.13
Both players are fish. btn is a bit aggro postflop, has 4/5 fold to cbet so far..
Wasn't sure if I should cbet in this spot or not. I think its okay. I often have the best hand, and I can bet for value/protection. If I get c/r'ed I'm not folding away much equity.
The turn is a blank, I probably still have the best hand, and now I have no idea what to do... I bet an amount that I thought would fold out pair+straight draws, maybe btm two pair. Against a looser more passive player I think its best..
No idea what to do on various rivers here. I think jam a non heart queen, ace, or 7. c/f 5,6,8,9,t,j, c/c 2, 3, 4..
Hand 2:
This hand was played like ****. Villain is 80/20, pretty passive postflop.
fold, CO calls $0.50, fold, SB raises to $2.00, Hero raises to $6.50, fold, SB calls $4.50
Flop:($13.50, 2 players) 4 8 3 SB checks, Hero bets $9.25, SB raises to $40.64, Hero raises to $43.50 and is all-in, SB calls $2.86
Turn:($100.50, 2 players) Q
River:($100.50, 2 players) 7
Spoiler:
SB shows 9 3 8 Q (Two Pair, Queens and Eights) (Pre 37%, Flop 71%, Turn 80%) Hero mucks K K T J (One Pair, Kings) (Pre 63%, Flop 29%, Turn 20%) SB wins $98.00
I think vs a player that isn't aggro post-flop and capable of c/r;ing 8*** here I have to fold to the c/r. I also don't like my sizing. Given my sizing he is either going to c/r a pair+draw, 2pair, or set, or fold his 99-QQ and air. I think $7 would be better on this flop texture.
Pokertrack keeps freezing, I had another hand where I had JJA7 on a QJ6ss flop, and faced a raise from a passive player. Should have mucked, but stacked off. Had ~30%(+-5%) vs a passive players raising range.
Few other sub-par spews over the past few days... Bleh. Gotta stop getting it in light OTF.
hand1: seems ok. i don't mind a c/shove turn also.
hand2: i'd bet smaller otf (~6ish) and obv fold to raise
hand3: yeah, 5b jam
hand4: same like hand2, bet smaller and fold to raise. especially since you say he's ABC
Sucks to hear about the downswing dude. Sounds like its time for a 2 week break from online poker and to meet me in vancouver to grind live plo. Are you going to be back home over xmas?
very cool thread, subscribed and following. good luck
Thank you sir! These days it does feel like I could use some luck.

Yeah, agreeed except for hand 2.. villain is passive and loose. best method to exploit is by charging the max for draws. but yeah, fold to raise.

Your going for 2 weeks? I'm planning on going Dec26-30. What are you planning for accommodation? Throw me a msg on fb. That said, staying here for xmas.
Bombed mountains for a few hours today, napped, then grinded a pretty long session. Played my A- game.
A few of the bigger pots that were interesting;
Hand 1:
villain is loose aggro. I don't think he has any air in his range when he raises the flop.
fold, CO raises to $1.75, fold, Hero calls $1.50, BB raises to $7.00, CO calls $5.25, Hero raises to $28.00, BB calls $21.00, CO calls $21.00
Flop:($84.00, 3 players) 2 7 8 Hero bets $22.00 and is all-in, BB calls $22.00 and is all-in, CO calls $22.00
Turn:($150.00, 3 players) Q
River:($150.00, 3 players) T
Spoiler:
Hero shows A T J K (One Pair, Tens) (Pre 45%, Flop 15%, Turn 8%) BB shows 4 7 6 8 (Flush, Queen High) (Pre 24%, Flop 20%, Turn 32%) CO shows 8 7 7 6 (Three of a Kind, Sevens) (Pre 31%, Flop 64%, Turn 60%) BB wins $147.50
Wasn't sure if back raising or flatting was best pre.. I liked backraising because I thought some % I win the pot, and I'm ahead of both villains ranges. I also take away any positional disadvantage I have post-flop. The downside is that my equity is ~30% if I face a 5bet.
Hand 4:
Butchered this hand. Should 4bet preflop. Villain is raising about 25% and will flat everything except AA** to my 4bet.
In game I was thinking I didn't want my hand face up oop with 200bb.. but I think this stack depth It's still okay to 4bet. Any time I can 4bet and get the SPR<3 with dry KK/AA, I should.
Between skiing and partying, I've been slacking on the pokers this last week. It's been dumping snow and the mountain conditions have been stellllar. Fortunately for me, this is the christmas vacation week coming up and the slopes will be swamped. For the rest of the month I'm going to cut down on skiing, and drink less when I party.
Found a 60% RB deal at iPoker, will try grinding with the iNits. Getting ~15% RB on stars is crushing my income. My roomie has highly recommending grinding on lock, but I can't run that **** on my mac. Pretty frustrating.
Played 7 hours last night. Games were so good. Average vpip in 50-55% range. I tightened up my bluffing range, and started 3betting and 4betting value hands with impunity. Managed to donate a few BIs to the fish.
Still made a few stupid turn bluffs with little equity, but played pretty good. I'd say overall played my B game, but was playing well for a few hours. Kept playing because I was sure my B game was still profitable at the fishy games.
UTG calls $4.00, Hero raises to $16.00, fold, BTN raises to $58.00, fold, fold, UTG calls $54.00, Hero calls $42.00
Flop:($180.00, 3 players) A 5 9 UTG checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $177.20, UTG calls $177.20, Hero raises to $364.29 and is all-in, BTN raises to $551.38, UTG calls $126.03 and is all-in
Turn:($1211.81, 3 players) 6
River:($1211.81, 3 players) 9
