All the hands are super standard imo.. So the continuing trend wasn't a result of me spewing (today at least)

This was the most interesting hand of the session;

I flatted the flop intending to fold on any club or ace turn. I could only put villain on KK**, AA**cc, KTcc, KTQJ. Yes, narrow, but the only hands which fit his profile and the action preflop/OTF. It turns out I was exactly right and played perfectly.

Hand2:

This one I was a bit lost. Villain is 16/16 over 70 hands. Agg freq of 71 (insanely aggro over a short sample).

I put him on a busted diamond draw. I suppose 2**dd was possible... or in this case, KK2*.

Right. So this is from The mental game of poker. It's called the process model and its reckoned to be the most effective way to learn;

1. Preparation/Warm-up: What you do before you play. Whether it’s planned, random, or nothing at all, it’s how you prepare.

Sit up straight, take 20 deep breaths.
While breathing; Review short-term and long term goals. Remind myself of biggest mistakes.

Realistically, should take ~1minute.

2. Performance: Playing poker.

No skype. No 2+2. Try to minimize youtube music/itunes.

3. Results: The outcome of your play.

Post on 2+2 or check PT3.

4. Evaluation: A review of your results right after playing.

Grab a coffee, look over key hands

5. Analysis: Actively working to improve your game away from the table.

Post hands, analysis. Go over leaks, try and improve game.

So after each step in the model I indicated my strategy. I'm doing 2-5 for 80% of sessions. Going to add the warm-up and try to be even more consistent with 2-5.

Session 2:

In life: Flying to Vancouver in a week. I'm gonna grind the live PLO for a couple days, then go to my new house in Whistler. Will probably make a second trip to Vancouver in Early November for the WSOP circuit events. Whistler->vancouver is 2 hours by bus, $13.

Looks good man, with your graph pattern a warm up will hopefully help get off to a better start. Maybe review a couple hands just before a session, do need to be tricky spots just any hands to get into the rhythm?

Kepp us updated on how your going with it

#1: would have checked the turn. people are often slowplaying the nuts in this spot and not many hands that we can get value from with top2.
#2,3,4: standard.
#5: i'd fold the river. all you have is a bluffcatcher and i'd rather wait for a better spot to take his stack. also, what's his river agg freq ? it's more important than overall AFq because if he's a total spaztard on flop/turn but a nit on the river, it's an easy fold.

I do try to get in PLO-mode before I play. As in, read 2+2 and give PT3 a peak. I struggle readless.

I tend to avoid getting into hands unless I have some read. Example; CO opens, I have AKT5as on the btn. Against most villains (opening >15% in CO) this is a std 3bet for me. readless, I flat.

#1, meh, even against the nuts we have 12-16 outs. I think he could easily have bottom J7/76 or a pair+NFD.
#5 Yeah.. I think the std is fold OTT or OTR. The hands we have on him don't mean that much-- I think the sample was like 50 hands at the time I played the hand. I think he had bet 2/2 rivers..

First session;

Yeah.. Got in some ****ty spots with low SPRs..

Hand 1:

By far the most interesting hand. All villains involved are fish.

OnGame - $0.10 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha - 6 players

Hero (BB): $23.88

Flop: ($8.40, 4 players) 2 5 4

Turn: ($25.98, 2 players) T

River: ($25.98, 2 players) 8

Spoiler:
Hero shows 8 8 A A (Three of a Kind, Eights) (Pre 67%, Flop 8%, Turn 0%)
CO shows K J 3 6 (Straight, Six High) (Pre 33%, Flop 92%, Turn 100%)
CO wins $24.25

The flop I almost timed out, at first I thought to give up.

It's 4 ways, fairly coordinated, and light. Then I thought, I have A3 blockers, and a backdoor FD.. Also, how many combos of 36 are there going to be in a 3b pot? Plus, I may even get worse to call. One of these fish may call KK** one street. I went for just under half pot, intending to fold getting 2.5:1 if the last guy jammed it.

After I bet, the passive fish who overcalled the 3b snap jams all in. I need 20% equity to call.

board: 2c4d5s
Hand Equity Wins Ties
AcAd8c8 24.60% 147,591 68
36**, A3**, 22**, 44**, 55**, 24**, 25**, 45**, 267*, 467*, 567*, 678*, 67QQ, KK5* 75.40% 452,341 68

So yeah, have to call. He just so happened to have 63** with 3 backdoor club blockers. What a joke.

Hand 2:

This has happened to me 3 times this week.

pre/flop are standard. Turn is a small mistake. This loose passive fish is never folding a Q, I should always pot the turn here.

^.^

Yeah so biggest pot of the session was a marginal hero call. Sucks I had the Kh in my hand, that alone almost made me fold.

Also had 2 hands where I had a SPR~1 with AA/KK and jammed the flop running into the nuts each time.

#1 i'd rather not cbet that board into 2 people
#2 it's fine i guess. although i really dislike the big bet on the river when people usually c/c a flush in this spot or bet smaller. and they rarely triple barrel a paired board without a fh
#3 definetly fold river.
#4 he doesn't repp much. he would've bet any A on the flop. probably raised turn with a straight or set. so it's a clear call, especially against a lagtard. like the check to induce.

Played 2 session today, played very poorly.. I give my sessions a D+

I made a stupid river c/r bluff with the nut blocker.. Lost a stack.

Then, I made a stupid 4b pre with KK74ss when a aggro monkey with 20% 3bet on the button 3bet the button. He 4bet and I called getting 2.2:1. AA7Q with dominated suits-- obv. Didn't think you could get it in with less than 26% equity preflop in PLO? Think again.

The biggest pot I won was a marginal shove...

Basically the SB is a 80/20 fish. The btn is 30/20/6 regular. I know he's not going to pot it here with a set because he wants me and/or the fish to call. When he pots I put him mostly on flush draws and 2pairs, some air. Once the fish calls there is too much money for me to fold..

Anyways, I just standard shove kings against short stackers that aren't 100% nits. This guy was 40/8/5 over 50 hands. I need ~44.8% equity to call here.

Omaha Hi Simulation ?

Confidence is shaken in my PLO game. Going to do some quick review of areas I need to improve on (ABC stuff) and fire up a few tables.

Thx for the support guys!

So my mom had a grand mal seizure, and a big one at that. Screamed, fell backwards, started convulsing/shaking/puking, started choking on her own puke/blood, foamed white ****. Pretty sure she nearly died in front of my eyes. I might have saved her life by catching her/scooping puke. Anyways, I've spent the last few days nursing her. Nursing is very consuming work/sucks... A hired nurse comes in tomorrow, thank god.

Thankfully, I'll be able to get back to playing poker. I'm quite anxious to play poker. I'm not sure how you define an addition, but if I'm not addicted to poker, it's got to be something very close (very passionate?). I haven't played since Oct 19th-- which happens to be the longest dry stretch since I went to China over 7 months ago.

Over the next hour I'm going to review some hand histories from the last 2 sessions/review major leaks/major areas of improvement. Later tonight I'll try to get in a PLO10/PLO15 session. (If Ongame traffic permits)

Should I b/f the turn? The J absolutely smashes his pfr/c, c/c flop range. I figure all is QQ**/KK** folds this turn, only get value from 2 pairs. Once I get raised OTT, is folding an option? If I put him on TT/JJ/89, I get 3:1 and its a fold. Anyways-- don't think I made any big mistakes in this hand.

Thoughts on the turn? Is this just a standard barrel? I figure all his 7x 3x hands are almost dead, and he's almost always going to bet/call clubs.. Standard is to barrel here vs a loose villain aggro villain, but figured c/r might be best here considering I'll be c/f'ing a lot with AK here..
