Unfortunately looking like it might be cutting it to close to get my passport sorted out, but gonna take reserves in case I'm able to get it in time. Haven't been out of the country besides a couple trips that barely count imo, so should be a fun trip/experience if i can make it.

My cousin just went to ireland so hopefully she can tell me what is "can't miss" stuff since I'll be spending a chunk of the trip playing poker. I may also check out Germany/Italy/Amsterdam but that's gonna depend on if my other buddy ends up coming along.

I'm a live 5/10 NL reg, my hourly is ~$100/hr @ live game that I play , 40 hrs a week.

I am wondering if it's possible to make $100/hr playing on Bovada ?

Is there anyone making 100+/hr @ Bovada ? If so, what stakes are u playing to achieve that rate?

Yes. When you factor in expenses into that live $100/hour you probably are doing about the same as a good 2/4 reg. If you are good enough to play 5/10 on bovada you should def beat your 1 tabling live hourly.

Thanks for the reply.

What does a good 2/4 nlhe reg make per hour on bovada ?

In order to make $100/hr , would one have to play higher than 3/6? Would 5/10 be the lowest stake where a good reg can avg. 100/hr ?

Thanks

The hourly a reg is making will vary a lot based on a lot of factors so I can't really give a firm answer here. Yes, to make $100+/hr you'd most likely need to be playing 5/10+ and be a solid winner in the games. gl

Might be playing an event at foxwoods:

Things have been going really well so far this year. Life is really good, poker is going really good. Sometimes I feel like maybe reviving the thread, but we'll see. The non instant hh of bovada makes it more annoying to do hh updates in the thread imo so I find updates more boring. We'll see. WSOP time coming up soon and scoop nj events. so maybe that will be interesting.

Whoops only took me 13 months to come give the update. Not reviving the pgc but figured I might as well pop in for an update. I actually do miss updating so maybe I'll make a new pgc at some point potentially. I guess I'll update in 2 parts, poker and life.

Poker

2017 for poker was pretty meh. I made some money but the volume was really lacking. Crypto was a big part of this. I made a pretty nice amount off crypto and after a decade + of a lot of poker every day I was feeling the burnout of nlhe a fair bit. I ended up playing a fair bit of mixed games last year as opposed to nlhe which was great. I've mentioned it in here before but I love playing mix so much more than straight nlhe. If I could just play 10game mix every day for decent stakes that'd be wonderful. Unfortunately that doesn't really exist on US sites and there's not even much mix going on stars nowadays from what I've seen/heard. I played some big mix cash at wsop last summer which was super fun and I intend to play a decent chunk of it again this summer. I played a couple sessions of 200/400 mix at bellagio and one super fun session of 100/200 mix at aria and then played some straight nlhe/stud8/lower mix the rest of the time. Unfortunately got the stupid flu or something while I was there which ruined a fair bit of the trip having to rest, hopefully can fade that this summer.

2018 for poker has been going really really good. I started putting in decent volume again at nlhe at the end of last year and things have been going really well. Been playing mostly on the chinese apps with a bit of ignition. I feel like I've been playing some of the best poker I've ever played for the most part and so far the winrate/winnings has reflected that which is nice. I've been keeping my eyes out for any good opportunities though to maybe find someone to work with on the game theory side of things. It's kind of a weird spot to be honest because it's a little hard to find a situation that's worth it. I have a high winrate in the games I'm playing and therefore it's tough to know how much room there is to grow it. There is for sure plenty to improve upon but it comes down to whether the amt of time/money you invest into it works out to more than just spending that time grinding and working on things yourself. It's also tough to know what the picture of online poker is in the future and unfortunately that greatly affects the ev of it. But yeah so intention for 2018 is to continue working really hard and putting in the volume and hopefully make lots of money. Really looking forward to wsop and getting in some more mix cash play.

Life

Life has been great overall. Some big things have happened in the last year in that I got engaged to my girlfriend, we bought a condo, and we got a puppy. Getting married in October so have had lots of stuff to do in terms of planning for that. Finally got most of the bigger stuff out of the way so it'll be pretty calm til we get closer now. Owning the condo has been great. It's a great neighborhood and the condo is nice with lots of space. Would prob move towns way down the line but def could start a family here. So weird being in this stage of life, and funny when you think back to how you view things when you are younger. Like when I was in high school and I'd look at a 29 year old it all seemed so grown up and like they have everything figured out, but you get to this age and you realize no one at any age knows completely what's going on and is just figuring it out as they go.

Most importantly, the puppy is great. He's only 3 months old so he can be a bit of a pain sometimes with the chewing and having some accidents in the house but overall he's super smart and a great pup. We named him Oliver, Ollie for short.

That's about it. Gl all out there still grinding in 2018!

Yeah! Being from Southern CT basically everything around (PA, NY, CT, NJ casinos) are generally the same time but I'm mostly at Mohegan these days. I applaud you guys for your online work, mostly because I'm always sketched out leaving too much $$ on those unregulated sites. I was wondering if we'd played together but the 95% online number makes it possible that we haven't.

Totally hear what you're saying about mixed games. Wish there was more availability online or live. FW gets a 150/300 game going decently often, but not exactly the ideal stakes ^_^ lol.

Nice yeah I'm in CT too but closer to hartford. Foxwoods and mohegan are both like an hour so not really worth it most of the time since it's a lower hourly and expenses/waste of time getting there. Once mgm springfield opens I'll prob play a bit more live if 5/10nl or a decent sized non nlhe game runs there. I doubt we've played together since I've only been down there like once in the last 6 months. Have you been grinding many years over there?

Yeah I noticed that 150/300 going and was prob gonna hop in it today but my friend had to cancel meeting up so not gonna bother now. Prob be down there at some point soon though and that's likely what I'll play, although I'd much prefer it to run at 75/150ish instead. It's def tough to be a mixed reg these days as for example at foxwoods you'd have to go from grinding 20/40 stud to grinding 75/150. For someone who grinds live like yourself though I think it's a huge asset to be able to hop in any game type that runs when it's where the fish are that particular night.

basically since the beginning of 2016. Not sure I'd be a favorite in those 20/40+ Stud H only lineups, definitely would if it was 1/2 Stud H and H/L. How are the Stud H only lineups generally? I'd think that by now in 2018 there wouldn't be too many Stud recs left?

Thx! I should go back and reread it myself, don't think I've ever done it and prob one of coolest things about pgc is to be able to go back and have a record of what you were doing/thinking at the time.

Don't remember if I said congrats in your thread or not, so in case I didn't congrats on the circuit run, rough finish but still a nice result!

I've only played it a handful of times but it's pretty much what you'd expect. Lotta older guys who have been playing a long time for fun and aren't great but not necessarily punting. Higher hourly in a 2/5 prob. Def still some recs who wanna play stud out there though, particularly on the east coast.
