Hey guys, its been a while. Since last update I traveled with some friends, didnt play much poker. I think I played around 10 hours since last update, and I am confident in saying that this 10 hours have been the worst I have ever run in such a short period of time. Currently I am on a -$800 downswing, which doesnt sound like much but it is one of the worst I had playing the stakes I do. I can't blame it all on variance, I am not playing exceptionally well.
I have come to a point where I am a bit tired of online poker. Its been around 2 years now that Ive been playing only 25-50nl fr zoom with the ocasional mtt, and the ocassional live session, and I am starting to be a little bored. At the moment I have no motivation to play online whatsover, in a way that is good, since I have my final exams in a month and I will start to study BIG time on monday.
HOWEVER, during my trip with friends I played some live poker, and I got to be honest that I really want to give it another shot. Last summer, in august, I gave myself a £2,000 roll for live cash game 1/2. I just dived right in and didnt adjust well enough, I didnt understand how bad these players were at that point, and just played really bad. After losing a little over £800, I decided to stop and go back to online. Fastforward to today, I made about £12,000 online since then. I don't want to say I regret playing online, it is SO much more conveniant during the year, however I do regret not giving live a serious shot, actually studying ranges and such.
So why am I saying all of this? After I finish my exams, I will have almost 4 months of summer vacation, and this time around I really want to give live poker a serious shot. I do spend a lot of money (even though poker isnt my main source of income I do use the money I make sometimes), and today I am left with $2,500 online and £3000 which I will attribute as my live bankroll.
Until April 25th, I won't play a hand of poker, I will simply study hard for my exams and also study live poker. On April 26th I will have 6 days to play live, and I will log at least 40 hours during that time period. Depending on how it goes (not results wise but how I feel about grinding live cash games), I will decide on how to proceed. If things go really wrong and I just hate it, I will go back to online and grind out $15,000 during the summer and give 6max a shot. If things go well, I will play a hell lot in August/September and try to build a good bankroll for bigger live games.
I like keeping a blog here and will keep updating on how things are going, posting hands and sessions updates. Hopefully, will be able to post a few chip porns
. Enough rambling, thanks for reading
