Today I'm gonna study a bit/ relax/ get some work done around the house and tomorrow starts the weekly grind. I only have $93.88 to rake left to hit silver status which im pumped about. Will increase RB a bit. I'll study some spots from yesterday and post anything worthy.

Today back on the grind. Turned out yesterday it was tough for me to sleep so I studied a lot in like 2 hours. All basic spots that turn out a lot in 6/7/8/10 big blinds against early position/mid position shoves against tight/loose regulars.

Had to do a bunch of yard work and random **** so got a late start. Just played a monster sesh to make up for some lost tiime. Going to eat and play a short one then ill update. Prob looking at 65 today if all goes as played maybe a few more. Had a decent sesh just now so Im gonna take one $25 shot tonight. Lets goooooo.

Did a reasonable amount of studying today between that and yard work held me back in getting in 3 of my regular sessions but still did good regardless.

We back from the downer lets gooooo

Had originally planned on putting in alot of volume today around the range of 80-90 but got a headache might be from the heat today so studied a lot of ICM spots just had dinner and starting the grind late again today. Prob aiming at 60 today and if I feel better later will extend the session out a bit to hit 70-75.

Cut that session a bit short trying to do a monster sesh of 3-3.5 hours but cut it to 2.5 hours cause I was playing like shiet and I was getting on edge easily. Doesnt help that the AC is broken and heat is getting to me. Going to clear my head take a long break and study some more then do another session. Don't care how many I play today just as long as I play 1 more session with a clear head and make good decisions thats all Im concerned about. Despite how I sound I was still profitable that session but I know I wasn't playing my best.

Really tired, gonna pass out after this update. Felt I played pretty well MUCH better than my first session but damn I ran like dogshiet. Worst session since this quarantine. Luckily I shipped the only $25 I played which helped tremendously otherwise I would be down close to 15 Buy ins probably. I lost first 14 sngs I played shipped the $25 and lost close to every flip and to end my session to no surprise I lost KK<QJo heads up w/ even stacks. Tomorrow is a new day. BUT the takeaway is I finally hit Silver Status and im pumped about the additional rakeback.

The games are great aside for the $25s. Only play them at night cause during the day it’s full of regs.

Thx man. That person that used to tilt from downswings used to be me and used to crush me bad. Anyone can ride out running good but you get to see what a player is made of when things aren’t going good imo.

I'm trying to make it a habit to post more content to keep things exciting. It's difficult being that I grind SNG's and lower limits playing ABC is the best strategy. Here is a hand from a $25 SNG that was an unusual play. Keep in mind I played it this way because of the stakes I was playing against a competent opponent. I would never make this play on lower limits. Checking could be fine too.

I was playig 10 tables at this point and saw my hand and thought HJ called so I hit call while looking at a different table then realized what happened but I would of called regardless not that it changes anything. Its a dicey spot. Maybe fold is best, unsure.

If river wasn't 2 I prob would have bet pot size I think it would accomplish the same result an saves extra chips if hes on top of his range like a set etc but given the river card I would play a flush the same exact way

Forgot to add in today is gonna be low volume. After yesterday shiet show plus making silver status giving myself some room to jus chill play a few sngs and play a bunch of MTTs today.

Today is very nice out and took the dogs on a few long walks gave them both a bath then had them outside when I did a quick arm workout. Felt nice to workout again it’s been like 6 weeks.

The poker godz are punishing me quite a bit was down 12 buy ins with 2 tables left and ended down 7 buy ins. Calling that a win on its own. Standard money variance but my god the beats are pretty brutal. Expected but tough to carry at times. 1 session down now break time dont really need to clear my head im aight and maybe a quick late night session dependin how the MTTs go.

Ran like shiet in MTTs and after hitting top set losing to another miracle river card I decided to chill out for the rest of the night. Just wasn't feeling it and lack of motivation being the key factor. I know when im pumped to play and when I just am not feeling right and when im just being outright lazy. Putting my time to good use I studied a bunch of ICM spots and HU play. One of my goals for this thread was to update the good and bad & keep everything real.. 100%. So me updating this thread during my downswings is a step in the right direction of accountability and shows I can battle through the downswings (small or big). In the games I play it is low variance within poker but can still be 10-20 buy in swings on the daily basis.

Aight I'm back. Feeling refreshed today just played a monster sesh about 45 games and even after bricking first 11 SNG's I was good didnt even care cause at least they were spots that I kept running into AA im cool with it yesterday I was losing when I was ahead so many times and like i mentioned its tough to carry. Maybe something I need to work on but regardless its how you deal with it thats the determining factor and im good with how i dealt with it. Actually my studying helped me in some UTG/Early position shoves at 75/150 level I was shoving hands like 33/44 utg and utg+1 with 10bigs which was a mistake. All small adjustments but they can impact your winrate quite a bit. Slightly above breakeven so cleared another $10 bonus and im cool with that I was in for $390 total that session ill take it.

Most days played in a day for me ever.. 92 games and released $20 in bonus feels good to put in a real solid day after yesterday.

I’ll be off the next 4 days from poker plan to do a bit of studying then I should be back at work after that pending my results of getting retested. If I’m still positive I’ll continue to grind like a madman if not then I’ll return back to work focus on the fitness grind/ start running again and play poker on my off days/ some nights.

I calculated my rakeback with the silver status and points are running 10x so it’s 20%, deposit bonus is 20% and leaderboard gets on average $20 per $200 raked so all in all 50% but minimum of 40% which is great for a NJ Site imo.

This past week I hit 92 games in a day/ $62 raked in a day and 320 games in a week which are all peaks for me. Did this all while going through some ups and downs which wasn’t easy. Checked out the leaderboard and currently in 13th place at 1,093 points which should just about secure my 3rd week hitting $20 promo.

In terms of studying I cancelled my ICMIZER subscription cause I been doing 3 months package of around $32 give or take. I did this around 3 times I believe. I downloaded a free month trial of SNG Wizard 3 cause it’s only $99 lifetime. ICMIZER is great no problems jus the cost and really what I use it for. It’s some Icm spots and some particular spots with 10-15 bb against regs. Assume If could get it done with wizard and save money, why not.

i can see wsop has nice selection of sng games but is there reg heavy tendencies also? and does that room allow real money play outside of US?

Thx man and $5 & $10 sngs 9 man turbos are what I play not sure about the rest of them. They are good games the only games that are reg fested are $25 & $50 which anyone can avoid the regs if u game select and play from 7p-1am.

I’m really liking SNG Wiz, even though it’s a bit outdated for the purposes of simple 9 man situations it gets the job done. It costs $39.49 for the 3 month deal on ICMIZER so seems like a no brainer.

Been studying a bit and my ICM game has improved drastically I’ve noticed on my most recent downswing I was tightening my range too much with 4 left costing me valuable chips. Going from 8-9 bbs down to 5 can be very costly. In other news secured another week of $20 promos.

Good news my retest for covid came back neg so I’ll be able to return to work end of the week. I’ll be able to grind tomorrow (fri) and Saturday. At work I’ll have to finish out the week Sunday and Monday working 16 hour shifts my first 2 days back. Just the nature of essential work right now. I’m cool with it, it’s expected. So these next 2 days I wanna put in solid volume and make the most of it esp given the nice RB I’m getting. Goal is 160 games in 2 days additionally I just realized I’m in the running for some leaderboard spots which is cool. Once I return back to work it will drift off but still cool nonetheless.

Hey russ good to see you're still grinding! We used to talk on Skype and even met up one day few years ago at a park parx mtt. You went deep but lost a huge pot day 2 with KK against J7 I believe. Ai otf and he blinked 2pr otr. Anyways, hope all is well and gl on the grind!
