Hey Guys. A lot of you will recognise me as I am a reg in BBV, Student Life, Travel and Low and Mid stake mtts.

I will give a quick background : I started playing poker in 2008 mostly on facebook poker. I quickly became addicted and started playing a ton, whilst studying for my law degree at the same time. I think I got to rank 13 in the world on facebook poker which is crazy. I would have random people sending me links trying to steal chips from me it was crazy. Eventually I joined Party Poker and Pokerstars. I remember depositing $100 in 50c/1 game and busting all of that within 20 minutes. I was dishearted I looked up online for advice. Someone told me that it was profitably to simply short stack cash games wait for a premium hand and just shove all in because someone was always going to call you. I did exactly this. It was a bit up and down but this strajety worked I ended up earning over $2000 US in Cash over a couple of years. Back then the NZ dollar was around 59c in the US so this was a lot of money.

Even though I was doing well in cash, it didnt really excite me. I started to play a lot of mtts. I didnt do very well, until I realised that playing at 6pm at night onwards meant that I could play against a lot other bad players like myself. I adopted a massive nit strajety and this payed off. I made several $33 mtt final tables including chopping one heads up for $3200 in 2009 which was about $5000 nz at the time. I was on top of the world. I remember thinking that I must be a good player and surely it would only be a matter of time before I could get a really good score.

Boy how wrong I was. I was not a very good player I was simply a massive nit who misplayed a lot of hands. In 2010 whilst doing my professionals course I went on a massive downswing it was horrible. I needed a break.

In 2011 I spent most of the year overseas and it was the best year of my life. I did Continental Europe, US and Canada. I met so many amazing people it was great. I especially enjoyed the canadian girls they were right up my allay.

When I came back I knew I needed to go on twoplustwo and start posting some hands. I remember getting into arguments at the start but I had to realise was that these posters were better players then me and that I shud listen to them and learn from them. My game has been slowing improving but this year it has gone up another level. Last year I had a sick year on party where I had a really good ROI even though I hardly played any tornies. The last few months have been good I have run really well playing in small field tornies and it has been very enjoyable. Overall I just love the game. I am a very low volume player I never play more then 4 table at once and no more then 5-6 per session tops.

I currently work 20-25 hours a week as a lawyer, with just me and my dad in our practice. This is great as it gives me free time during the week to play if I can get my work done. I practice in family, trusts, wills and convenancying. I dont go to court that much but when I do I really enjoy it.

So to the goals: I'm not quite sure. I have a good poker mate who used to be a 1/2 pro so I can discuss stuff with him but he is as cash game player. I very keen to meet David Yan in Auckland sometime, I was going to send him a message when I was up there a while back but I saw that he was in canada. He is basically living my dream of travelling around the world playing MTTs. I do hope to increase my buyins to $22 -$55 dollar level. Currently the highest level I play is around $5 rebuy level. You can follow me online "martonfella" on pokerstars and partypoker and "The Young Tool" on full tilt poker. I will update when I get the chance and let everyone know how I am getting on. Peace and if you ever come to New Zealand I am more then happy to meet up for drinks/dinner etc. Peace

Have been playing a lot of mid stake and low tornies vs the FTOPS players this week. Started off well, but then I started playing sub-optimally and tried to bluff way to much. I hope people think I am a maniac because I am. I am planning on playing some sunday tornies this week as I have monday off work (nz time) So look out I'm gonna to throw caution the wind and see if I can go deep. Its so nice to play some of the bigger tornies and actually have a few big blinds to work with. Its gets boring sitting there playing 20bb poker for 3 hours straight.

Have a big end of season squash dinner/ club champs, its gonna be absolute carnage Ill do a report on it. Its in 2 weeks time. Peace out my brothers and sisters

0/2 im calling it a day. Played Bigger $11 and Bigger $55. Not like I played badly just nothing went my way. Looking forward to wednesday (when I will next play) and being able to get back to playing against regular people at my stake levels. I am lucky to be able to play the softer tornies because of my timezone. Gl to all for your sundays and those in the FTOPS main event. I need to develop a style that is laggy, but also not too bluffy or spewy. Its very hard at the top level so many good players. I will keep trying to play in softer tornies on stars but also party poker that is insanely soft compared to the other two sites.

Gl Piddle, although I must say I'm disappointed that you are a law-student doing good as opposed to an ex convict done good.

Busted 89th for $265

It was disappointing. I didn't really chance my arm, had a couple of spots where I should have pulled the trigger and didn't.

Recent results:

33rd in $4.40 PKO deep stacks (2000 players)
14th in $11 Bounty Builder (6000 players) at least I made around $300 in this one.

Over the past year I have had countless top 27 finishes but I think only one win and only two final tables. My average field size is huge, but even still getting depressed running deep in so many mtts but never finishing. Have at least 3 or 4 top 30 finishes in $5.50 deep stacks but never final tabled it (in the last year).

In the last month we have played the $7.50 America's Deep stack on Party Poker four times and finished 1st, 3rd, 4th and DNC. Not a bad record! Super soft mtt. I don't mind the long grinds and generally late reg it bout 1 hour and 30 in. Perfect time as most good euro regs don't bother with it.

Have not played on stars much at all with the rake increases and flattened payouts its not worth it.

Am picking Belgium or Croatia to go all the way in the world cup. Brazil prob still the favourite tho
