My name is The Zulu. I have played poker on and off for about 10 years. I tried creating a poker goals and challenges thread a couple of years ago but I gave up. I want to improve as a player. I'm going to play a variety of hold em games to try and move up through the stakes as well as reading videos and reading books and posting hands on here.

My current bankroll is $235.68. I'm going to give myself some goals and then go over them here. So what I'll do is make a post with my previous goal progress and then say what I'm going to do next.

Firstly I'm going to play 1000 hands of $10 NL zoom. I'll update graphs here.

$25NL - 1000 hands

Been away with work for a week. Decided to invest $220 and move up to $25NL. $25NL has gone swimmingly today. A combination of making no mistakes but also getting a lot of big hands and running very well. Very happy with how I played but always easier when you get very good hands versus mediocre ones.

One call I was very happy with. Maybe its basic stuff, but I think usually I would think "an unknown X/R me on the river. He can't be bluffing" and chucked it away. However I felt he felt i couldn't have the 4 and could make this play. Maybe I got lucky on this occasion. I possibly even played the hand poorly and didn't win enough from it.

I think my play on all streets was standard. Expected him to have a big pocket pair so any 2 pair, trips or flush was going all in. No point in bluffing him as I expect him to be a fish.

2000 hands

Wow. Don't think I've ever had such a reversal of fortune over 1000 hands before. Didn't even think it was possible. Hahaha.

Over the last 1000 hands I won over 50 big blinds on 1 hand. AA v KQ in 3 bet pot where he flopped TP & X/R me all in.

I have lost KK v AA twice, QQ v AA, QQ v JJ and the biggest sickener of the lot -

I didn't play well, but don't think I did anything in particular wrong. I don't like going all in preflop with QQ but I think blind v BTN its probably standard?

Bankroll - $440

I'll move down to if I reach $350 unfortunately. Wow 9 buy ins in 1000 hands. 5 of those I think were definitely unavoidable.
