hey all, my name is Jordan, I'm 19 years old living in Melbourne Australia and have just recently, in the last few months started taken poker seriously, meaning i'm playing with real money and applying strategy. I occasionally played poker on facebook with play money and recently downloaded pokerstars and played some play money there. but a few weeks ago I deposited $20 and also received some tournament tickets as a bonus. bubbled in a couple but cashed in the big $4.4 for $12 so that was a big boost to my roll

anyway since I have started taking this seriously i have read a few poker books which I have downloaded on my phone since my phone plan allows me $30 of app/music/book/movie purchases a month so I have read through some poker books and still working through others which I read on the commute to uni.

I live close to the crown casino which hosts the aussie millions and other various big poker events. now I have not been there yet but I will soon! each weekday at 12 they hold a $50 turbo mtt which is the lowest buyin they have there, so on one of my days off I am really planing on doing this. mainly for the experience of playing live poker.

anyway i have mainly been playing the 25c 45 man and 90 man sit n go's and have made some profit on them.
my current roll on pokerstars is $35
I think I'll mainly play the slower mtt's as i have either being unlucky in hyper tournaments like those 4 person shootout satellites and the spin n go's, or I am just not really good at it. it's sometimes hard to not play them because I generally don't have much time or the attention span to sit and play for a few hours, I need to get my poker fix somehow
I also won't be playing many cash games. there seems to be a lot of good tight players in the 1c/2c games but in the 25c sit and go's there are many loose fish type players.

this thread will be for me posting my progress and for people to hopefully offer me some tips on hands I may post or maybe some good books that are on the google play store

I already have a bit of experience in sports betting and applying bankroll management. my sports betting bankroll started at $10 and is now at about $450 in the last year and a half all while betting about 5% of my roll each time.

so I am limiting myself to the 25c games and some 50c games, though the 55c bounty builder and big tournaments are on at like 2 and 4 am so playing them is a little difficult.

thanks for reading I will try posting my progress occasionally.

I'll try and udate everything from the last few months
so I was playing 25c sit n goes on PS usually just 2 tabling, after about 100 of them I had a ROI of 80% which i was pretty proud of.
I played the 2nd $1 mini wcoop phase event and won through to day 2 but only mincashed.
I joined party poker and been entering there smallest stakes mtt, the flyweight 22c and 55c and I actually won a 50c one for about $16. honestly the party poker site is really soft
i then took a shot at the $1 180 man sit n go, the first time i played this and i won! $50
so now I have decided to play all $1 tournaments I can.
I had a free trial of poker tracker thought it was good. then I tried a free trial of poker copilot but i didn't like it as much and it didn't track my party poker results. and now I am on a holdem manager free trial and honestly I like Poker tracker over all of them, so I am planing on buying it soon. although online poker in australia is looking rather bleak and may not be around next year so I am not really sure about buying it.

Crown casino also held a few freeroll tournaments with $10 rebuys and addon's building the prize pool, for every $250 in the prizepool a ticket to a $250 satelliete to the Aussie Millions Main event. i didn't do any rebuys or addon and I did not win a ticket any of the times a played. but there is another one this saturday.

lol, so I'm not the happiest, below is my all time graph

the first big jump is when I won $50 in a $1 180man sng and after that I started playing $1 tourneys, it was rather swingy as expected but after the peak, well I don't know, i just can't seem to have a good session, I just lose several buy ins, then possibly a session with a small win and then just lose several buy ins again. I just decided to go and play a few of the 25c 45 man sng, in total I played 15 and lost all of them

what's changed? I really don't think my play has changed that much which may be the problem, I have a bunch of poker books on phone which I would read on my way to school and since I have finished school for the year I haven't really done any ready on theory. so I think it's time for a break and to do some studying.
