Iv been playing poker for 2 years now and I`m up about 24k.. I work full time but had 8 months off work last year to play poker and worked on my game a tonne. I was beating 25nl at 6bb/100 over 60k hands and shot taking at 50nl which went well. I however ended up taking off my roll to go back to work and pay for different courses. Being back in work and having 850usd coming in weekly I can comfortably grind for fun and get back up.

I have always seen these challenges fail and would like to succeed where others have failed and prove that its doable.

Starting bankroll:

Goal: $4000

Bankroll management:

2NL $20 - $50 (5 shots at 5nl at $75)
5NL $75 - $150 (5 shots at 10nl at $200)
10NL $200 - $400 (5 shots at 16nl at $480)
16NL $480 - $640 (5 shots at 25nl at $765)
25NL $765 - $1000 (5 shots at 50nl at $1250)
50NL $1250 - 2000 (5 shots at 100nl at $2500)
100NL $2500 - $4000

Will post hands and graphs every few days

Day 3 Update

Ran absolutely disgusting at 2nl zoom. Had KK<AA preflop like 5 times, Had AA lost to AK, lost with AA vs 93o etc... just some terrible beats on the wrong side of variance. I ended up dropping to $9 and getting it back up. I`m now on almost double the starting bankroll which I`m happy with!

Going to try and play about 8-10k hands tomorrow and get a good profit from the session.

Day 4 update

The missing 6 dollars or something was won playing a one table SNG on my phone on the train to the casino..

Decided to call it a day today and book the win. Played 3753 hands with a $17.24 profit. Tried focusing more on pot control in 3b pots, getting to showdown and sizing my value bets smaller otr with marginal hands. Losing minimum and winning maximum

Going to play a local ‎£35 6max ‎£‎2000 gtd tournament tonight. Will probably play a session when I get home whilst watching doug polks stream. Hopefully be shot taking by the weekend

A couple hands from todays session.

Hand 1

When i 3bet from the SB I think villains going to peel wide at these stakes.. mostly all pp AT Ax broadways etc. If it was highter stakes I would have cbet flop like I would with 99, TT, JJ QQ KK AA. Think villain has far too many floats on his board.
When it checks through on the turn his range looks like small pp, AT, KT, KQ, AQ.. So I have showdown value vs his range. If he bets turn I fold. His bet otr just looks like a bluff.

    Hand 2

When villain calls pre he has a wide range. His lead on the flop makes me think he has some kind of 6, 56, A5, 33, 55 or a fd with overs. On the turn when he checks I know im always ahead as hes not checking 44 or 66. When he x/c I think its less likely he has 33 but could have 55. He hasnt got a 6 to lead out on the river. He hasnt got 23 so he either has 55 or a random fd thats bluffing river.

      Day 4 update part 2.

      Soooooooooo!...

Big session tonight, I never ended up going to the casino to play.. I stayed at the tables and played another 6-7k hands. I also played the big 1.10 off star coins and cashed for like 5$ i think it was, not sure. Hovered around 60$ for a while went back down to 50 once or twice got a bit annoying.. bluffed some rivers where i shouldnt, fired a few second barrels on brick turns when i shouldnt have.. All silly avoidable mistakes.. Ended up gaining focus towards the last 3500 hands of the sessions and ran it up..

The plan tomorrow whenever i wake up (2 weeks off work) is to take 5 shots at 5nl and hopefully get above the $100 mark!

      Gift of the session:

Guy who i 3bet is from china and was playing like 60/40 with a 18 3b. It was always a squeeze but smashing his range always 3bet getting it in vs him anyway. Then it got tricky when villain 2 called and we saw that flop.. Kind of a **** it moment. Hoping he had QQ JJ 99 with a club or AQ.. lol

        Day 5 update

Challenge is going good so far! Shows that 2nl is easily beatable if you have the disciple to grind it properl and focus. The start of my shot taking at 5nl went a bit rocky.. Ended up losing 3.5 buy ins or something like that but managed to grind it back up and through out...

Really find 2nl soft and 5nl as soft.. Havent played these stakes in a while but never really taken the time to play them kind of learned the game and skipped to higher limits then learnt to beat those stakes instead. Love the feeling of putting more chips in the pot now. Kind of got used to 2nl for a minute lol.

Hopefully be at 10nl by tuesday when I have to go back to work.. so will only be able to grind nights..

        Day 6 update (afternoon)

        Bankroll:-

        Graph:-

Crushing 5nl atm (sick brag) lol.. Playing solid all round. Been working on applying over bets for value in different spots at these stakes and sometimes as bluffs. Which has been working better than i thought it would. Going to relax now probably go out and try play 3-5k hands tonight and get up to $200 for 10nl. Have a sick new playlist to listen to as well.. Look up DJ Russke on youtube he does some good 30minute mixes that are good to listen to whilst grinding

The plan for the bankroll overall once I reach 4k I will probably withdraw 2k and treat myself and use the other 2k to grind 50nl and probably wont be withdrawing again until I`m winning at 200nl.

        Day 6 update (evening session)

Went from $145 today to $180 then back down to like $120.. had a shower looked myself in the mirror and said "did you really just get done for $60 by some 5nl fish playing poker on a 1980 dell laptop sitting in a shed?...it was all going well. Do something about it"...

So i wrapped that towel around me marched to my room threw on some calvins opened the windows and loaded up pokerstars and PUNISHED THE FISH!! (Never really been one to give up and quit.. Have to keep moving forward if youre going to win!!)

Im now ready to take 5 shots at 10nl.. Looking forward to it but this evening was a long session taking into account I played 2kish hands this morning. Im going to do it tomorrow instead.

Crushed 10nl for 8k hands. Had some coolers along the way but grinded through them. Find adding some strong checks to your game in 3bet pots are the way to beat this stake and drive for value with overbets on the river with monsters on wet boards.

Going to play a session tonight and try to get to shot taking at 16nl.

                          Day 7 evening update

Had a rough 2nd session today. Ended up dropping 6-7 buy ins and then winning it back and got in some pretty sick pots!

Im like 240 vpps away from gold star which is good! Looking at buying a macbook for when im working away so I can still play 2-4k hands a day..
