Challenge 3 Week 1

Trying to have a steady bankroll for PLO25

Only managed to play a couple of sessions really and in the first session i ended up losing about 8 buy-ins and in the second I ended up winning a few more than I lost in the first session. After the loss I had to deposit some more so the total I've deposited for challenge 3 is $124.

Ended up making a small withdrawal which is nice as it's usually deposits I'm making with a little profit over the two sessions.

My plan this week is to do the same as last week, play as well as I can at PLO25 and withdraw a 1/4 of profit next monday and then probably do the same thing the week after. I'll just try and play some more sessions this week.

I know you want to move up quickly and are clearly comfortable depositing if you busto but you should probably still take a bit more time to work your way through the stakes. Even when being super aggressive you should have 20 buy ins for your level in NLH and even more at PLO which is just a crazy swingy game. GL anyway OP

cheers Chaboii

yeah I agree with you even in fairly passive games I can still be up or down 10 buy-ins in a session so I am going to try and stick at this level for a little while, still get the gambling fix being up or down so much and also hopefully I won't end up going to $0 if I stick at a level for a while- looking at the player pool the only player who seems not to go busto is the one who seems to have a huge bankroll for the stakes and grind it.

Challenge 3 Week 2

Trying to have a steady bankroll for PLO25

got upto 20ish buy-ins for PLO25 and then just ended up going to PLO50 and losing it pretty quick.

ended up depositing more so $173 total for challenge 3. I think I'm going to class it as a fail as I didn't stick at the same stakes and make a new challenge and try to do better.

I realize there is not much point in having a challenge thread if I cannot stick to the limits I want even for a couple of days. So this will be the last challenge I bother posting about (for a while anyway ) if I cannot complete this as the pattern will keep repeating.

Challenge 4 is to play 100 hours of PLO25 starting with $111 and redepositing if necessary. It would be a big achievement for me even if I could do this fairly simple looking task.

I will write out the negatives jumping into games I can't afford even if they look like good games

1) losing the account balance doesn't just mean losing the $ it also means I lose however much rakeback/ bonuses I would have got if I stayed at the same stake which can equal $50+ a week.

2) losing the account balance........means I lose however much I would have made if I stayed at the same stake and carried on playing (i do think I could at least breakeven on this site at PLO25, whereas on pokerstars I would be a big loser at the same stake)

3)........ it stresses me out as losing $500 is a reasonable amount of money to lose, meaning I eat more food/drink more alcohol/ exercise less- I guess if you equated this to life cost- this costs me $100+ a week if you can put a price on health

4).... it makes me feel like silly and no one likes to feel like that so this is another cost of losing the account balance

so i need to change my thinking next time I think I can play a level without sufficient money that I have more to lose than the stake money.

I won't check this thread for the 100 hours as it's a bit embarrassing so hopefully I can manage 4th time lucky with my challenges and come back to the thread after 100 hours with a challenge completed

Challenge 2 Summary: Failed, $0/$1000
