Re: CFP Ship It!

whats your stop loss? im thinking of buying tilt breaker and setting it at 1.5bi

Kind of hard to go on massive downswings if you cant lose more than 3bi per day

Re: CFP Ship It!

I honestly don't think stoploss effects a downswing unless when you are losing you tilt and spew off 15bi in a day regularly. With a 3bi stoploss you will not lose a lot in any one day but you could just hit it day after day so I don't think it stops a downswing.

I have 6bi stoploss.

Re: CFP Ship It!

Happy New Year!

This year I will be working a lot on standard lines from a GTO standpoint which will require me to do a lot of off table work. It seems daunting but i'm up for the challenge. I started playing some 200nl more regularly the last couple weeks and I hope to finally break through this time. I will likely make a video soon on how I go about finding out what my standard or default ranges will be in certain spots. My coach tells me this is the number one way to improve with this style so I will show how I do that.

I may break this hand down to see if it was a +ev call down, slightly losing, or a big mistake.

MP: $40.00
CO: $131.30
Hero (BTN): $118.60
SB: $35.00
BB: $100.00
UTG: $161.80

BB shows 6 T (High Card, King)
(Pre 56%, Flop 31%, Turn 16%)
Hero shows 8 7 (One Pair, Sevens)
(Pre 44%, Flop 69%, Turn 84%)
Hero wins $197.50

Re: CFP Ship It!

I am shot taking 200nl this month and had a difficult session but great support from the cfp students so I won’t give up. I am taking a break after losing several large pots. I’ll play 100nl the rest of the day but I plan to try again tomorrow.

Here are some of the hands:

I feel like this was alright played but maybe others could play it better

BTN: $952.91
SB: $208.00
Hero (BB): $286.02
UTG: $234.84
MP: $200.00
CO: $226.58

SB posts SB $1.00, Hero posts BB $2.00

Pre Flop: (pot: $3.00) Hero has K 9

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $4.00, fold, Hero calls $2.00

Flop: ($9.00, 2 players) K Q J

(Pre 68%, Flop 83%, Turn 89%)
Hero mucks K 9 (Flush, Ace High)

BTN wins $279.30

I think my hand is strong enough here for the 3brl

Hero (BTN): $207.00
SB: $200.00
BB: $207.00
UTG: $210.06
MP: $200.00

Re: CFP Ship It!

If players are turning these hands into it makes it so difficult to vb. Rather than just move on and be happy I won I am a little concerned with this. In both hands I have a fair bit wider hands I want to vb here but I think the hands I had are the weakest I would call vs shove so I feel uncomfortable in the future if I have slightly worse.

I like my river sizing in h 1, I often will try and make this bet size with Tx, KQ, set type hands and I often get raised so I thought it would be good with the nuts.

BTN: €105.32

SB checks, Hero bets €5.41, MP calls €5.41, fold

Turn: (€19.32, 2 players) 9
Hero bets €14.00, MP calls €14.00

River: (€47.32, 2 players) K
Hero bets €20.00, MP raises to €88.32 and is all-in, Hero calls €60.92 and is all-in

MP shows A A (One Pair, Aces)
(Pre 92%, Flop 78%, Turn 82%)
Hero shows A T (Straight, Ace High)
(Pre 8%, Flop 22%, Turn 18%)
Hero wins €207.01

Re: CFP Ship It!

I have been experimenting with the difference in ev of checking back marginal tp vs making a cb. There are ofc pros and cons to each. On one hand it allows me to be somewhat protected with weaker parts of my range and also allows me to have stronger ranges when I do things like raising a turn probe, or betting turn and river when checked to twice, or bluff catch turn and river. The cons are I allow my opponents to realize more of their equity. Some hands with very little equity gets the chance to suck out from time to time and I allow hands with more equity a free card otf. Overall it seems a little better to chose some tp hands to xb.

It is pretty nice to be able to show up with a good hand on many run outs here and especially nice that I have a comfortable call here otr against a hand that would fold to flop cb.

BB: $24.85

UTG: $49.65
MP: $124.15
CO: $153.80
Hero (BTN): $101.40
SB: $98.75

SB posts SB $0.50, BB posts BB $1.00

Pre Flop: (pot: $1.50) Hero has J Q

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $2.00, SB calls $1.50, BB calls $1.00

Flop: ($6.00, 3 players) J 2 6
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($6.00, 3 players) 9
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $4.20, SB calls $4.20, fold

River: ($14.40, 2 players) 3
SB bets $14.00, Hero calls $14.00

SB shows K Q (High Card, King)
(Pre 75%, Flop 15%, Turn 11%)
Hero shows J Q (Flush, Queen High)
(Pre 25%, Flop 85%, Turn 89%)
Hero wins $40.30

This hand might be a little to strong to xb flop but since I did I felt it deserved a turn raise. I think if my coach was sweating me for this hand I would have been told to make a 2/3-3/4 river bet.

Re: CFP Ship It!

@...|... I actually never consider that I am playing against bots, are they very common? Poker clients don't block the use of them?

I grinded pretty hard and table selected harder and had some success but there wasn't much games running so I go try and play fast fold and lose $100 so I rage quit then I come back and grind some more have success then play some fast fold again after games die down and lose $200 at 50nl and rage quit again. I need to get funds on two networks very quick so I quit this fast fold. One of the two networks declined my deposit because my card is listed in Malta wtf? They don't know e-wallets exist? Anyway I am emailing with them and hopefully I get funds on there soon so I get enough action. The other one I never get paid on time or in full by the affiliate so i'm hesitant to make the deposit and play for no RB so i'm shopping around affiliates to deposit on that network because I seen good games in the lobby. Anyway I know this post is a little all over the place and why am I raging when I have a 1k day? At least I am not tilting off buyins when I tilt and I quit instead so I guess it is not so bad.

Anyway I made a few vids on my studying that i'll post over the next couple weeks so that is it for now.

Re: CFP Ship It!

I got a package in the mail and when I opened it I was really confused and wondering where it came from as it had no note other than what appeared to be German writing on the package. It was a money clip with my poker name on it. A piece of chocolate came along with it and I ate it so if you don't see another blog post from me this week then it is fairly likely I was poisoned.

Hopefully one day i'll have money to put in it.

Anyway I got to get to the bottom of this...

Great thread, great attitude and cool videos, will be following!

As you said I think AJ is too strong to xb there, you can get value from his Ax hands, but you got that value on the turn and river so nh! (+1 to bigger on river)

QJ: I like the check 3way, HU I'd usually bet. What about you?

Also, I remember watching a vid by Internet some time ago and I think you got yourself a great coach.

gl and success for 2015!

Re: CFP Ship It!

yeah most sites are bot infested. Party just had a major crack down on sick bots. Ipoker has always had them and smaller sites are infested.

On smaller sites though they are usually much worse. But some are pretty sick. On my main site at 100 there is only one that is super annoying but hes nitty so if you just leave it alone its no problem. The worst part is that he takes a ton out of the economy. Those really good ones often play similar to poker snowie but much more aggro because they are basing their play on their datamines of the population instead of a gto bot like themselves. Everytime you trap them they check back. tilting lol.

There's still a few sites with no bots. It's easy to see because the games are great.

You should always review your DB for similarities especialy in postflop cbetting/folding/raising tendencies when you have decent samples. Help the network a bit

There are some regs that don't seem to adjust. There was a reg every time I 4b 18bb he shoved and every time I 4b 16bb he folded and pretty much every part of his game was systematic and there are some other similar players and also they play seemingly 10hrs/day so maybe these are the bots. That is interesting.

those are rare though. Most i have played will adjust at some point.

Unfortunately the ones that get banned are those easy one. I had one like that with 30k hand he was -10bb.. i loved him. he kept the games running and donated.

After a little bit of investigative work it turns out it was indeed a gift from the Head Poncho Gordon Gecko which is an amazing gesture. Hopefully one day I have money to put in it.

Re: CFP Ship It!

I am still having some big issues with rage quitting and I had one today. Lost many BI in a couple minute and so I quit. I generally play 4-6 tables but since I pretty much only have one small network at the moment i've been struggling to get in volume. Today there were more tables than usual and I had 11 tables open and it was just to much for me I couldn't handle it. I folded TP to a cb on a dry board and made some other mistakes but just felt overwhelmed. I want to work my way up to 9-12 but I think I moved to fast today, I will max it at 9 for now but look to play around 6.

I have been studying my ass off this week with a productive coaching session and I also read a few chapters of Applications of no limit hold'em so I spent a lot of time working on certain areas of my game so it sucks to have some big losses but i'm still at about $1300 for the week so I will try to look at it as a good week.

I have been thinking a lot lately about what people cc a 3b with since I don't do it at all. I have been posting a lot in the micro forums lately and I see a lot of AK, QQ, JJ type hands so I thought maybe that is sort of the range people will have but based on how most hands play out I don't think it is nearly that defined. I have seen 44, KK, and 96s this week so I really have no idea. I just sat at this table so I didn't know this was the "fun" player. Am I really supposed to be folding to this turn raise?

I have this player marked as a good reg. From his perspective perhaps it is unlikely I will hero a non straight and I will shove a straight my self but I am really second guessing my self now. Should I have shoved turn? Should I have xb river? Should I play KQ like him in the future? I will be thinking about this hand for a long time, I was floored when I saw the pot ship to villain because how can he have the nuts in his xc range here?

On a side not this is actually the second time this week I value shoved in this spot and got called by a better hand so maybe I have to re-evaluate how I play my ranges.

Re: CFP Ship It!

Bad start to the week but glass half full it is only 7bi so as long as I don't lose another 7bi i'm ok with it and will keep trying to play solid. I already started making a lot of it back so hopefully by weeks end i'm in the black.

Re: CFP Ship It!

Low volume this week as I shot took a bit and still getting used to my new routine. I played only 31hrs as I hit stoploss 3-5x so getting near b/e i’m happy with. Only hope to play more next week that is my only goal for next week.

I played a little 400nl also that didn't go well.
