Not a great start to the month but not so bad either. I am going to up the volume and try to have as long a day as I can on non stoploss days since those stoploss days slow down my volume a lot. I have a lot of material to study and I will likely have enough time to study all of it.

GL this week everyone

Still can not have any success. I did 6hr database analysis yesterday and will make some changes because what i’m doing isn’t working.

Been getting a bit tilty lately not at the tables but I have been rage quiting instantly and I had a lot of short sessions today. Haven’t got to stoploss though infact up a few bi atm but I do think I need those breaks otherwise I start breaking stuff.

I got to sweat Internet today while he played highstakes that was pretty fun. The play is much different than at my stakes but I think I can learn a lot from it. I recorded it so i'll go back and watch it a few times next week.

I rage quit after this hand. In my last session with Internet I mentioned how I feel like when I take pot control lines such as underbetting, or B|X|B, or X|B|B that villains seem to always raise my bets and I end up folding and that I feel I am getting bluffed a lot, so he said “then call”. I went into my next session and a few spots came up where this happened so I decided to call when I had it and obv fold my bluffs an I lost them all. I thought i’d look up this spot in HM2 because I was telling my self that these spots are never bluffs (atleast value 90%+) but after filtering these spots I find 12/42 bluffs in the last few months. I am pretty upset to find this out because it means I am good around 30% of the time and that is usually the odds I need so basically I have to still be calling here with a lot of my valuebets. This is one of the most frustrating spots for me because I feel like I can’t vb and I start checking back strong hands to frequently. If you can’t beat em join em so to stick it to them I will look for spots to do this my self.

I had a hand very similar to this a few days ago where I called flop. I posted in forums and discussed it with my coach and the forums thought I should raise flop and my coach thought both are fine. This time I raised and I think I am supposed to shove a brick and take a note but I think x down is fine from the turn.

I can not figure out how it was possible for villain to play his hand this way and took a while to come up with an effective note.

My coach and I found some big leaks in my game in last session. Basically I hero fold way to often and so we tried to find some ways where I don't fold my decent hands postflop. That will be my focus this week is to find ways to continue with decent hands rather than find ways to fold.

@moneysaver ty

I have had now about 10 days in a row with a graph that looks exactly like this. I go on a nice run every session but I lose it all back every day as well. I know it is a skill thing and not variance, I just need to get better. I am taking very frequent breaks pretty much after I am down a bi I take 30min and it may be the reason I am b/e instead of losing but I still haven't figured out how to win. For the most part the regs are not very good and there are plenty of fish but there are some regs that I am not sure how to classify them. They don't put in more than 10bb w/o a very strong hand and they are very fit fold type and not aggro w/o the goods. I try to avoid giving them action but it is difficult to play them as they don't pay off anything and don't bluff so I don't pay off anything vs them. All I can think to do is win most of the under 10bb pots and hope to cooler them in big pots. Perhaps I bring it up in coaching and maybe there is a better way.

you know bad runs happen?

I have run bad for a year now and yesterday i ran like everyone else runs.. Bi's just pile up and easy folds wit tptk in 3bet pots are really easy to make.

When you get one of these short normal run you remember that poker is easy and that this breaking even/losing is just you getting completely ass****ed while everyone else is getting rimmed by gods of luck

its quite possible you've been getting really sub par luck every single day for a long time.

Here it is the last 12 days or so, just about every peak is a new day. I guess yeah it is possible for this to just naturally occur for a while, then we go on long heaters and long downswings. Just the way it goes maybe.

Anyway I made a video on my impression on bluff catching check it out.

Didn't hit stoploss as I completed my hours for the day but it is hard to be objective and tell my self I played well when I have not been having success for a long time.

I had a note on villian that he 5b to this size with AKo so I wrote in chat "you have AK right" before shoving it in and villain said "fok u" before calling and the karma gods fisted me. I believe that is the first time I chirped in chat before getting it in and this suckout was rightfully deserved and villain subsequently chirped me the next orbit.

There is this 40bb pro who is the most difficult half stacker I have played against, he gives me fits and the other day he fleeced me for a couple hundred at least. I got sweet revenge on him after he doubled up and here you see what makes him so annoying. He is consistently putting in the last bet always forcing me to have a hand that I can stack off with and finally I had it. Back when I could check out players on ptr I often would see the most difficult players lose and the players I never noticed were winners and so it is quite possible this player isn't winning. I try to spend some time studying 40bb play but they still have an edge on me so it always feels good to get a double stack from them. I will go over some strategies for them in next coaching session.

@...|... I am playing everyday and I have a ton of reads on the player pool I just don't play 40bb poker as well as the 40bb regs.

@ThinkItThrough That is awesome that you have gained an edge vs them, that is something I want to put more time into as I despise them.

I decided to play without a hud this week and so far it is pretty interesting how many things I notice about my opponents tendencies. I had a sweat session with Ironhades and I was pointing out lines and ranges I thought my opponents will take in the hand before they did it and on those occasions I was correct. I will continue without the hud throughout the week. I also won again today with little variance and I can't remember the last time I had two smooth sailing days in a row so I feel slightly better today.

@...|... I would love tips on how to play vs 40bb stack but I don't feel comfortable saying where I play because I would like to talk a lot about my stats and how I play throughout this blog and I don't want to get a paranoid feeling at the tables.

I got my self ready for a long day at the tables as I started at 6am only to hit stoploss in 1hr so i'm pretty frustrated right now. I skyped coach to see if I can continue and maybe I play again later today.

The week is still going well and if I have no more stoploss this week I will be satisfied with the results.

I am not sure about this hand. Villain had been playing a maniac style with 10x opens and huge bluffs and continuing vs all re-raises so I thought his range was wide and tried to push him off a weak hand.
