Pretty simple. Lucky idiot binked 3 tournies in 2 days thinks he's the best

Cash was always my thing, playing and leaving whenever I could just made a lot of sense to me and to what I was doing in that part of my life.
I couldn't get enough tables running last Saturday and being a weekend day it felt weird. Surprisingly enough tournaments were poping with decent GTDs for the pool. I've registered to a couple and binked one. Next day I register to a couple more and bink two more. I'm like Dafuq? Are the games really this soft or am I on the biggest upswing ever?

To find out I'm making this Thread and see where it takes me


Where do I want to go?

Not sure, all my volume is on the Portuguese Pokerstars so the fields are smaller and there aren't many high-end tournaments. I also don't intend to make a living out of this at the moment, but I do enjoy playing and the rush of a final table is sweet...
I won't leave cash as I'm keeping 1/2 tables on the side to help with the slow style of 3/4 tabling tournies


What am I doing with my life?


I'm attending college and could've had a degree by now... Life got in the way and I lost almost 3 years of my life due to stupidity and illness. Sadness aside I'm having a pretty soft year and have a lot of free time.
Apart from Uni I'm also going to start working part-time in December. I feel like I had pretty much zero sense of responsibility and even tho I've always had money for whatever I've wanted, getting a work will help me grow per say.
So I'll study, work and only then grind whenever possible which should be pretty often.


Tournament Recap


The first tourny that I've won was The Big 3,

It just felt like a breeze. All my cash hours and hands spent there definitely helped me in here. Having a somewhat idea of what to do Postflop for sure gave me an edge vs my opponents. After being deep in the tourny I just kept gathering chips without much problem, people were overfolding everywhere and suddenly I was HU and couldn't ask for a better turn set up to finish things




The second tourny was unexpected. I was shorty all tourny and couldn't do much throughout. People were doing a lot of ICM mistakes, don't get me wrong, I don't have much if any experience with it, but some dudes were folding everything with a stack below 5 and even 2 BBs. Sounds dumb to me.
Eventually got HUs and having 1 to 4 chip disadvantage I thought it would be good to make a deal.
Dude wanted to play the HU like it was for real and I ended up winning... Sucks to give up around 30 bucks but you never know if you're winning it or not and he seemed somewhat decent



The third tourny was on the same day. I had it running on the side while playing the FT and ended up winning it as well. Ran pretty pure in All-ins on the FT, I was first all the way and won the tourny with the classic flip






Think that it's all. Also had a FT yesterday but finished seventh loosing 88 to AKo.


Will update later in the day since my grind just started.

Forgot to say that even tho the bankroll increased substantially, I've no intentions of going up as of now since I know that my abilities are close to null. Think that I should improve first and then consider it.

Apart from that ran pretty meh, didn't win necessary flips to stay alive and also made a pretty stupid call, I didn't even think just instantly called and not even sure why... Here it is




Day Recap

Played ok overcall if I discount that idiotic call. Didn't cash anything today but made some money on the bounty that I threw away my stack in and also got a couple bucks playing NL10z.
My HM2 is acting up, even tho I didn't win any money today he says that I got a 140€ win somehow. Not sure what's wrong with it but I'll check tomorrow.


Not much happening tomorrow, have College in the morning and afternoon and going out for dinner so no Tourny grind but I'll try and get a cash session in whenever I can.

Managed to put a couple hours yesterday to end the month. Went alright, played really solid and booked a good win



Hand 1:
Sizing is meh OTT but they're both fishy and I don't really care much about stack sizes OTR. Just want to charge max vs draws that was a nice Jack OTR for an extra 3.7$




Hand 2:

This one I'm not too sure. UTG is fish and MP is regular a bit on the Tight side. The idea behind the small sizing OTF is to try and keep the fish in and to have a PSB bet left OTT to jam vs the Regular.
I don't know, in hindsight, it's probably better to just flat and go from there

Kinda of a lucky call for me. The only sevens that he should have are 77 and A7s. QJ should double barrel in my eyes and that was my reasoning for calling but it's too many assumptions vs a small sample guy that I'm not sure if it's a fish

I quite like some HyperMTT Satellites to some big tournies, don't exactly intend to play them, think I can unreg if I win and I really enjoy the constant action needed.

Played a couple hours yesterday, went alright.
Still didn't feel like I was running good but booked a good win and also got 10€ on the daily challenge which is good because I lost around 8€ in MTTs BIs

Been a while since I've updated. Was busy with work and then went out for the weekend + Monday and Tuesday, just arrived.

Managed to play here and there and got 2 good money finishes

Lost AK<AJ, kinda sucky because the table was really soft =/



This one felt like a breeze, small field and not much happened on the tourny till the last 3 tables. I've doubled when I needed and just stole blinds to the victory literally. People were under defending like crazy... Not a very big score but nice win either way





Cash wise it's being kinda meh. Not running particularly good but I made some costly mistakes on a couple of hands I think.
Also played a bit of 25z, it barely runs and it was way softer over the 10z. It went alright the regulars are pretty much the same so w/e

Just finished another session. Cash is still going meh but overall I think that I've played solid today. I'm not putting in massive volume so I hope that it's just a longer downswing due to that.

Pretty uneventful tourny again, I've won a flip and then grinded my way to the FT. I feel like I can take my spots late game and keep my head above water. Really satisfied with my late game play, feels like most of the tournments, if I manage to get a decent stack I always make a FT. Couldn't do much HU since I had like 15bbs at the start and had to shove 22 onto his 88 and that was it



This one sucked. I was chiplead since there were 4 tables left. I was putting pressure and growing my stack. 6 players left and some weak dude flop a set vs my 44 and checks back turn is a 4 and that was it. RIP my monster stack, after that couldn't get much going and eventually lost TT<Q5o for 13bbs. Still a nice day nonetheless, just feels like I've missed something because I was sure that I was going to win it, w/e



Cash went alright, it's all 25z because it was running again. Not much happened and I'm also pretty tired so I'll look into the sessions tomorrow

Time for an update,

Been a bit short on time with work/college and poker whenever I can. It's going better, still loosing at 10z but getting good results in the lol 25z sample that I've.
Today was my day off work, just got home but I'm not feeling like grinding so I guess I'll take my time and update this.





I still feel like I'm in need of a sun run session but that's just silly, who doesn't right? Can't complain since I'm not having many setups on 25z.

On the tourny side, it just isn't happening. Haven't registered a tourny since the last update, just not having the time to spend on that front.

Hand 1:
vs a pretty straightforward regular, think that Turn is a mistake. He probably folds lower PPs to my sizing OTF and I'm blocking 88/99. At the time I thought about nut potential but w/e, kinda meh board to bluff this

vs weak reg, nice move?



Hand 4:
weaktight reg, dude been raising my smaller river sizings a lot without any success. Guess he got tired of it



Hand 5:
I've history with this guy, he's 4betting me like crazy on 10z. Guess he just pussies out on 25...





Got some other hands but they're dull and common spots I would say.


Going to work tomorrow all day but will most likely grind when I get home

25z wasn't happening yesterday so grinded some 10z instead, downswing looks to be over since I've ran a bit better and could actually do something without getting pummeled.

Not exacly sure about x'ing OTT. Obviously worked out in here but I feel like we should check a lot on that turn? It's not like my draws are in a good spot to barrel, help?

Played really great, made some good folds and some good calls. Also went to check my cashier and had 17€ of Tmoney. Bingoed an All in shootout today

Time for another update, busy day yesterday. I had a lot of unplanned stuff that I needed to get done during the afternoon and also had to work around dinner time. Got home super tired and didn't grind but did manage to grind a bit in the morning.
Games were kinda dead and even 10z had a low avg of players. Session went alright, lost 3 BIs, I spewed one myself and ran into AA with KK.

Today was my day of work and even tho I needed some Uni study done I wasn't feeling it and just went out. Got home late and jump in the 25z pool asap. Looked really juicy and it was. Had a shaky start there but finished strong

Time for an update on this thing

Holidays went great and I've managed to put in some time. Poker is been rough for me since the last update, can't get anything done and when I get something decent people manage to have better the majority of the time. Currently, on a 12BIs downswing and even tho it could be normal I'm not feeling good with myself or my game. I find myself not going for max value because they probably have it again and between running bad I think that I'm not playing to my best abilities which just makes it worse.





25z is dead for a long time. I've tried going for some regular tables and it looked okayish. Don't think that it's a good time to try them now since my mental game is poop but I'll see in the future, hell might even go for some NL5 to get some confidence back. Bankroll is at 596€ so it can take some more damage, maybe I'll withdraw since I always seem to run better / play better when I do. I'll think about what I want to do.

Pretty idiotic month to be honest. Ran pretty poorly all month on z10 and even tho I was aware that it was some run bad, I didn't play that great at times. At first, I could keep my head straight and focus on the best move but as days kept going and results kept being crap I don't think that my mental game was that good. For sure I spewed some stacks and didn't get as much value as I should on a lot of spots but that's poker. It has a big mental game and I'm starting to get a feel of what it takes to actually be always focused and with a keen eye on all the spots.
Can't complain that much tho, because I got some stacks on 25z and ran ok there with my meh sample to save the month

Tournments



144 games last month. To be honest I'm not actually aware of what a good month, volume wise, would be. I've never played MTTs and even tho I know 144 games is stupid low I couldn't grind most of the days due to work + college. Didn't win that much, I think that HM2 doesn't track If I reentry on the Tourny and it is also bugging with Knockouts. Not exactly sure what's wrong with it but I always win money on knockouts even if I don't knock out anyone and get out early. I've made around 200$ on tournies give it or take. I'll keep track of my bankroll and whatever isn't made on cash games is made on tournies + Rakeback.


Could post some hands, but I'm also going to update in a bit with yesterdays session. I've decided to give Zoom tables a break and I'm playing mostly regular tables + some MTTs if I can grind for long.

So about yesterday. As I've said, I took a Zoom break, I've some hands there but I've closed the session and got the boost on the chest couple minutes later so I did it there.



Made a pretty stupid call when playing Zoom. I was a bit tired and wanted to get things done ASAP and levelled myself to a stupid call =/
Apart from that, I've played pretty well, could be better but I felt really good with my level of play.

vs reg, got really out of line in here but I've a couple of reasons for jamming turn. It's a a lot of BBs, he took 70secs, all of the Timebank, to call the flop raise and he's competent. Also, if I'm not continuing on that Turn there's probably not much merit in raising flop. He didn't tell me what he had but I'm pretty sure that he would only call me here with JJ, anyway, good sweat for me xD

vs weird reg, CO is big whale and I should maybe call pre to keep him in the pot. As played it's a fold, but the jam feels so fishy =/

vs reg, been trying to think of a couple of Donking spots. This looks like a good one, think that it's good that we don't have As, even tho that might reduce bluffing combos, theoretically, I don't think that the population bluffs that much but he can make a lighter call have that said Ace. Got to have a look at this one later

Played some poker last night and it went well. Looks like it is sort of easier to bumhunt on regular tables. I'm not afraid to battle some regs but it doesn't hurt to table select a bit. Not that experienced with regular tables but they seem easier to play over Zoom, obviously, I've a laughable sample and it looked like I started to run better



Played for 160 minutes, had a shaky start but binked 2 30% All ins and once it started going up, it didn't come down :b

biggest win of the night, he's a reg and after posting the hand on my discord group everyone agreed that it should be a 1/4 cbet with range. I wasn't exactly sure because I hate Jhigh flop on 4Bet pots but on J76r it makes sense. Maybe if it was more coordinated I would check range.
Either way, great level by him OTR, for me :b

Kinda ****y play by me OTR. Should also size it up OTT but my sizing OTR is just crap, it's not small enough to get calls from what I want but w/e. Not sure why he showed me his hand but thanks I guess

vs 66/6, could Cbet but nah. Dreamy turn Obviously, felt good to sort of sucking out =)

The funny run out one. It's been a while since I've had one AAvsKK set up where I had AAs. First one I get after my downswing we split xD
Shouldn't complain, because at the very least he didn't have a diamond on his hand




Not going to grind today. Tomorrow is my day off, off work so I went out with a couple of friends. Going to grind tomorrow for sure but also need to do some studying for college.
I should update this after every session since things are fresher in my brain. I'll try and do that

Rest is just a bunch of small pots that I've lost. Still up a BI on the month but I've to be honest, this session kinda hit me hard. Loosing so much money in a day is a bit painful. I've a test soon so I'm going to be mostly studying/working in the next days. I'll see how much poker I can do.

Probably going to hit NL10 tables in my next session, bankroll is at 611€ and I've 2k starpoints that I could use. I'll think about what I want to do. It's a shame because tables been juicy these last couple days and feels frustrating AF not being able to do much.
