About me: 22 Year old 2nd Year University student in England who studies Business and Management. Introduced to poker 3 years ago, immediately started playing live £30 tournaments and went busto because I was awful lolzzz! Pretty much whenever I have had savings I would bust it playing tournaments or cash game or degen stuff!
I have always thought that I was better than other people, because they would explain scenarios and I would listen and think lol omg he is awful, but then why has he got a bankroll and I haven’t? I understand the fact that people have jobs that allows them to have a roll but I see people winning in poker and they are not even all that great. This was my mentality until a few days ago when I realised that I wasn’t that great at poker and not my peers. This is a big reality check for me.
Ambitions: Be a sicko.. Buy my Parents a house
Have a big enough roll that I can do Sunday sweat sessions and bink tourneys! ( obvs after practicing them)
Have a good poker group that have similar goals.
WSOP!!!
Reality: I’m awful
I’m broke
Start from the bottom and go from there
Game type: Cash games due to them being harder to beat then tourney’s which is the general theory. If I manage to beat cash games then I believe this will teach me to be a way better postflop player and then I can just learn preflop scenarios later on if I want to play tourneys.
Also I can squeeze in sessions and quit if I have to leave for somewhere as I am quite busy right now.. Plan to be free in a couple of weeks where the challenge should get interesting.
Bankroll: $80
Cash games 1c/2c 6max normal
Unsure about zoom as of yet but might try it
Play time: Play whenever free, no minimum time set due to this demotivating me, Plan to grind LOADS after 2 weeks but will still play here and there to get out of 1c 2c.
BR management: have a shot at 1 stake higher if I reach 4 buyins in profit for that stake
If I bust my bankroll take a break and re-deposit
STAY AWAY FROM HU HYPERSSSSSSSSSS! Also STICK to the plan!

Wish me luck. Vamos!

Hands: 1345
Duration: 3 hours 30 mins
Tables: 4 1c2c normal 6 max
Overall feeling about session: Ran under ev which is ok but I enjoyed it allot, games are super soft and plenty of fish. Was unsure about some hands I played which I might post if similar situation occurs again.
Net Profit: $0.88
Bankroll: $80.88
All in EV: $5.85

Going to find it hard to do these daily so I shall just write it as an Update! Played a little bit when I can, got 2 more exams left for my uni then I can grind but for now I have to settle for the volume I am producing.
          Hands: 2239
          Duration: 288 mins
          Tables: 6-8 1c2c normal 6 max
Overall feeling about session: Gradually increased tables to 6 then 8 and found it not that hard to keep up with and it was enjoyable, I need to perhaps work a bit more on table selection but for now there are plenty of fish at the tables I sit in which is good. Not sure if its +ev for me to try to 10 table on my small screen laptop but 6 tabling and 8 tabling is fine for now.
          Net Profit in Session: $16.67
          Overall Net Profit: $17.55
          Bankroll: $97.54
          All in EV: $22.64
5nl- Not sure about my strategy to take a shot with $20 profit but I guess it can’t be too bad. When I reach $20 I will 2 table Nl5 for a session so that I can always top up as I play, as soon as I lose the $20 I shall go back and grind 2nl.
          Going good so far though!!

Played a little bit in my free time, shot took 5nl!! This is my sessions added up since my last update.
          Hands:1291
          Duration: 559 mins
          Tables: 2 tabling 5nl
Overall feeling about session(s): Immediately I found out that the key to making money in this stake was to table select relentlessly, if the fish or whale on my right leaves and the game dry’s out then just leave and find another table. Played 2 tables so that I can reload comfortably instead of multi-tabling 5nl and having the possibility of going bust. I think that when shot taking it is vital to pay full attention to your session.
Net Profit in session (sessions combined):$17.41
          Overall Net Profit: $37.43
          Bankroll:$115.42
          All in EV:$32.62
          Key points:
I had a few tilt issues in one session, since then I have noticed that when I get 2 outered and get annoyed and feel like I’m peeling too much coz of tilt I sit out the tables and end my session, this is key for me in order to manage the swings. How can I beat 50nl one day if I tilt on 5nl. I’m happy that I’m improving my mental aspect of the game.

          Also sigh at rake!
Plus nearly reached my $10 bonus so gna redeem that asap!

Another 5nl session throughout the day…
          Hands: 3291
          Duration: 478 mins
Tables: 4-6 5nl normal 6max tables depending on mood and tables itself.
Overall feeling about session (s): Felt that I played good, tilted a little bit then regrouped, got owned by a fish heads up for a buy in but that’s ok coz I stacked him on another table lolzzz!! I made some bad calls where I had AA on one table and a Flush on another and knew I was beat both times like 80% of the time but still called. Need to learn how to fold basically.
Apart from that I did make some good plays which I shall post later.
Net profit in session (sessions combined): $17.22
          Overall Net Profit: $54.65
Bankroll: $142.64 (Redeemed $10 Vip Steller Reward)
Key Points: I have some hands where I’m unsure in some spots, I will post it in this thread as well as on the micro cash section so it gets replies.
I’m having winning sessions constantly which is good but obviously 9kish hands is nothing really. My Plan at the start was to shot take 5nl when I reach from $80 to $100, then to shot take 10nl when I reach $140.. I have reached $140 but I’m unsure about 10nl and how different the games are from 5nl so if anyone can help that would be good, I might grind till say $160 or $180 then move up to 10nl to be on the safe side in case I get owned pretty quick before I can adjust lol
Have an exam Friday so doubt I will play but will probably make up for it on the weekend!
