Background:

Retired "pro", currently doing my last year at uni and haven't played any poker this year, but as I'm sure you guys can relate we love this game and always find our way back.
Historically very good winrates up to 200nl, mixed results in the 500-1k games.

How much am I up? About 3,50$

Now:

I found 75$ in my account and thought it would be nice to click some buttons again, and maybe start a little micro coaching project as I really enjoyed doing it about a year ago after I got a random request and turned a breakeven 10nl player into a 100nl crusher. And honestly, I enjoy doing the "bankroll challenge" thing from the bottom as well, + great way to gather some experience about the current Stars pool.

Will post some fun hands an random thought that come along on the road.

First session yesterday, started off with 4x zoom 5nl + netflix, maybe not the best focus but we'll get there!

After looking over the hands from my first session i was a bit upset with myself, sure it was the first session and it's kinda whatever, but I did a lot of dumb mistakes and payed off bunch of **** I shouldn't. So to punish myself I did something I think would be great for a lot of people, I forced myself to play one stake lower until I've had a session I feel good about.

Ohh god was it even harder to take the pots seriously at 2nl lol, but i found a solution!

"Show stack as BB" instead of $$
I never used this setting before really, and I hate when streamers use it as it removes a big part of funness/exitement (as a viewer) imo. But honestly, it help me instantly to focus on the game and fight for every BB like you should and playing got fun even at 2nl. Should probably get some volume in at every stake while I'm at it anyways, to find the exploits for each level.

Do you guys use it? Probably great for taking shots at higher stakes than you usually play as well.

-------------

Random thing, I never listened to rock growing up and thought I didn't like it much. But I started exploring like a week ago and there's some great stuff out there, shocker right?
One of the favorites so far: Blood Brothers, Papa Roach - https://open.spotify.com/track/2Ll44...e6ca4e6a2f44c2

Hey, well doing this mostly for the last 10 years has been both fun as f*** and tireing. Last year pushing hard playing 500-1knl$ while at university didnt do me any good, lets just say I didn't complete many of my courses so I felt I had to make a change and go back to stress free living

Playing this now is just for fun, instead of playing more computer games / watch netflix

Today I actually prepared myself before the session, looking at some ranges for the first time in forever and ran some sims.
Warming up my mind drastically changed my thinking while playing and I even had a manual notepad (pen and paper ) writing notes about my mistakes or pool tendencies I pick up on.
A+ for my effort today

Thx!

Not finished with anything but 2z/5z was a bit too boring and it hardly even looks like poker, but I'll throw in some sessions of it too, but I think there's more value in showing how hard 10z/25z can be crushed, hopefully

Finally made it to my daily "free time" so now it's a Pio session followed by 10z, I love it!

What? I've been winning every other day so not sure I'll call a 4bi drop a downswing

Just a little annoyed by the redline haha, but sometimes you just have to fold fold fold the rivers, in hindsight I should have folded even more as they had the nuts every time xd

Am I understanding your PIO image correctly, in that calling with a club in your hand is +EV in two instances but -EV in the other? I'm curious why that would be the case.

If he would call me with QQ with a club it would be + EV, him calling without a club is -EV, loosing 11,6bb on average. It's becouse having a club reduces the amount of flushes I can have in my jamming range. Does that makes sense?

It does, but why would holding the Qd (with the Qc) be worse than holding the heart or spade? I've never used PIO, but I'm assuming that the 3.3 and 5.8 against QQsc and QQhc means they are +EV calls and the -6.6 against QQdc means it is -EV? They all hold a club blocker so wouldn't they all be +EV calls?

I haven't deep dived that far into this hand, those small little nuances can be hard to understand. But I think having a diamond Q is bad becouse it blockes some of the Qx missed backdoor flush combos that i could have as bluffs here. Writing while playing so I'm not sure but it's usually something like that :P

Depends of what crushing means. 10bb is perfectly achievable imo, even with the rake.

Although you would have to overfold a lot on the river vs regs since population doesn't bluff.

Doubt anyone who is beating 10bb ev there is staying there for 100k hands.

True ofc, but as 100k hands goes fast some sicko should have done it :P

Yeah folding rivers is something I have to start doing more in big pots, had a river call efficiency of 0.4 yesterday haha
