After a long hiatus from my old PGC thread, I have decided to start another one.

I am a MTT player, coach and also a video producer for Deucescracked. This thread won't revolve around coaching and is certainly not a advert for more business (as I am booked up for the next 6 months anyhow)

I guess before I kick off some graphs because well they are not terrible and I hope to improve them further

As you can see I had a nice bink right when I started out as a full time player (always hated the word 'pro' not sure why)

Up top 109's which as you can see where nearly all my volume has been. I think I have about 15-20k missing on these graphs (old usernames on 888 ipoker, missed scores etc)





I am not really sure why I decided on a new thread and even the aims of it are not totally clear to me at this point.

I think a couple of reasons for the fresh start. I am a very different player from back when I started that thread both in style and lifestyle.

As some may know (as I have done a podcast on it and I coach a lot) I play a mainly off peak schedule now to allow me to spend more time with friends and family. In fact pretty much my family comes first in everything which puts a cap on my ROI for sure.

However, the benefits are huge I get to play a lower variance (in terms of field size) which for someone who plays a small amount of volume means I reach the 'long run' that much quicker and I get to have a more normal life.


For this year I have made a couple of conscious decisions on poker. I am going to try and increase volume for the year. Frankly it has always been my biggest leak as a player. I am more of a learner/teacher than a grinder.


I have added on some turbo’s into my schedule at the start and end of my sessions. I already did quite a bit of work on them being somewhat rusty and think I have made some big gains already

I am also going to be adding a extra playing day into my schedule and mixing it up to play peak games once a week in the evenings and also on Sundays once a month (maybe more) play a full peak schedule.

I guess this thread will be to document that over the course of the year.

The last thing I am toying with is doing a live stream as I know it’s getting quite big right now. I am in 2 minds on this, giving out some info on how i am playing especially versus other regs offset but getting a following and having fun while playing and connecting with people.

@buffyslayer1 is twitter where I will be updating some deep runs and general BS stuff. Recently decided to get back on the twitter game it can be fun and not sure why I got away from it.

Sub, beast results. Can you think of anyone with better stats? Also, how come your avg buyin is lower this yr? Turbos? How many tables do you play? glgl

it's higher actually last year was around 45 and prob the same this year

The turbo graph maybe is what you are looking at and that likely due to when I first started I played a lot of micro turbo's

I am sure there are people with better results and this year so far I am unhappy with my roi and also my previous ante game

I play between 8-16 tables normally try and keep between 10-12 though I keep regging to many recently since I added turbos. Maybe explains the meh pretty ante game results (bb/100)

I play alot of cubed and rebuy so not sure how accurate shakscope is for measuring those.

still doing it started a new one late last year

I was hoping to bring the first update of the thread today; however it was turbo night on stars which meant I could not play my session

So I did some study and practice instead, watched a old MTT video I had downloaded but was by a cash game guy

It was kind of interesting to hear his thoughts on what MTT regs ranges looked like in most spots and I came to the realization that I think I play my ranges pretty differently to other players. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad one lol

Spoke to my coach about it and he was of the opinion that it was a good thing and my approach to devloping ranges is on the right track.

I also played some cash just for practice really and I felt like it for the first time in ages, put in about 500-600 hands of 50nl rush and felt pretty good about all the spots I faced which was nice.

About to now put in some work on some ranges of mine that I think are kind of off base and need extra work and I have been putting it off for ages.

Not really the best start when a big goal of this thread is to put in extra volume and already day 1 of thread I am not playing

Nothing special to write home about with today's session

Got a 2nd in FTP 25fo, 3rd in a 50fo and 4th in a 50 turbo

The HU was pretty annoying felt like I played pretty well today and getting back to playing A game consistently. Overall a breakeven day but could have easily been a nicely profitable day.
That's the nature of MTTs though you have many days like this one and it's important not to punt anything off because day savers are well day savers
