Both Mr.Action & Mr. Spiderweb. And a history of a extinct stud game Both Mr.Action & Mr. Spiderweb. And a history of a extinct stud game

Let me begin with writing down the first type of poker I have ever played.
It is a stud variant game that used to play in my family...
With my grandfather and his generation of siblings in our extended family pass away, I believe this game is extinct. They used to play this stud game in Lunar calendar festival during our family gather.
My family does not have a name for it( they call it poker in contrast to other strategy game they played(like ma-jiang, pai-jiu, Wei-qi(GO),xiang-qi(chinese chess)). You can call it "host stud” because this game is using a host card as community card in the beginning of the hand.

This is a stud game which usually play as hi/lo 8 OR just straight high
a typical 1/2/7/14 game
$1 ante , 4-8 players
Dealer shuttle up, cut, then place the first card in the deck face up as a community card in the middle, called host card, everyone can use that card.
Then without burn card, players are dealt 1 card face down, 1 card face up
Player who has the lowest card has to bring-in for $2
if 2 people has same card then rank high card by suit, club is smallest or first to act, then is diamond, then heart, then spade. 2c is the lowest card
player can compete to 7, next player can raise to 14
then dealer burn one card then dealt another 2 card, 1 card down and 1 card up.
now high hand on the board act first, AAX>KKX etc....if no one has paired, then high card act first (A high act first)
another betting round 7/14
then dealer burn one card then dealt 6th street to each player face up, follow by one round of betting
then dealer burn one card then dealt 7th street to each player face up, follow by one round of betting
then show down
Overall, this game is like normal stud hi/lo
With 1community1down1up to start with one bet round, then 1down1up with one bet round, then 1up bet, 1up bet. This game can be also play in spread limit.

This game can be usually play in 9-10 ppl as well (because every player in that game become some sort of expert and does not continue if catch bad on third or fifth street)
Because every time my grandfather host his game, there are 10ppl or so wants to play, they like to play one table ( it is more like a family/friend grather rather than a serious stud cash game) because they wants to talk to each other. If there are 9 or 10 ppl, then the last card is also a host card ( they call it double host ) which is a community card. Dealer will place the last card in the deck face up in the middle as second community card. In double host game, there is no burn card. The limit may go down as low as 1/2/5/10 when 4 handed, go high as high as 1/2/8/16 when 10 handed.

I learn and play this game when I was young (clearly under legal gambling age in china) using pennies. Adults play 100 times (one penny->1dollar and they count money outside) if junior is on the table.
I like to play a variety of strategy games (namely chess, chinese chess, GO and bridge) and stud just another one on my list.
When I first play this game, I lost my penny jar very quickly. But later I learn how to play this game and start beating family members
I quickly notice that the key to success is to play tight on 3rd and 5th street.
The host card basically determine the high hands strength. Because with high host card, lots of Lo hand is not worth to see additional street unless hole card is A2 or A3.
3 razz card is almost hard to play because opponent can easily make lower hand and you might catch bad.
Also host card is live or not Is an important factor as well because many times you do not wanna catch the host card (unless it is a high pair or you roll up/fills up)
Obviously that if host card is below 8 there is a war on Lo hand and low straight card. If the host card is above 8 then it is like stud hi. If the host card is an A then it become very tricky to play.
I have a secret index card notes about how to play this game ( about 400 cards) which record in very detail.

Later when I become order, I start to play money with family member and I can win up to 400$ a night during lunar holiday. I was big money to me but I was not sensitive with the fact that poker can help me win money which other strategy game barely can. My focus was still on chess and GO because poker (card game) is not a main thing in China. Also, my family allow me to win money because they know that once I go out the family house I can't find any similar game. And they are right, because gambling is illegal in China. It was not until I come to America that I pick up poker, but time has changed because holdem and omaha has become a big game, and stud was rarely played.
The information on 3th 5th street for regular stud game is much less than my family host stud game but they are still similar.

Now more than half of my family member who play that game pasted away. And I decide to share this game and this structure to everyone.
