Have been running a bit bad in the start of the week but have put in more time into studying. Even if I’m having some bad beat I stay focused and don’t tilt. I feel more confident at the tables than I did before. The biggest leak for me is that sometime have hard time quitting some guys that has won against me. I don’t play poker to win against my opponent I play it because I want to make money. Some opponents is not profitable to play so I should just quit.

I made some flashcards on cram.com to train all the standard lines. I also made simple program in Java to train multiplication of outs etc. I learn a lot in coaching as well.

Other than that I got a new keyboard and headphones I can really recommend the headphones. The keyboard is some gaming **** that I won in a raffle for free. It sounds like hell but the keys feels good. I don’t know if I will be able to use it during the night because it sounds like someone is writing on one of those old typewriters.

If anyone is looking for new headphones I can recommend these:

—————————————————————————————————————————————————— ——————————————

This week I ended with 30 euro in profit. I have not been playing my A-game and have also been unlucky. Some sessions I have lost many all-ins where I have been 70 % favorite but still managed to stay calm and don’t tilt. I still feel confident at the tables but still have some mindset and villain selection leaks. I also had a very giving coaching session where I found a huge leak in my game. I have been playing kind of simple standard lines poker and it is now time to put in some more advanced stuff.

I also made a poker equity training program in java. I miss programming a bit. It takes my mind of everything around me and I only focus on the problem before me. It was good to clear my mind and I also ended up with a good program. The program is basically a equity training tool like the homework I did. You get a board and two hole cards shown to you and you put in a guess and press enter. After you press enter the real equities show up and you can see if you guessed closed. Then you can just get another board and keep training.

Outside of poker I’m going to start working as a lecturer on Tuesday. I’m both nervous and look forward to it! Hopefully I wont make a fool of myself infront of 20 people

Here is a picture of the program I made

Hello, I was referring to three different parts of homework in my previous post. I am happy to see you have already included the 'summary' part!

*Stating the supposition(?not 100% certain I am using correct word here) (what you think about the situation you are about to start working on);
* then working on the issue (equity analysis etc.);
* finally summarizing your findings

I do believe that the extra time spent on writing these down will be beneficial.

Keep up the good work and good luck will follow

Hehe I might share it later in the week!

I took day off on monday and was going to reset my sleeping pattern by not sleeping so I went to sleep kind of early and woke up on Tuesday tired as **** :S. I had slept like 12 hours. I went to school to have meeting with the lead lecturer in the course I’m going to be lecturer in. He told us that we should only help the students and not prepare anything else than doing the exercises before so we can help. I went home and was still very tired. I went back to school to have my lecture and it went good! It was a bit boring because the exercises was very easy and many got done without help and left early. I also did one exercise on the black board and it went fine aswell .

After I got home I was going to play some poker but I was still very tired. I coulden’t understand how I could be so tired and my roommate was also tired so we thought we had gotten Ebola . I went to sleep again and woke up after some hours and started grinding. It went fine +200 euro so I’m happy. So my try to reset my sleeping pattern was a failure. Maybe I can sleep less tonight and go up early tomorrow!

The start of the week has gone better than last week and in today’s coaching we found a huge leak I have that I will fix in the future. I’m also going to start playing NL100! Hopefully I will run good and the move up will go smooth!

I have felt very tired lately but today I went to the gym so hopefully I will feel more alert tomorrow. We got snow in Sweden today as well!

Good luck at 100NL!

And a nice start at giving lectures, but what class exactly do you teach? I'm an university student too and thinking of teaching as well

Thanks a lot! I lecture a basic course in mathematical statistics. It is very fun this far and also nice with some cash!

First time on NL100 yesterday and it felt good! It was not much different from NL50 but I was a bit unused to the betsizes. I even limped a few times because I thought I was in the BB . At one point I was down 250 euro but I figured out how to exploit an opponent that was floating me a lot and I won 200 euros from him and in the end of the session I was 50 euro plus!

I also made a Youtube video on how to use the equity program I made. I hope you like it!

Thanks alot Uhlvar for uploading your program.

I have just used it while never having studied equity or any mathetmatics before.

I guessed 70% of all example hands at the exact or almost exact equity percentage. Would I be considered a natural talent? You know the kinda guy that can accomplish alot with just a bit of studying and alot of practise.

It's kind of a dilemma for me because I feel like I'm this kinda player and to much studying might actually ruin my edge somehow.

What's your take on this?

Also I had one more totally different question, if you had to start all over again with say a $300-$400 bankroll.
Which format would you learn to build up to higher limits?

Guessing 70 % right is impressive! How long did you take before you guessed? If you did it in under 5 seconds I would consider you a natural talent

Now if you study when you are a natural talent I really do not think it will ruin your edge, how would it do that? It would most likely give you a bigger edge.

If I had to start over again I would still play Heads-up. I like it because it always require you to think a lot when you play. If you play 9-max or MTT grinding I would feel that I went on autopilot to often, that is one reason I switched to Heads-up. I also believe that once you master Heads-up you can master any other format as well. Maybe if i started from absolute zero playing 9-max would be better to learn the basics.

Hey thanks for the reply.

I did most of them in 5-10 secs.
Not trying to say studying is bad but it's just that alot of people are learning from the same material. I thought it might've been a good idea to develop your own style of play.

But now I realized studying contains most facts and after that it's just adapting to your opponent I guess.

I'm going to try some HU SNG since I already played alot of 45 mans and MTT's.

Thanks again for your reply and I'll be following.

I have been playing about 2 k hands on nl100 and in the start it was a bit scary. Won some huge 200 euro pots that got me a bit nervous. I’m starting to feel more confident after 2 k hands and hopefully I will manage to keep winning on nl100. I’m very very cautious when I select villains and it has been working good!

Here is graph of my start on nl100:

Things are going great in poker and I keep playing solid. I have now made more or less a habit of playing slow. It makes me calm and in control of my feelings etc. Haven’t had many red days for the past week so my bankroll keeps growing.

There is so much things I have to do in poker that I spend all my waking hours infront of the computer. I have started to grow a bigger belly so need to start cutting some calories in the future.

I have started to make more notes when I play. I have worked a bit on how I make notes and what to make note of etc. My reads improve a lot when I make good notes and I make greater adaption. I work a lot on my game the past few days with new material from the program.

My life consists of almost only poker atm and I really like it. I feel that I get good rewards when I see that my hard work pays off.

I enjoy a lot being a teacher twice a week. I have always liked to help others learn and it is sometimes challenging for me to explain to some people. There is a girl that asks me for help a lot and she talks very loud so everyone in the classroom can hear. She sometimes gets upset because I don’t explain the way she wants or when she doesn’t understand something. She also asks very fundamental questions but I feel that she learns a lot when I help her!

Also there is a guy that always tries to do some fancy solutions to some of the tasks. It is sometimes very clever ways that doesn’t work but he is smart to come up with them. Then when I explain why it doesn’t work he asks very good follow up questions and he also learns a lot!

Look at this guy on pokerstars:

Today I took day off and the first thing I did was to clean my room then I threw out every carbohydrate food I had in the kitchen. It is time to implement more healthy foods. I think it will improve my focus a lot. After that I went to my parents summerhouse to relax. It is very beautiful place close to a lake but it was too cold for a swim!

I took two pictures of the view from the house:

Poker was a bit rough this week. I’m happy with my villain selection and planning the hand. I got some nasty suck outs but it did not affect my game much. I end this week -330 euro but I’m very satisfied with my progress with studying the new CFP material.

I have not eaten any carbohydrates now for 3 days. I found some nice salad recipes and I really enjoy them. I have not felt so good the past few days and I think it is because my body is not used to burning fat. I got very easily irritated the first day and I got some suck outs and had to quit because I got very irritated.. Today I feel better and I think it will continue to get better if I keep going with the new diet.

I have eaten like this before and it is so much easier. I only have to eat once a day and my energy levels is constant during the day. The biggest reasons I cut out all carbs is that the food with carbs is usually not healthy. I know not ALL food with carbs is unhealthy but the stuff that I have time to prepare is! I also get much energy for like 2 hours then I drop when I eat carbs. The tricky part is not falling back to old habits and keep my body in ketosis for as long as possible. When I did it before I could go without food for 24 hours with no problem and my concentration was super-high.

Poker is going good I learn very much. It feels like I have so much to learn and limited time to learn it. When I studied for exams I used to cram the courses in 2 weeks before the exams and now it feels like I have cram week every day because I have so much to learn!

I’m happy with my results in November but there is a lof of improvements that can be done. I had some bad luck this month. Playing vs calling-stations that goes god-mode on the river is so annoying. I still managed to stay solid and not tilt. Usually I end up winning all the money but then the rake has taken much if not all of the profit. Winning a flip where I have 70 % chance to win feels amazing. I learnt a lot this week and hopefully December will be better!

More about my week in my video!

I only have 1 lecture left in statistic and I don’t regret taking the job! I get very good pay for the work I do and it is fun to help others. I got lecture on Friday morning as well and on those lectures only like 5 people show up and they don’t ask so many question so I just sit and stare for most of the time. It is also a good opportunity to leave home and meet other people.

Today I hit stop-loss for the first time in a while. I don’t think I played bad I just got some bad lucks. Can’t seem to win all-ins when I’m favorite and villain is making trips on the river too often. I don’t feel so much about it, **** happens. I know that I will become a solid winner in the future and now I learn so much that it is enough for me.

I have played around with my hand equity program so much that I remember some of the hands that I put in it, I might have to add more hands soon!

This week I have not had much luck in poker. I have learned a lot about when to 3 BAR and more advanced stuff which is great. I feel that I’m making a lot of progress.

On Friday I took a day off and went on a seating with only the males in my program. It was very manly and there was female waitresses with very little cloth . There were also girls from other program that came and stripped for us. It was one of the best seating’s I’ve went to but I didn’t feel so good after it, too much alcohol , so I went home instead of going to the night club. It was probably a good decision because I was not so tired on Saturday.
