Blood Run tourney: 300 reviews in 2016 Blood Run tourney: 300 reviews in 2016

Hi 2+2

im long time reader but now as i have a challenge in mind finally made an account

the challenge:

i will review 300 mtt hand histories this year, max 1/day and try to get the most out of that review time by posting about it.

i know for many players this is not really a challenge, but if i want to be honest i'd be happy just reviewing 50 of my HHs last year (and even less were meaningful reviews). so for my case doing 300 "good" reviews this year would be indeed a big improvement. this i hope will be causing some discussion revolve around either the plays or the routines how to study better
i will try to not post any SNs, graphs, volume or opinions about particular players to keep the thread true to its purpose except when its time for celebrating a bigger score thanks to these reviews

about me:

im just a late 20s player from eastern europe playing low stakes mtts. i played sngs for a long time and really liked it, especially the turbos (6, 9, 45 & 180mans) but never felt the same about hypers and swtiched to mtts 1.5 years ago.
i had a lot of doubt earlier but seeing recent changes in the poker economy im very glad sticking with my decision. so im afraid if i would be the next biggest star we would already know it, but lets hope i can become a good player at least
i have a longtime relationship so the second greatest challenge for me is trying to live as a serious poker player should and not be a total dick to my gf (as planning, work hours etc goes) while presenting myself at least a little reasonable toward "everyday people". so i dont expect too many wicked "poker living" stories coming up

i also have some general goals ongoing like decreasing my turbo ratio, sticking/working on a better sleeping schedule + more, but this thread is the most critical I want to focus on first

thank you in advance if u leaving a comment & good luck everyone

ill post the questionable hands ive remained doubtful for first than the review summary when im finished the HH.

villain had somewhat identical stats to a reg but only 50 sample. this was a PSKO game, starting
bounty on both of us. first i really havent liked my fold esp bc of the backdoor draw but rereasing
seems to be pretty bad for our range (both value/semibluff/air). altought i expect villain to open wide dont think hed put in more chips with anything we beat (22-TT, weaker Js.), let alone going broke on
them. i guess my bottom line for this hand is no point to create a marginal spot out of a low equity
hand, but maybe thats just too soft approach?

by this hand happened i have struggled to get into spot or when it happened got folded there. also the table started to waking up and they had also begin to play back at me. villain was doing this since the start lately with an increasing frequency (and success), so if anything hes ranges just expanded doing this reshoving.
its pretty easy to math out as we need 45% for calling, it really comes down to how many weaker Aces, King (if at all?) and <JJ pockets in his range.
we need him to shove 66+,AJo+,KQs or lighter for 45% and would be totaling around 60-65% vs any weaker range we can reasonably expect... safe to think hes reshoving at least that wide, altought im not happy for our equity ive gone by my gut and called, atleast ran good hand vs hand wise.
i could really just argue with myself for both folding and calling so very interested how much of an obvious call or fold this is for others

villain has reggish stats/play nothing unusual so far... here not sure about the river size, i was probably thinking that im going for safe instead of
paying his valuechecking range for making more on his bluffcatching. trying to not be results oriented on this one overall this size is ok i think?

i feel calling flop is a bit over the top, not sure if i can do this as the board just really dry and causing blatant obvious action most of the times. was betting turn for protection i dont think theres anything more to this hand as villain will be just giving up having seen the std. cbet
didnt work and its important to avoid river massacre in these spots where we have no idea where we at in the end.

... and this was it, chopped my stack twice with flips than doubled from 8 to 16BBs followed by shoving AJs from MP into BBs KK. "just an other tick in the graph"

          summary:
this was the most well-behaving table i played for long i think, with every player having identical stats/play to a reg, altought in my opinion a bit on the tighter side but thats nothing horrible early stages still it was not like anyone would be overfolding horribly or trying too hard... the only non-standard/unusual dynamic were a guy with reggish stats just opening or reraising for his whole stack but definitely with the frequencies it was visible he tries to implement some strategy with this. the PSKO of course rewards this _to some degree_ and when he showdowned it was a good hand still if i have to name someone he would be the "bad player" at the table, but thats about it.

          play quality: 4/10

in the scale of 1 (playing blackout drunk) to 10 (3 street xr-bluffing the scoop highroller successfully) i still cant give more than 4 :/. its just baffling because a lot of mistakes have been a "couldve played better" type of ones and aiding them really just comes down to paying attention/right mentality etc... i understand these never will be "0" but theres just way too many occasions i could spot: yes on the fly defending J7o vs BTN doesnt seems great and cbetting arent that always so obvious right when playing the hand blabla...these spots just really not the end of the world, but you know how they say "small pieces adds up to a whole lot" and its not a good thing to turn down money when all should i do is clicking a button for it

it has been a standard and gray table but so did was my play. im much more happy about when i know i played creative and thoughful, even fancy despite making some clear mistakes than just finding myself playing bland and standard over and over... however it doesnt work like deciding to be creative and really go on about it, but i feel there was a little more on the table for this aspect too that i left there.

it was not the best result in the world but for me its really big that i completed a whole HH with somewhat meaningful analysis . also it is just a good thing ill be playing with more knowledge this evening than before, so was well worth it

until the next post good luck
