wadup peepz,

no updates bc nothing exciting happend last couple days, had a friend visit from home which is alwaays nice, had a few drinks and a few foods, even went to the gym with him for first time since 2010 but second day he ended up getting some kinda food poisoning so rip no going out happened.

pokerwise both sudnay and today went really meh. played well and had no runs anywhere so ya ul gg rip and with that the month is pretty much done, didnt do too well financially but considering that i spent a week at home and skipped a bunch of other sessions its not too bad. pretty much a breakeven month pokerwise, lost my expenses pretty much.

tomorrow is halloween whch should give some fun photos which i ll post on wednesday when i m not dying of hangovers anymore then well have some issues to sort with the apartment

plan going forward is to finish the year strong both in terms of poker - i plan on grinding 2x peaktiem 2x offpeak per week all the way throughout november starting this weekend - as well as fitness. i ve been makingg strides in the weight department, hoping to hit peak in all exercised by the end of the year which will be very hard but been keeping up with my rythm so theres that.

i got absolutely fkn skinned this weekend:



plus i destroyed my phone on wednesday in da club so bought a new iphone yday. expesive weekend rip rip. day off tomorrow and sicne i didnt make day 2 in anything i ll switch back to offpeak until sunday. think i came up with a nice balanced approach to my grind where i mainly play offpeak during the week and then sundays i play late, if i make day 2 which plays out on tuesday i ll not reset on monday but if i do i ll go back to early by tuesday.

what is up fellas, somehow havent been updating lately despite putting in decent volume in the gym in the lab and at the tables. dont really have topo much to report tho on any front really. hit a big downer last week in terms of psyche for some reason ( i think its a mix of playing back to back full 14 hour sessions on saturday+sunday, and losing bricks in both days, which naturally leads to a death monday but somehow i wasnt able to recover until saturday from that) so didnt really put in any meaningful volume last week. went to the gym somehow but had to force myself much later than planned originally on one day and ran into extreme peak traffic which sucked cuz waiting times went thru the roof, and then i ended up almost passing out bc my body was just completely rekt, and one more time on saturday which went much smoother

gf and i have made a habit of doing a date night once a week where one of us picks what we do and sat was her pick so we went to one of the best asian places i ve ever been at. it does this all you can eat deal for like 20€ but if u dont finish more than one dish (they come in small portions so u can actually try out a bunch of things) u have to pay for that portion, to reduce wasteage which i thought was really nice. orders happened via tablets and the kitchen was huge and literally behind us making for a real nice cozy feel.

think sunday went pretty meh. i managed to come 3rd in the sunday starter for like 3.6k but didnt have much else so made only a tiny bit of profit. gotta say tho that party is hitting its stride with the recent developments in the schedule. sudnay was legit first time in laif i didnt have the biggest portion of buyins on stars which says a lot. gotta sadly admit that the party increase has happened to the detriment of my 888 volume tho. gotta try and make myself skip more slave timbeys on aidsstars and support the good guys. i ve been invited into the players skype group for getting feedback for party and kinda like what s been happening there. crossing my fingers my suggestions get implemented, would be so huge both for me and the site tbh

lastly, i started dabbling in crypto. but being the fish that i am i bought bitcoiun cash pretty close to its peak 3 days back scared i d miss out on the massive upswing it was inevitably having and lost a bunch but swapped that for bitcoin today and am back to zero overall which is nice. gonna skip the short term nonsense as i m jsut too big a whale and do a bucnh of readingbefore doing the next idiot move in that space

anybody going to the gym 3 days a week who can recommend me a training plan that doesnt combine back and biceps but makes sure the biceps are hit twice a weeek? ( i.e. back on one day and straight up biceps on a diff one)? seems much smarter to not have a full week off between biceps sessions


thinking about doing chest+bi+shoulder back+tri+abs legs. seems counterintuitive but i think this might be better until i plateau which wont happen in any near future. anybody have experience with a plan similar to this?

I had my best early gains when doing a fullbody compound routine instead of iso splits. It sounds "wrong" but I saw great results doing hypertrophy/strength alternates every other day with the big lifts, supplemented by secondary lifts on the pump days. Ie hypt days rotate through the targets with 2 lifts for each, chest flbch/inclbch, delts ohp/flys, tris dips/skullcrushers, etc with reps 12x10x8 or 3x10 with 60-90secs between, then the next workout hit the big olys 5x5 or less for max power with longer breaks and big focus on form (alternating squat/flbch/dead and squat/ohp/rows, cleans once experienced). No idea why it worked so well, perhaps the increased numbers from power days let me lift bigger faster on volume days. Guys who start out with "Mon bi/tri, tues delt/back, weds quads/wheels" and only hit each area once per week are wasting a foundation imo.

Obv subjective, and depends a lot on your goals. Easy to overdo it and wear down your cns. Would argue a well-planned macro diet (eg 40/40/20 p/c/f gain, 55/25/20 p/c/f cut) is even more crucial than the specific lifts when it comes to size. Trying to gain and cut simultaneously is futile.

Poker: sicko, crusher, etc.

id recommend keeping things simple (things in brackets somewhat optional):

option 1:
  • Day 1: CHEST (Shoulders, arms)
  • Day 2: DEADLIFT (traps, back)
  • Day 3: SQUAT (shoulders, back, lats, arms)

you could just do the big 3 and anything else is a bonus.

If you goal is just huge arms and you want to do 2 days a week on biceps with 3 workout days and no arms on back days then..... erm idk really

potential GUN plan:
  • Day1: ARMS
  • Day2: SQUAT + DEADLIFT
  • Day3: CHEST, SHOULDERS, ARMS

why the desire to keep biceps separate from back?

also razor makes some great points and he is right about prioritising the diet and macros etc, but i'm sure you know that

bench, squat and deadlift the big 3 compounds, other lifts are just additional. take a rest day inbetween.
triceps > biceps but you can add some bicep curls if you rly want to focus on that
diet is arguably even more important than workout itself
make sure to keep good form/posture on your lifts (especially deadlift) or you're gonna end up hurting yourself

thanks for the feedback lads. will give this all a couple thorough reads tomorrow before my gym sesh. i m semi sick so hope i have a health uptick overnigth and not the other way.

played a session today and had a bunch of runs that again didnt pan out. bit lame to have a bunch of cant close weeks/months since wcoop but not much i can do but play well which i think i ve been doing this month specifically.

so day off tomororw for refuelling and gym then big grind on friday, off saturday and back for ze sundeh. holla

Hey,

Do you have any experience with personal trainer? I have one for a few months already and basically tell him how I want to train, what do I want to work on and just give him a hell of a lot of feedback and it works really well for me

It's also a really cheap investment for us poker players and it pays off itself really fast (you don't have to create your own workouts, he can probably tailor them better towards your needs, you have more time to do your thing, you can use your time more efficiently etc)

i go on a limb here and will tell you that he most certainly has no experience w a PT. that kid wouldnt flip me for a coffee and there is no way in hell he would waste money on something he can all do himself.
with his bodytype you dont really need to pay for anything

Don’t have a personal trainer and mostly despite it sounding really stupid what Tim said. I build muscle relatively easy so just doing things in a non dumb way pretty much gets the job done for me. Basically the only assistance I could use is when it comes to nutrition but tbh wouldn’t hurt to switch that up all myself as well. Found love for chicken and veg this last month which should cover about 50% of my intake going forward. And since i plan on doing some form of normal bulk (not dirty and not lean either) it’s prob gonna be just fine.

Don't limit yourself to a fixed number of sets and reps. You have to lift so hard that you close to ****ting your pants. Don't hold in the air though thats trying to leave your body,just let it go.
