hi

managed to not sleep great one more time to make it 4 nigths in a row. got the massage which was amazing as usual and on way home bought some herbal sleep tea, drank that then spent the following 4 hours tryign to nap unsuccessfully. wee

played out my day 2s today and played a smallish session startign at the back end of peaktime, played alright, made another day 2 so playing tomorrow. gonna make another one of these cups and do my shoulder exercizes now. c ya tomorrow

i mean by default has to be the highest buyin games that run that arent turbo/ hyper

given i dont currently play and dont really forsee myself playing any $1k+ buyin timbeys outside of series highest $ev for myself has to be:

$530 pko party (half rake)
$530 pko stars (reentry so on paper tougher field)

250€ highroller french stars
250€ highroller wina (reentry and 2€ more rake)

$215 pko party (half rake)

might be overestimating the rake effects on the stars vs party ones but feels like the extra 3% of buyin that doesnt go to rake should have a reasonable high effekt o overall roi. that said its close between these two always, i just prefer no reentries.

hi went to bed at precisely 3am last night. was unable to sleep until at least 4:30, then woke up at 8:07 am when gf left the house. usually i am about 65% to sleep through the sound the door makes so lost a race there, somehow after aboutan hour i managed to fall asleep again and sleep till about 1:30 pm. was massive success in that regard, normally being awake once means rip. so ya went grocery shopping cooked some food and got on the grind at 4:30 pm

honestly my focus levels were pretty low all day, but i m just happy i managed to have a productive day after waking at 8am. didnt run particularly well, couldnt capitalize on my day 2 which i started 5/85, lost every pot to bust around 25th and got 20th in the 530$ pko on stars for my first high stakes cash this year. sad bc i had a reasonably large stack 15 before the money. owell

probably taking tomorrow off and playing thursday as my last session of the week. maybe manage to squeeze a super late half session in tomorrow evening. peace

heya no i havent but i may or may not have figured out one possible reason. last night i didnt play a session, i just chilled and skipped my shoulder workout as well late at night and managed to fall asleep with no issues.

so high blood pressure/ adrenaline may have been the issue. while i have not too many ways to prevent the adrenaline part if a session does last late into the night i can make sure not to do any sports just before sleep, so pushed my shoulder things into first thing after waking up instead now. not sure if i ll ply another session tonight, not really feeling it, also getting visited for about a week by a very good friend to grind together. so next week gonna be prettty strong volume wise, may even end up firing saturday, sunday and monday b2b2b. so still reasonable chance to get to 3.5 sessions this week.

thanks for the feedback, watched a chunk of the first vid and it resonated pretty hard with whats been going on for me so adjusted to getting up asap after i wake up and first thing doing my shoulder workout before everything else. been working reasonably nicely, so will keep it up

good freind of mine came to visit today so we started day 1 of likely 5 back to back grinding days. gonna have a bunch of reviews at the start of the days as well. should be fun

session itself went pretty poorly today, got in 5.2k in buyins having started at 6pm which is amazing, managed a litttle daysaver :



but that doesnt cut it if u brick everything else.

got a day 2 on winamax tomorrow in a 250€ 6max timbey with 20k€ up top so gonna play slightly lower count tomorrow and focus on that. been a while since i won a magnum bottle of champagne

had a pretty lame session. started pretty late as i intended to and really enjoyed that grind. gonna be doing the late grind on as many days as i can for the next 2 weeks for sure. but the session was lame because i had these finishes:



apart from the second from the top each of these had 15k+ up top. doesnt help that my friend ended up 7th in a timbey with 24k up top either. sometimes timbeys stink

good news is i made day 2 in the biggest mtt of the day which has somewhere around 250k for first so just gonna win that then fly into the tropics afterwards.

Re sleep,

Your chief mechanism in fixing sleep pattern is light hitting your eyes which stimulates a bunch of non visual receptors that are wired straight to your nervous system -> major hormonal regulation and setting of circadian clock. Exercise is secondary.

Example here where male college students try to regulate sleep by,

1 - sitting outside for 30 mins at noon
2 - running indoors for 30 mins at noon
3 - running outdoors for 30 mins at noon
Control group does f all indoors, so average poker player

Dropped the gym goal for now, happy doing daily upper body routine. Gonna try and add more muscle groups to my workout, it’s gotten a little stale but feels great to start the day with a little exercise still

It's linear, time x intensity, to a saturation point where the response just tapers off. This is a bit dense at first glance but it's all you need to know in one graph. And keep in mind direct sun is like 50-120k lux so if you have the luxury of direct sun for the day you'll run up that curve in a couple of mins.

so ya week overall was reasonably productive but def nothing to write home about. gonna play a smallish session tomrroow becasue at 6:30 am on monday i have a surgery wheere they will remove the two screws they put in there last time. should be a small procedure, not scheduled to spend even the afternoon in there so reasonably confident i ll at least be able to cook next week. not really going to set any goals until i get back on monday because no idea if i ll have a sling to wear/ be in any pain etc. have physio scheduled for wednesday and that is about everything i can say about next week.

Hola

Played a smallish Sunday session yday and made some profit but bittersweet

14th $215 pko party
9th $215 deepstack party
76th $215 Sunday warmup

Folded two flushes on f2t in the deepstack one correctly one almost definitely wrongly then busted in boring fashion. Was quite the eye opening session into what I need to work on in the next weeks and months. Found a pretty glaring explo leak that has gotten into my subconscious through playing low and midstakes vs brain dead people for too long.
