Does taking a tug count as a "shoulder thing?" It should. But then you might overshoot the quota.

lol prob should but its prob not as good for getting range of motion back to maximum as other options

forgot tto update this on sudnay so here goes recp for last week

Quote:
[X] 3 sessions
played thrice and did well which was a very nice change of pace
Quote:
[ ] 8 hours review
did at most 3 but did some which given my struggle lately with getting back into it i ll cound as a quarter win
Quote:
[ ] 5 shoulder things (physio/massage/stretch at home/gym)
failed super hard at this liekly less than thrice (should prob follow yugis advice maybe would help)
Quote:
[X] cook 3+ times
prob cooked 5 times or so. recently found a nice recipe for classic napoli style pizza which my gf and i are big fans of so we did that multiple times over the last week trying to optimize dough quality, toppings and baking in a non optimal standard oven. third time's a charm apparently cuz that time it came out absolutely amazing. about to make one from the last bit of pizza dough as i write this actually haha

Quote:
[X] sort out xmas
flights sorted and gifts almost done, again about to finalize my plans today

decent week overall and started this week strong with the same goals and actually being on ace for all oof them. long may it continue.

will update probably once more this year maybe twice if i feel frisky. if not ...

MERRY XMAS to all that bother reading my ramblings and happy holidays

peace

Re: *** blakkman08 2k19 goals and progress thread ***

OIOI time to get the bad and dirty out the way and wrap up what was by a very big bmargin my worst year in poker

poker goals for 2019

Quote:
[ ] play 145 sessions (sounds like not much but every session is 11+ hours of high intensity multitabling)
haha man thats shameful to even write but i only played 95 sessions total. hard to describe the level of fail that ended up being
Quote:
[ ] play an abi of $110 over the year (was $78 in 2018)
i ended up cutting the upper end of my ABI towards the end of the year and fully switched to the morning schedule which runs at about 50-60$ abi. despite that my yearly abi was 95 so i gues if the downswing hadnt hit as hard as it did i d have easily managed that. shrugs,
Quote:
[ ] total buyins of >$700k
failed due to both of the above. bit above 400k
Quote:
[ ] 4 verbal reviews every month
i d assume my average over the year was 2.5 with the bulk of that coming from the time from jan to may
Quote:
[ ] go over 30 tagged hands every week (legit only started marking hands two weeks ago and suprise its a great way to study)
probably averaged about7 if i had to guess, again most of this coming from the first third of the year
Quote:
[X] in general dont be too nitty with game selection and play the game s i m supposed to to maximize my ev
haha well i certainly tried but it backfired hard. was a very valuable experience tho and if i went back in time i d probably play every single high stakes game i played this year. NO RAGRETS
Quote:
[ ] play live poker in 2 countries that are not austria (really gotta make an efort to get comfortable playing this going forward)
played in barcelona and thats it. likely woulda had this if i hadnt lost motivation and bankroll

Quote:
non poker goals for 2019

[ ] get into the best physical shape i ve ever been in (includes indurance)
absolutely hardcore failed this. was on track but the screw removal surgery and many many instances of myself getting sick made it hard to maintain a schedule, lack of poker motivation carried over into all aspects of my life around september october and so i m basically back to where i started last year, maybe a tad behind.
Quote:
[ ] reduce out of house eating further/ increase % of food cooked
quite surprised i failed this actually as i ve put in some serious effort into cooking majority of the meals i eat. i basically spent about the same on out of house food as the yer before and there was a noticeable increase in out of house food in the months i was at my worst. obviously easy goal to hit if i keep checking myself
Quote:
[X] do laundry every week ( i m so bad at this currently)
pretty happy there
Quote:
[ ] make a conscious effort to not waste time, ther always is somehting productive to do.
lold reading this.

so ya. 2019 i was at my aboslute nut lowest point multiple times and it took its toll. every aspect of my life ended up suffering and i can pretty obviously pinpoint where i went wrong and what i could do to avoid a repeat of such behaviour going forward. the good news is that despite all that i have found a balance since early december, have been doing much bettter in most aspects of life and have been consistently hitting my goals, likely at least in party to reviving this thread and writing said goals down and sharing the journey. so thanks to everybody and anybody who had any type of feedback to share after any of my posts, and here s to a much better 2020. i ll prob keep this thread up be the latest casualty of yearly threads and succumb to the peer pressure of endlessthreads a la gazzy and bena.

as i (once again) am feeling sick i ll have all day tomorrow to write up a year start post and some goals for the week. thanks for coming along on this journey and best of luck in all areas of life to all of you

Can you talk about where you went wrong? It sounds to me like you went through some health issues that make it pretty tough to focus and stay strong on the grind. Always rooting for you!

Re: *** blakkman08 2k19 goals and progress thread ***

Thanks lads

I basically was having absolutely terrible mental game both while winning and while losing. Going into the year I had a great routine of studying a lot and grinding a good schedule. After my fifth consecutive 20k month I started slacking in review volume which then also became a slight decrease in grind volume. I then obv started piling up losing sessions and went from being on pace for my yearly volume goal to way behind in a matter of two months. And instead of doing what I can control (study, stick to a routine, be healthy) I basically stuck my head in the sand and abandoned poker almost entirely for weeks on end. The health issues were of course part of what I couldnít control but i def took what would be a normal cold and over with in four to five days as a reason to not do anything productive for two weeks straight. Of course I could not do much about the run but I def coulda battled it more effectively than I have

Re: *** blakkman08 2k19 goals and progress thread ***

yoyo long time no see BUT i didnt disappear into the abyss of doing nothing forever, i ve actually been quite productive. that first week of being back from my denmark trip i set ymself a goal of playing 3 sessions but ended up playing only 2 bc of a hangover. so i sstarted this week with a goal of playing 4 to make up for lost grind time and found myself 3 sessions deep with onyl one available day left in the week for palying as sunday i m gonna be dead from a late bday party tonight, but also drunk from my classic 2 beers and one shot (inb4 lmao gtfo u lightweight - i know)

so set myself a slightly later alarm and was hoping to somehow manage a session today and despite lack of sleep and wakingup feeling dead i played a relatively long one. pretty happy with my effort this week (some might say lol grow up 4 sessions is nothing - and they would be right but i am me and its not easy for me so fk off )

anyway binked one of the bigger prizes i can win in that time slot in the mini pacific rim just now whih makes my kicking myself in the butt all the more good-feeling

off to enjoy 2 days of well earned time off with friends and will be back next week

goals :

[ ] play 4 sessions minimum startign monday leaving as much of a chance as possible of achieving 5 sessions by sunday

[ ] get back into a workout routine

peace

Lol grow up 4 sessions is nothing. Jkjk glad you are in the thick of it!

How did it feel taking 15.7% of the prize pool from those hard working Pacific Rim grinders? Seems pretty selfish to me

Re: *** blakkman08 2k19 goals and progress thread ***

hola. while i m sitting here waiting for party to confirm that the mtts i was in a gazillion hours ago are in fact cancelled i guess i got nothing better to do than post this

also on that note i guess i ll go on a rant
i feel like party is doing a few things right and a ton of big things very wrong. the way they communicate whenever they get hit by some attack or experience other types of server issues. the things they do right is a nice mtt schedule and a focus on what the community wants in terms of rewards and live events etc. but then they come along and commit not even close to borderline but way over the line theft in the way of throwing every and anybody into mtts that have guarantees that are set way too high for their actual liquidity. things like the marty million and things like that millions event bvoth live and online. i have heard countless stories of people being offered freerolls by higher ups at party poker itself, or prominent figures in the mtt world that are closely affiliated with party. its such bs that in todays marked and situation we as the poker community accept bs liek this because somehow despite all this pokerstars is just plain worse in every way. pretty fkn sad really.
