i wasnt asking anything ..

i was trying to say that from my POV your situation looks very serious and from my experience when i play 10h+ sessions (i am ~180cm/85-90kg and i have good chair + use fitness ball to sit on while playing and also switch to stand/sit positions) i am feeling pain in my hips and back + right shoulder (years of grinding and 0 other activity except from short walks have consequences) so i dont think is good idea after couple of days without pain to start grinding again

westworld is really good btw , watch altered carbon too if u havent watch it yet

Binged all of west world in I think three days. Fkn love that show although it’s a bit of a brainfk at times.

Got my stitches removed today and had my first physio sesh. I m in shambles right now, it’s crazy how hard my whole arm musculature has deteriorated, can’t even get a full stretch going without hurting but nice to have some homework exercises to do going forward.

Will give Poker another try next Sunday, this wasn’t possible at all

Aight so I ve been on ze couch since my last update pretty much, tried to play last Sunday, couldn’t, tried again Friday, couldn’t, tried just now, still can’t. Getting quite sad, Sunday #4 i m sitting out during what surely rates to be the softest time of the year. The buffer i made with the sick month in may is being spread pretty thin, guess i got super lucky that now is the World Cup, no idea what i d be doing without that, Netflix is empty, finished Legion and waiting eagerly for the finale of westworld, halfway through a book as well and been keeping up with poker through videos and regular reviews, yet still feeling pretty much like a potato these days won’t lie

Supsup, guess I ll just flick in a post bc why not innit

I managed to play my first ever session two days ago but not without struggles on the way there. Basically I realized right around the time of the last post that it would take ages for me to get up to playing ability so I needed up a being down and grinded YouTube vids like a maniac and through sheer power of boredom ended up on some Pokémon go channel which I binged to a point of actually wanting to play that idiot game again.
I hadn’t touched it since Barca 2016, but this was a sort of blessing really as I ve been able to increase my activity level from level 100 couch potato to level 31 Pokémon go tardreg which def is a good thing. Been going out like twice daily and actually this increase in activity coincided with massive improvements in the shoulder and overal musculature departments. Now is the first week where I spend the majority of my at home time not wearing the sling, I have upped my level of home exercise by 3x, I feel and see my shoulder and overall posture improving almost daily.

So that’s all good.

BUT

On Sunday I knew I could force myself to play but convinced myself to play Pokémon instead and watch the footy. That was a pretty massive lapse in self control/ motivation and didn’t do much in the way of getting my emotions to the same highs as my health. Granted jumping back into online poker grinding with a full on 80-100$ Abi Sunday grind may have been stupid anyway especially it being the first session since my biggest winning Sunday ever five weeks ago (wtf) but still

I told myself I d go to sleep early on Sunday (I did) and I d wake up at 7 with my gf and play an off peak Monday instead (rofl).
I filed hard bc I forgot how incapable I am at changing my sleep rhythm backwards by two hours in one sitting. Forward I have no problems adjusting it by up to 3.5 hours at a time but backwards is garbage. So I woke up at 2:45 am after four hours of sleep and played Pokémon all day Monday lol.

Finally on Tuesday I woke up at 8 and got grinding at 8:30. Won’t lie it felt great to play again but the cons still weighed heavily: my shoulder felt pretty meh, early hours there literally is nothing to play, I m used to playing a 80$ average buyin but 80 was right around the highest buyin available then in three mtts and the rest was 55s or lower. Fkn dreadful, I somehow made four final tables and they were all so small I didn’t even care about the ridiculousness of that fact alone, it being a three hour 24 mtt session. Chopped one, came somewhere around 4th in the others, decided to fk it and gtfo and never play early again and went hatching snorlaxes instead.

Shoulder this week has been making strides tho and I will play a huge Sunday session which I can’t wait for. Will miss the weekend after that but likely back to my standard grind in two weeks. Finally things are looking up again, been long enough tbh.

All good though, I got a 100% IV Pelipper

Wouldn't beat yourself up over the lapse in motivation and discipline. Discipline is a muscle and, through no fault of your own, yours has been atrophying for the last 5 weeks.

When you're ready ease back in gradually, write some simple goals, complete them, increase the difficulty and build back to your previous levels gradually. I think looking at it like getting back into fitness after a period away is the right way to go about things.

Yes you’re def right and that’s exactly what I will start doing again. I quit doing the weekly goals thing when I got injured and once I complete my season tomorrow I will start making goals based on what is actually possible grind wise and otherwise.

Went out for part1 of Pokémon community weekend and caught a bunch of articunos with a group of hardcore grinders of the game I randomly walked into and had a blast, now watching the games on the bank of the Danube with friends. Ended up having a pretty short Sunday poker wise. Stifled to motivate myself to play until 6pm but then did and played pretty well overall. Didn’t manage anything worth mentioning but I did enjoy playing for meaningful stakes and noting that I haven’t forgotten what I worked so hard at getting into my head this year. Sadly it’s still a while until playing full 10+ hour sessions is realistic as by midnight I was shattered and fairly happy to not have more tables (stopped reffing pretty early)

I m taking this week off bc football and Friday I m going to Poland for a friends wedding, will be back on a 3x per week grind rhythm I hope, but sessions will likely finish sooner than normal as I don’t wanna overdo it.

Sad for Belgium, Mbappe is such a piece of trash really undeserving guy to make the final despite his talent and skill.

I ve see every game of France and in every single one he has pulled moves like the one yesterday to try and get bs free kicks/ pens or get time off the clock , all attempts have been incredibly blatant too. It’s just bad etiquette imo and tbh sht like this should be a punishable offense. Obv nothing wrong with it technically if you don’t even get a yellow but yesterday’s nonsense should literally be a red in my opinion
