Hello everybody, sorry for the delay but this shan’t be postponed any longer.

For those of you who don’t know, hi there I am blakkman08, longtime pg&c reg and Professional MTT Player. I ve documented my entire progress in yearly threads since 2012 and am going into my millionth year and once again wanna set out with some goals which now come in with much more importance to me than in previous years. I will try to actually make regular review of the goals I set - ideally weekly but definitely monthly to reflect on the progress I ve made in that time frame and to update goals as it becomes necessary. These goals will be split into multiple categorias: poker, health and in part social although i ll probably just be giving myself a mark and review these privately. as i am flying back home tomorrow to see friends and family most of those goals wont come into effect until the 30th of january when i will be able to put in my first poker session after im back or the 29th regardign fitness.

goals until end of 1st week of february:

poker

- play 3 sessions - focus on high focus and low table count (aim for 16 max apart from the hour between 8pm and 9pm when i will allow myself a cap of 20 if neccessary)

- adjust my filters in order to help me game select

- pick up and set up my computer from the pc shop (i bought a new one but it had some issues which needed fixing, i m currently back on my old pc)

health


- go to gym 3 times, stick to the plan i designed back in december

- cook every lunch/ dinner i have while eating at home (maximum of 3 breakfasts outside, one dinner on saturday)

- one cheat instance for sweets

- no weed

- stick to sleep schedule on off days (on work days i have little control of when i go to sleep but make an effprt to fix any rythm issues immediately)

- force myself out of bed the moment i wake up (after at least 6 hs of sleep- i ve spent probably 40% of this year lying down wasting time away, thats pretty ridiculous and in this amount has only happened to me once, back in 2015)


as i ve done previously i wont be doing freerolls as i believe for me personally they dont work on a subconscious level. i ve never managed to force myself through monetary pressure to achieve anythign without totally believing it on a subconscious level, be it quitting to smoke or cooking or fitness, it always became a habit when i start seeing the benefits after the first couple times despite always struggling to get myself to start. thats oone main motivation for making this thread. not updating has caused me to go competely off the track with pretty much everything that was a healthy habit, i ve been extremely unproductive since pretty much christmas, i ve gone to the gym a total of 2 times, i ve played only two full sessions in january which was supposed to be a busy grinding motnh with solid volume etc. i ve felt and behaved completely terribly tbh. so yea i ve not been in the best of places and i m hoping to write my goals down here where i can reread them and maybe get some motivation from knowing some of you are following along and hoping i dont completely fail (or maybe even hoping that i do ) will help me with getting back to where i want to be.

i will use berlin as a time to reset, reconect with ome people and get emotionally set to push myself hard into living my life the best way i can.

sorry if this has been a rant, needed to get this out of my system.

the next few posts will just be rambling until i have a chance to get to working on my goals. i think i ll stick to doing recaps of past weeks on mondays, those are traditionally off days where i have time to sort out this thread and finances and go to the gym etc.

PS: Succesfull players going through a "weird" phase is sth i have encountered with 2 of my buddies last month, who both are crushers and had amazing 2017 (just like u). I think it would be interesting to talk about/share ur experiences and ur thoughts (i mean if they are of "general nature" not personal stuff obv), but i can understand if u just dont feel like doing that in here. In any case, be strong and glgl in 2018.

Definitely in for this. Really hoping it's a big year for you on all fronts. January is a notoriously tough month for motivation, probably because we all make such a big deal out of the new year thing, hitting yearly goals and such. It's a big energy drop off after that, for me at least.
