Small buy-in MTTs. I made a 1st place on a 45man two days ago. But I put in way less volume than you are.

I got a few questions:
How many tables did you play at once, at max?
Do you have any good resources about MTT strategy?

Good luck, keep it crushing!
First of all, Thanks for the support bud! Really appreciate it.

I play 12-16 tables at a time, I still struggle with 16 but can comfortably 12-14 table now. I usually put in like 1-2 sessions a day of 6-8hrs.

I've read Kill Everyone and Raiser's Edge. Both of which are pretty solid books for MTT's. I'm currently reading Moorman's book which is pretty sick aswell. Other than books, try DC or Cardrunners for low stakes. If your looking for free content Gripsed is the way to go. Search him up on youtube, helped my game a ton back in the day. Great Videos.

Week 1, Day 4 (Completed)

What are challenges without downswings ? Yeah, today I recorded my first downswing of this challenge. I put in 2 sessions of 6 hours each.. Started off with regging everything upto 4.4$ MTT's. But I'd be lying If I said I ran decent, today was one of those days where even if you do everything right, you still can't seem to win.

I just had 2 FT's in 45 and 90 Man SnG's. A Deepish run in the Hot 1.1$ but that's about it. I've decided to get my focus on to the 3.5$ 45-Man Turbo SnG's. I think I'm pretty good at them and have a decent Bankroll cushion to grind them while playing MTT's.

The 45-Man FT I Destroyed -

So My Focus will be these 45-Man Turbo's till I have a sufficient BR to Move up to the 5$ Prog. KO 90-Man Turbo's. I also won the Big 8.8$ Satty today, Couldn't Unreg and didn't manage to cash.

I'm very happy with the way I played throughout the day, Kept my cool and didn't let the varience get to me. Playing your A Game without letting other factors effect you will always take you ahead and I'll be sticking to that.

I think I'll be dropping my ABI to 3$ for MTT's now and 3.5$ for SnG's.

I also went for David Guetta yesterday and It was one of the craziest concerts I've ever attended. Guetta played one of his best Sets, Just Nailed it.

Shot Me Down-

Day 4 -
Starting Bankroll : 381.17$
Ending Bankroll : 306.12$

The Plan now is to grind hard, lower my ABI, focus on 45-Man Turbo's and get back on the upswing Train. Pretty happy with overall results as we've managed to triple our BR in the first 4 Days. Got to look at the positive aspects and stay focused! Let's do this.

Will also be hitting the Gym before my Day 5 Session. So it should be a good addition in making me even more focused.

Sunday Grind - I will make an exception and take a shot at the Sunday Storm (Which is out of my BR) if I'm unable to satty in. I'll play all the event's which I satty into. #Leggo

Week 1, Day 5 (Completed)

So Today was the big day, I started off by deciding to take a shot using 10% of my BR and playing the Sunday Storm, Sunday Storm II and Bigger 11. Unfortunately I couldn't go deep in them, Cashed the sunday storm for 26$, but got busted in the Sunday Storm II and the Bigger 11.

After that I regged everything upto the 3.3$ Mark with a couple of 4.5s, had a lot of ITM Finishes but just couldn't get the job done. I played some 45s aswell, FT'ed 2 of them together with like top 3 in chips, Busted the bubble in one and 6th in the second. It's insane how swingy these can be sometimes but I'm pretty sure I'm profitable in them.

FT of the 3.5$ 45s -

I did manage to win a satty to the Hotter 7.5$, couldn't unreg and couldn't cash so nothing too exciting there.

Day 5 -
Starting Bankroll : 306.12$
Ending Bankroll : 257.22$

So, I did hit the gym before my session and felt way more focused to grind. Will keep it in my schedule and atleast go 6 days a week.

I think I'm playing well and a -50$ result on a sunday is not too bad. You just have to deal with Varience when building with MTT's, have to be consistent, put in the volume and the results will come. Will end on that note! Pumped to jump into Day 6. Let's do this.

Week 1, Day 6 (Completed)

We started off day 6 with a nice MTT Session, couldn't get anything going for the most part playing upto the 3.3s and saw my BR go down to around 200$. Then put in a good 45-Man Turbo SnG Session and ended up at 4 Final Tables at the same time. Finished 1st, 3rd, 3rd and 4th for a nice +90$ for the session. After that I transferred some funds to play on FTP under QuadKillerr (Which is my FTP A/c) Played a few MTT's there and put in a small session on stars. Couldn't get much going again, had a few big stacks but cards just didn't run my way on mtt's on day 6. So we ended day 6 where we left off.

4 x 45 Man FT's at the same time >.<

Week 1, Day 7 (Completed)
Sorry for the late post guys! Christmas had me all messed up ~~ Too much stuff to do >.<

Day 7 had a lot of deep MTT Runs, a LOT! Managed to get massive stacks, in a lot of MTT’s but just couldn’t get the job done when down to top 2-3 tables. Lost a lot of CL Stack Flips AK < QQ were like 3 of them. Played 45-Man Turbo’s along the way to keep the variance down but just broke even on them for the day. The MTT Varience got my BR down to around 135-140$ with the 45-Man Varience adding in. I reached my 3k vpp stellar award so that was a nice addition to the BR. I decided to do what I usually do when I hit a downswing. i.e. Study. I watched 5-6 hours worth of video content and decided to switch to STT’s to help build my confidence back. Started off with the Regular Speed 9-Man 3.5$ SnG’s and moved upto the 7$ ones after the first session. The Non Turbo ones still seem pretty beatable and got my BR upto around 200$ again. Another reason was I didn’t feel 130$ was enough to grind the 3.5$ 45s because of the variance in them. I’m pretty confused If I should just grind these out to get a comfortable bankroll and then aim for the low range MTT’s or keep grinding only the MTT’s. Because if I choose the latter I’d have to move down in limits as soon as i experience a downswing but, Grinding these I can get a comfortable bankroll faster to grind the lower limit MTT’s. We have around 6 days left in the year and I’m aiming to get the 5k vpp stellar bonus. A Lot of grinding in the upcoming days so stay tuned!

The MTT Session looked so good at a point ^_^

Challenge Graph so Far -

Day 6 -
Starting Bankroll : 256.47$
Ending Bankroll : 201.89$ + 10$ (Stellar Bonus)

So the last upswing is from the Non Turbo STT’s I was grinding and I think It would be better if I continue to grind those till I have a sufficient bankroll and don’t have to move down stakes everytime variance strikes! Let’s see how this goes in the upcoming days!

If I were you with your BR my schedule would consist of the following

$1 180 man, $1.50 90 man, $1 45 man, 1.10 250 cap, 2.20 100cap and 3.30 60 cap.

I would say they are comfortably the highest ROI tournaments at they stakes with the least variance.

Not sure your BR can handle 3.50 45 mans yet, or if you are intent on playing them mix them with the $1.50 45 man turbos to reduce avg BI.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Best of luck regardless

I late reg. these at the 60th minute and buyin for a total of 4.2$ (2k starting stack + 5k addon). After latereg and addon period we start with a 7k stack at 40/80 which I feel is decent enough. This might not be the best rebuy strategy but for sure is the lowest ABI one.
It's 500 Capped so lower varience as compared to big field MTT's. I generally don't play these but there weren't many MTT's running at that time probably why I chose it.

I have beaten the STT's before (Turbo Format) and have had some experience with Fifty-50's aswell. But Over the years I think I've learned how to adapt to different formats. I have read Collin Moshman's book but I wouldn't recommend it now since it's old. You have a lot of Turbo 9-Man SNG Strategy online on forums and training sites. You'll have to look harder for Regular speed content. For the most part, A Solid game while applying pressure on the bubble feels the best way to play/beat these. Thanks for the support buddy! Appreciate it :')

I was exactly playing these when I started off with this challenge, I just feel that my ROI in STT's is higher than these games and I can put in much more volume so playing them would speed up the process of me getting to a BR good enough to grind the Lower levels upto 5s.
And Thanks for the support and suggestions mate! Really appreciate it :')

Week 2, Day 1 (Completed)

We started today with grinding the STT's and I mixed up the 3.5s and 7s. I don't think sharkscope is correctly recording my KO's since there definately is a difference b/w my bankroll and sharkscope. Over the hours I grinded, I had a +49$ Session in the STT's and lost around 28-29$ in MTT's. So Overall It was a positive day. I just don't feel like I should completely stop playing MTT's permanently since one bink is all that is needed. So I will keep mixing up my play and put in a couple of mtt's on the start of my session to run by the side. Overall I played pretty solid and I will include my STT graph in tomorrow's post to make things even more interesting.

Sunday Million 5M$ GTD -
I will not include this in the challenge but I will be definately playing it. If I do, any losses or wins occured will not count towards this. I'll probably get backed but this isn't a tournament that comes around that often or a tournament that you would want to miss.

Today's volume was pretty low as it's holidays out here and I had to do a lot of ****. Was out most of the day and could just put in like a 4-5 hr session. Volume will increase drastically in the coming days as I go for that stellar bonus and grind 10h+ a day. Let's do this.

Week 1 & 2 Results (Check Goal List)-

First of all, Sorry for the late update guys.. I was too caught up and wasn't able to update this thread. I'll summarise the past week in this post and be more consistent with them.

The past week has been an up and down journey. We started with 226$ at the end of week 1 and in the first couple of days I experienced a decent downswing but consistently grinded the 9-Max SnG's to cover the MTT Losses. I took shots at the 7$ level and moved down to 3.5$s when my BR got below 140$. Working like a charm so far whenever I experience a downish-swing in MTT's, grinding these just gets my Confidence back and pads the BR Nicely. I put in decent volume in those and I'm seeing some results having 15%+ ROI atm. Mostly Regular speed with some Mixed Fifty-50s and Turbos.

9-Max SnG Graph so far -

Failing at Gold Star and 50$ Steller -
I tried to go for it but 2k vpps in 4-5 days was just too much volume for me and when I bumped up my tables and added in some Fifty-50's to keep em going, I realised that I could make much more having a significant ROI in the same time playing Less Tables which is exactly what happened hence the upswing in the last 50ish SnG's.

MTT's - Them Swings and Them Binks -
I started the week slow being on the negetive side of varience and taking some hits to my BR but eventually in the last 2 days with some persistence, volume and focus I managed to get some small Binks.

Big 2.2 (11th out of 3626 Runners) -
The first one could have been a huge potential bink but after 8 hours of play I ended up loosing a CL Stack AK vs TT vs 22 Flip and after a couple of hands ran my AK into AA for a 11th place finish. I was pretty confident about shipping it for the 1.1k$+ 1st prize but sometimes you can do everything right and still loose. That's poker for you folks and a part of the game so have to accept it. There's nothing you can do to change that. I still think an 11th place finish out of a 3626 player field is pretty decent. I cashed for 43$+ which is an ok return on investment (Almost 20BI) but I think I deserved more.

PokerGods just didn't listen to me that day -

http://www.boomplayer.com/.../Boom/12347324_B8F5E16068

http://www.boomplayer.com/.../Boom/12347354_D061D112F3

2.2€ 500€ GTD (4th out of 497 Runners) (FT 1)-
This has been one of my favourite MTT's since a pretty long time. It has a small field with a small 1st place finish but is pretty soft so I love it. I played my A Game just couldn't get the job done once 4 handed. Made a bad read but you always learn from your mistakes so It was a learning experience. I finished 4th for 78€+. Just over 92$+

2.75$ 1.5K$ GTD (3rd out of 994 Runners) (FT 2)-
15 Minute Blind Levels and a pretty good structure for a 2$ freezeout. A lot of room for play and I ended up final tabling it the same day as the 2.2€ one. Played a pretty solid game, stuck to my gut and was pretty impressed by the score. I think I could've shipped it but my opponents did play a pretty strong game. After 8hr+ battle I ended up finishing 3rd for 236$.

So, Overall I feel I'm doing pretty good so far and I'm confident going into week 3 and this New Year with a fresh mindset. I worked and improved my MTT, aswell as STT Game which I'm pretty happy about.

Week 2 Graph and Stats -

Week 2 Cashes -

Week 1 & 2 Results -

Overall Week 2 -
Starting Bankroll : 211.89$
Ending Bankroll : 458.47$

I'm pretty happy with the results and volume in the past 2 weeks. I found a few leaks in my game which I fixed and will continue to work on that by discussing HHs with my poker buddies, studying and watching videos. It's been a pretty crazy journey so far and as gripsed would say I feel 2015 is my year.

Overview and a look back at the goals I set for myself 2 weeks ago -

Quote:
Goals for next 2 weeks (15 days) -

♣ Put in Decent Volume (500-750 MTT's/MTTSNG's)
♥ Watch anywhere from 14-28 Video's on MTT Strat.
♦ Do HH Review's with a buddy.
♣ Update this thread daily with Graphs
♠ Work towards my fitness Goals
♥ Read 2 books in a Month (Re-read them alternate weeks)
Achieved the Volume Goal - 683 Games in 2 weeks. Pretty happy with that goal.
I'll say I watched anywhere from 10-15 Videos with some of them being 2hr+ so I'll tick this goal aswell. Can definately put more time in these.
Did that, helped me plug some of my leaks! Will continue to do these HH Reviews
I don't think I achieved this one. I did post daily for the first 9 days but couldn't manage time and felt a bit lazy to post. Will try to aim for one post in 2 days atleast from now on.
I'm working towards my fitness goals, Getting in Gym Sessions atleast 3-4 times a week. I'll like to pump that up to 5-6 for the most part.
I didn't manage to complete this goal, I'm still reading Moshman's book and will probably complete it in the coming week.

(4/6) Goals Achieved, Not bad for a start I'd say. I'm pretty content with myself. I'll share my new year goals with all of you in the upcoming post as we need some space in these for threadsavers aswell xD

MiniFTOPS - I'll be selling a lot of my MiniFTOPS Action. I'll be probably selling 60% of it and all the results will be a part of this challenge. Otherwise my Br won't allow me to play many of these and I feel they are great value. I'll probably sell it in my Indian community but if anyone of you guys are interested in getting a piece, leave a comment and I'll surely start listing some on 2+2 soon!

Pocarr Lite - I have applied for Pocarr Lite and I'm waiting for a response. I've always wanted to be backed by a stable as the swings in MTT's can be pretty crazy at times. I never applied for one and I'm looking to get into Pocarr. If I do make it, I will probably have to close this challenge but I'll continue to post about my progress and results as a horse representing Pocarr If that be the case.

Thanks a lot for sticking by till now if you did! The support you guys give me is immense and I appreciate each and everyone of you for it.

Happy New Year Guys! Believe in yourself and Believe that 2015 is our YEAR!
GL at the tables! Cheers
