Spade BigggTymeR's 100$ to 5,000$ Challenge (Starting 2015 with a BANG)

Hey Guys so this thread is about me being focused and sharing my journey with all of you till the top. Here is a bit of background on my life over the last couple of years, on and off the felt -

- I’m 18 years old and freshman in college. I’ve been playing poker since I was 11. It’s been a pretty wild, up and down journey since then.

- I love studying the game and improving so I will surely have some study goals out there. I have basically read around 12+ books all related to MTT poker and I'm pretty sure that's my game.

- I started when I was 11, didn’t know **** that I was doing.. By the time I reached the age of 14 I started figuring out some stuff, getting better. I made a huge break when I was 16 (that's some underage stuff so I'll leave it out, was on a cousins account) I ended up winning some pretty decent moolah at that point.

- So by the end of 2012 I was really inspired to improve and saw myself having a future in this. I had to take a break from poker because of my studies but since now I’m done with most of it. It’s time to grind !

Forward it to now, I started off with a decent BR.. Took a massive hit from MTT Varience so It's time I grind it back up again. I've done a similar thing in the past so I'm pretty confident I'll be able to achieve this.

The Plan is to start off with $100 and play MTT's and MTTSNG's. Will use a 100BI Avg. Bankroll Management with the occasional shots when I'm feeling good. Grind it up to 5k$ so have me decently rolled to play Low-Medium Staked MTT's

I've reset my sharkscope and I'm looking forward to starting the new year with a BANG. Let's Do This.

I've basically made this thread to keep me focused and to keep me motivated. I end up taking a lot of shots when I don't keep it planned letting varience take control of my BR. Time to avoid that and grind it up!

Study - While grinding I'll be reading the Moorman's Book of Poker. I ordered it a week ago and just recieved it so will update as to how I find it! I'm also getting a membership at either tpe or dc. Will watch atleast one video before session to warm up and get my head into the game. Then apply thing's I learnt.

Volume - I'll be sticking to 45s and 180s for now adding in a couple of MTT's and switch to Micro MTT's once my Bankroll is grown enough. Will be playing anywhere from 10-12 tables (looking to increase that once I'm comfortable) I remember I used to 20 table easily, struggling a bit on that atm so will work towards it.

Goals for next 2 weeks (15 days) -

♣ Put in Decent Volume (500-750 MTT's/MTTSNG's)
♥ Watch anywhere from 14-28 Video's on MTT Strat.
♦ Do HH Review's with a buddy.
♣ Update this thread daily with Graphs
♠ Work towards my fitness Goals
♥ Read 2 books in a Month (Re-read them alternate weeks)

I'm only keeping volume & study goals which I have a control on and no bankroll goals. There is no deadline for this challenge but would love achieve it as soon as I possibly can.

I guess that about sums is up, what I am aiming for in the next couple of months is consistency and volume. Having some support from you guys would just make it a bit more easier. I will be updating this thread daily with the progress I’m making so stay tuned for that.

You can follow my progress by searching on Sharkscope. My SN is BigggTymeR on Pokerstars.

Cheers and GL at the tables ! :’)

Some threadsavers for all of you -

Week 1, Day 1 (Completed)

Was super pumped to start off but had some internet issues yesterday. Got it sorted and was back to the grind today. Started with registering for most of the MTT's & SnG's running under the 1$ BI.

So I put in 2 Sessions of 6 hours each (8-10 Tabling). I'm sticking to the Non-Turbo format for the most part so Volume would be a bit low at the beginning. Putting in a few turbo's here and there.

Focusing on the 1$ 45/180 Mans till my bankroll allows me to move up. Had pretty decent results so far with a 1st and 2nd place finish in 45-Mans and a 1st place finish in 180 Mans with a lot of mincashes. I'd say I played about 25-30ish of these (They Last around 4-5h)
Also grinding the Turbo Satties to Big's/Hot's. Won a 33c, 44c and 82c satty to Hot 3,4 and 7.5. I unregged those I could. Had to play the Hot 4.4 but couldn't cash.

Had a very deep run in the Hot 0.55 aswell.. Finished 64th place out of 5.5k+ runners for 4.3$ (KK<AJ). Had 500+ UT so would've been a nice ship.

FT of the 1$ 180-Man, Started off 2nd in Chips

4-Handed play, Preflop Allin AQ vs A9

ComeBack to Ship it

I couldn't find the time to hit the gym today. Need to take out time between sessions or before sessions! Will work towards it in the coming days.

Day 1 Graph & Stats -

Cashes -

Starting Bankroll : 100$
Ending Bankroll : 164.26$

I'm pretty happy with the way I played today. Had decent results and a lot of close calls. Looking forward to reading more of Moorman's Book now!
Let's Do This.

Week 1, Day 2 (Completed)

Started the day off by registering for everything under the 1.5$ Mark in Tournaments. Played a single 7 hour session today.Played some satty's aswell. Won 2 x Big 4.40$ Tickets in 44c and 88c satty's. Couldn't unreg. from it and ended up finishing 106th/4317 Players in the Big 4.4 for 22.44$.

Other than that I had a super deep run in the 2.2$ 6-Max Turbo 3K GTD. I ended up final tabling the madafaka with like 1.9k+ Entrants. 700$ UT but got coolered twice at the FT (AQ v QQ) BVB and (AQ v AK) 12BB. So had to settle for 6th place (97.05$) Still a decent boost to the Bankroll.

The 2.2$ Turbo FT - (Started off 3rd in Chips)

Would've been a super start to this challenge if I binked that but nevermind I'm super happy with the way I played. The way I busted is just something which Is not in my control so I'm pretty happy about that.

Other than that I had a pretty small 2.2$ (Capped) FT

Finished 6th for around 7$ in that one.

After yesterday's win I did increase by ABI to 1.5$ so I added in some of the 2$ ones. The good thing is after today's run I have a bigger breathing room and can probably play the 2$ ones regularly adding the occasional 3$ MTT.

Day 2 Graph & Stats -

Day 2 Cashes -

Challenge Graph Till Date -

Day 2 -
Starting Bankroll : 164.26$
Ending Bankroll : 267.63$

I also think I need to work a bit more on my volume. I was comfortably 12-Tabling today It's just a matter of how many hours I played which was 7 as compared to 12 of the first day. Will work on it in the upcoming days.

I'd also like to give a shoutout to Kamitis. He Pm'ed me offering to help with my game and we ended up discussing a HH which helped in plugging some of my leaks. He is a really great guy who knows what he's doing! Thanks again man! Appreciate it.

The Bankroll boost should provide a decent cushion now to any potential downswings. Will be increasing by ABI by a bit in Day 3's Session. Pretty happy with the results so far. Let's bink something big!

Spade Re: BigggTymeR's 100$ to 5,000$ Challenge (Starting 2015 with a BANG)

Week 1, Day 3 (Completed)

We started off Day 3 by registering into pretty much everything that was running between (0.55$ - 2.2$) with the occasional 2.75$ and 3.3$ MTT's. I regged for all the Non-Turbo MTTSNG's and took a shot at a 4.5$ 180-Man aswell.

About 2 hours into my session, I was having deep runs everywhere. From the Hot 0.55 to the 2.2e 500e GTD. I was crushing everywhere. I remember at a point having standing's something like this.

Chipleader in the Hot 0.55 -

Overall Stats in all tournaments at that point -

2 Final Tables, (1 FT Bubble) and Massive Stack in Big 0.55 -

It did go a bit downhill from there as I finished 61st in the Big 0.55 with 2 coolers. Busted the 2.2e 500e GTD in 18th place and was left with my 2 FT's.
Still played my A Game and ended up shipping the 2.5$ 90-Man with a 3rd place finish in the 4.5$ 180-Man for a crazy good ROI Day.

Down to the Final 2-

There were unfortunately no ticket's shipped today. Played pretty good in the satty's I entered. But I'm still up a lot on those so It's all good.

Day 3 Graph & Stats -

Day 3 Cashes -

Challenge Graph Till Date -

Day 2 -
Starting Bankroll : 267.63$
Ending Bankroll : 381.17$

I've been low on volume the past 2 days as I've been only putting in one 7-8hr session. This will surely increase in the coming days and I'll work on getting 2 good sessions in. Today I unregged from a lot of other stuff to focus on these 4 tables where I had a deep run and hence the lowest volume. We are at 101 Games in 3 Days so Just about at the lower limit of our Volume Goal.

The Bankroll is up to 381.17$ which helps a lot as I can now focus and comfortably play upto the 3.3$ Level unless I brick a lot and fall back below the 300$ Mark. I'll be loading up a couple of 4.5's aswell (180's) as they're pretty good and the occasional 4$ MTT for the most part. So another day looking forward to an increased ABI is always a positive sign.

I will be attending the David Guetta Concert today so probably won't be able to get enough games in. Will still try though If I'm sober enough. Anyways, It's time to party now #letsgo****incrazy

Once again great results! You're playing exactly how I'd like to play
Small buy-in MTTs. I made a 1st place on a 45man two days ago. But I put in way less volume than you are.

I got a few questions:
How many tables did you play at once, at max?
Do you have any good resources about MTT strategy?

Good luck, keep it crushing!
