Thanks for updating with such raw honesty, been following this thread for a while. Hope things pick up for you! I find proper goal planning and reverse engineering processes to get to my goals has always given me drive and purpose which ultimately lead to a happier grind.

Very glad blog is back!

Insane about the cheating - what nationality were they/did they appear to be?

Excellent post. I suppose you’re going to create goals in order to drive intent? Monetary/material goals that you can work towards and monitor. Saving towards a house etc

This is not a troll:

I am offering my service to you, in the vein of a Jared Tendler type figure/service for the price of $20/hour.

I have no qualifications.

I think I am better than Jared (and a hell of a lot cheaper.)

I mean this is the nicest way possible: can you afford not to consider this?

EDIT: sorry my price is actually $25/hour

I'm going to offer a bit of advice as my 1st lesson (free of charge.)

I'd recommend listening to a podcast:

https://itunes.apple.com/gh/podcast/...230056608?mt=2

with the guest being David Galbraith. He (to the best of my knowledge) is a sports psychologist and there are some v good points on an issue you touched upon in 1 of your last posts: finding meaning in what you are doing.

There is no rush to listen to it but I REALLY recommend starting down this rabbit-hole asap as IMO you can find it productive/beneficial with your poker/life.

To elaborate on what I can offer: I listen to sports psychology podcasts/interviews and try to develop the ideas a bit further. (I don't want you to think I think I'm far past where these ideas are. I think I have developed them a BIT further, like 1 step.)

You have been really open and clear what your issues may be. I may be blunt and lacking in empathy on a 1 to 1 basis (which I'd like to talk to you on ) but from what you say you are/have been struggling with I think I may have some ideas that can help you.

And if they don't, they def aren't going to set you back

I hope you're a troll and don't actually offer your 'services' to anyone who is actually in need, cus what you're suggesting could actually do some serious, serious damage.

OK, I take the offer back.

A professional qualification is the prerequisite to be of assistance to a guy.

You are then guaranteed to be getting value for money (at $250 a pop) and they will guarantee that you will have a happy life.

The same applies to poker coaches/training site instructors/other charlatans, eh Benabadbeat?
01-29-2019 , 11:13 AM
No. When you are offering help to someone who is suicidal, you just need to tread carefully, regardless if you are qualified or not.

idgaf about coaching, site instructors or charlatans, this is a completely different context.

fwiw, i'm talking generally here, not necessarily just for bigA - he can obviously take care of himself
01-29-2019 , 11:29 AM
And I am half-joking in the sense that I doubt any sane person would take up an offer from some random person on the internet who's offering to provide 'help'.

The other half to that is, I seriously think I can offer some sports psychology ideas/models that could help BigA especially.

This is only because I've followed his blog/posts over a period, and do have empathy about his situation as a person. Unfortunately, I haven't had the training of a professional psychologist to have a polite manner to the person as well as the theoretical knowledge background.

Hence my price

Due to the nature of the topic I will seriously take back the offer. Please forget it. HOWEVER, (after knowing BigA from his posts and the funk he has been in) I really think I could offer some constructive advice for his life.

Dude if you are offering to help someone through a tough time with absolutely no training or qualifications you should be offering it for free. Isn't that what friends do for each other all of the time? Not suggesting you are friends with BigA but just trying to make the point.

It also insults people like Ben who have spent countless hours in studying and training in this field for people to start charging a fee that have no experience or idea what they are even doing.

If it's something you are truly interested in then I'd offer advice and guidance but don't charge for it man. Find the humanitarian in yourself and just offer a hand, ear or shoulder to someone in need!
