By playing perfect according to GTO you dont need to calculate nothing while you play, you can just know the perfect ranges by memory for each opening % or just have them written down. The beauty of knowing this is not playing according to it yourself everytime, but by knowing what perfect play is then you know how your oponnent deviate from it and what is the best stape to take agaisnt the deviation he is taking. And when you find someone (rarely as you say) who does play perfect, he cant exploit you.

Anyways, this is just stuff wich would improve anyones game but is not even close to the most important stuff you need to play poker, and it would just be something to improve anyones winrate (wich you dont desperately need from what I can tell)

I didnt know this stuff too well a few months ago, and now I do, my game hasnt changed much due to it, but now I have become stronger in certain spots where I wasnt so much.

About the bet sizing thing in 4 bet pots, it wont change too much from an avg of 17-20 blinds to an avg of 25-30. but yes its a difference anyways. This would mean you have to defend around 72% of the time in avg instead.

Anyways, I see why you do good and I love creative play and creative minds. best of luck for you

just a final Q: how many tables you play at once.

If you want to talk in the future just add me on skype: chillskill87
OBV I am not trying to convince u or argue with you, and because of your comments I made a through-out research of my database for 4bet pots and did find some leaks. For that I thank you very much..

I have to say that I did play "by ear" up until several months ago before getting a bit into the "dirty" math, and did find some leaks in my game (esp sizing related..).

I play between 10-12 boards, but am trying to lower this number down. Currently it's not possible, and I have to play almost all the tables that are open at 400NL+600NL, hopefully when I move to 1kNL I will play less (I think 8 boards are optimal for me).

I have a question for you Did you study the GTO from reading or from a coach? If from reading, I would really appreciate it if you post a link here at the thread...

And a general question. Let's say typical ranges of a good reg at 6max will be something like:

RFI: UTG = 16% ; HJ = 20% ; CO = 32% ; BU = 48% ; SB = 30% . General 4bet after RFI = 14% .

What would be your optimal 3bet ranges with/without position vs every position, according to GTO?

Its a bit old, so sizings he uses are kinda off. But I have calculated everything with current metagame sizings (and it does change that much anyways).
Anyways the thing is that it teaches allows you to perform calculations by yourself according to each range and sizing you'd like

villain calls about 70% pre, thought I can get value from FD, and get some dead-money from kicking away Q good kicker / A weak kicker, it turned out nicely. The main thing in this move is my sizing on turn, that allows him to call with any weak hand, and kinda forces him to shove good hands to protect and get maximum value from me.

As always, replies and thoughts about the hands are very welcomed.
It is std for you to try to fold out A9/A8/A7/A6 OTR ? You are not in the camp of " they never fold TP" " Don't even try it " "World is going to end if they call" ?

Villain at SB 3bets 15% of his hands vs. BU, and doesn't let go easily to 4bet (55% fold, 27% call, 18% raise). I was very calm at the table at that stage, and expected to get credit. Usually I will fold here to a normal 5bet, but his sizing was very small and I get nice odds to call in position with a decent flopping hand, plus me calling should tell him that I'm not on a bluff-type-hand, and put some warning signs in his head.
Flop: Although it's a "scary" flop at first (AK, KQ, TT hits, AA is not going to fold etc.), after further thinking it seems like a good flop for my perceived range (plus I have here some decent equity vs. good hand, about 25%). His check firms my thoughts (obv he can have TT, KK, AK and check the flop, but it's not a big chunk of his range, not to mention c-c vs my sizing with KJ/AT/JJ/QQ etc.), and I choose a very small sizing (like I would do with AK, TT, KK) with the intention to fold to a shove. I believe that this bet, with this sizing, is ALREADY an EV+ move.
Turn: Ideal turn (I'm not sure what I would do to a blank turn, prob tank forever and try to chose between shoving and c-folding unless I improve), that makes my decision quite esay to a shove (nice fold equity + about 25% equity vs call), villain tanks and folds.
What do you think villain's 5betting range is ? If there are alot of bluffs, vs what kind of opponent is 5bet bluffing good ? Seems like not vs you cause you flat them light.

Actually I don't think he is EVER folding here any A, but I did not put him on an ace... It's a weird thought of mine, but I think is true, that fish don't call 3bet with A weak kicker, but do call it all day long with stuff like QTo and random suited connectors (high or low). I tried to kick out Q some kicker and random pairs/suited etc.

Not sure it's the best move though, when watching the hand now, prob was a dynamic involved that I can't recall now.

Villain's 5bet range and call to 4bet range combined are quite wide, prob around 10% of hands. Not sure though what he had this time, his check on the flop seemed or super-nuts or total air, I decided to bet low to check where he stands, and turn came a no-out-card for me IMO, was prob check-folding if not this turn.

Generally speaking I'm not a big fan of 5bet-bluffs, but will do them vs loose-openres+4bettors from LP, whom folds easily to 5bet (not shove, like a bit below twice the 4bet size).

This is intresting because 5bet bluffing is not part of my game at all. I 4bet bluff alot in LP and the few times I have faced a small 5bet I've always thought them to be the nuts " he is commited to call all in so reg is never 5bet-bluffing-folding ". This works very well againts me . Have to try it out sometimes when the conditions are right. Flatting 5bets aswell.

Why you think that small 5bet bluff is better than shoving if you think villain might be 4bet bluffing ? Just because you make a smaller mistake when you are wrong and villain makes a bigger mistake when he continues and is wrong ?

The reason you mentioned is a good reason The second reason (IMO) for 5bet small and not jamming is forcing the opponent to make an even bigger mistake (after they see you 5bet-fold once or twice) when I 5bet-smallish with AA/KK and get insta-reshoved from 44

Generally speaking you should try to play the same your AA 5bet, and your A9s 5bet.

Thursday night was a "white night" at Tel-Aviv, lot's of partying around, drinking and smoking.. Came back home at 05:00 AM, kinda tilted because of my girlfriend, and decided to take a shower and run a session...

Graph:

Happy to announce a new "best day" , after 5-hour-marathonian-session, with one specific table (400NL deep) responsible for 2/3 of the profit. There was one specific fish that the game ran around him, chinese 55-35, very aggressive, 30% 3bet etc.

I decided to upload most of the big hands versus him only, according to the order they were played, to try and give you guys the feeling of the dynamics, because if you see these hands in vacuum they just look ridiculous.

Hey Stasia, congrats on the new best day. But don't engage the railers so much by talking about the fish after he's busted and left. Particularly not this guy, since he disappears then comes back 5-10 mins later.

either way, nice thread. keep it up.

Took your comment into considerations, was kinda tired and a bit drunk from the night, was excited that I'm going to sleep and from the score, so chatted a bit

Seems to me that you either played either watched the sess, would u mind sending my a PM with a screen-name?

Also, If I remember correctly I talked mainly about what I had, and how I played, didn't say anything about the fish...? correct me if I'm wrong.
