What up 2+2
Mainly I'am a poker enthusiast and second I'm currently a student in Earth Science. My life is very nice but I'm excited because I recently defined some poker/life goals for myself and I want to wrap up my progress each day with this thread.

Goals:
- step up my Poker game playing low stakes MTT's, HU Hypers and Zoom CG
- study my poker session with PokerTracker4
- meditate each day and have a nice mindset overall
- doing fitness every 2nd day
- always keep a nice schedule and get my work for university done

Bankroll currently:
- 126$

Motos:
- "Play your best game all the time"
- "You earn what you seed"

Let's go

First day:
I played 25 HU hypers --> 60 % ITM and 15% ROI + 5.70$
I played 3023 hands NL2 --> rollercoaster ending up -2.24$

Feeling pretty good about my HU game.
Got tons of hands to study from the NL2 session though.
Marking noob players is one of the things I should keep doing more.

Bankroll currently: 130$

Plans for tomorrow:
Getting up early and doing fitness and meditate.
Study 1.5 Hours of poker hands.
Play 1000 hands NL2
Play 25 HU hypers

Bankroll: 133.27$

Plans for tomorrow:
Study todays session in the morning
meditate
plan to focus more on my nutrition and want to make a nutrition plan for the upcoming week

Day 3:
reached most of my goals today, only lacked to study poker enough, really have to get this done!
Otherwise very happy, did some research on how i should eat and have a perfect menue plan for the whole next week! Looking forward of how that could possibly change my whole daily routines and health.

I pretty much broke even on the poker tables today.
Played my usual 25 HU hypers, got only 52% itm which means i'm down -0.06$ because of rake...Not much i could do there...
On the cash game i began my session with a horrible lost of 4 bi on NL2, decided to focus on only 2 table (i use to play 4) and changed to NL5 for 500 Hands.
--> After 1011 hands played today i'm up again on + 0.01$
so (mostly) break even day for me
Thoughts:
- i should look into how much i should call with QQ preflop, when i get jammed on i observed that in most of the cases im up against AA or KK
- Also not sure how to play AKo against a 3 bet....

Bankroll: 131.87
Plans for tomorrow:
Study todays session in the morning
fitness + meditation
play 25 HU hypers
play 1000 hands NL2/ 500 Hands NL5

Day 4:

Got wrecked at the cash game tables today.. - 17$!!!
That can't happen again, so i will take one or 2 days off the cashgames. No NL5 for me anymore...
Tournaments and HU hypers went really well on the other side
--> + 21.28$
played 23 HU hypers with 68% itm and 33% ROI + 11.58$
cashed in the Hot 3.30 and 2nd playe in a 1.50 18man SnG

Feel really well because of mediation today, not even the losses in the cash game could change my mood
looking forward to improve my cash game, and hopefully the tournament results keep coming in
bankroll:
136.43

Plans for tomoroow:
play 25 HU hypers
meditation
study cash game spots, where i lost my money today

HU hypers after 25 games --> loss of - 2.99$
ran really bad but there is definetly room to improve in these games too.
Really proud of me looking back on how the last week went down, got everything done what i wanted to do and i'm looking forward on how the next week will look like.

Bankroll: 133.37
Plans for tomorrow:
play 25 HU hypers
play 1000 Hands NL2
study some poker
follow my nutrition plan
workout
meditation

Day 8:
played 1. time a tilted session somehow today... really uncomfortable feeling...
Played 25 HU and ended up -14$
Bankroll back to 125$
Pretty disappointing session, but tomorrow it will be better and i will grind this loosing session back up again...
Learned:
Stop playing if you feel you're not winning today, tilt is a thing and it happend to me today!

Goals:
play 25 HU again, grind it up as usual and don't get disappointed if not. Loosing and downswings are part of the game too.

Day 9:
only played the hot 3.30--> itm for 5.40
but lost 2 HU
too tired today to play some more poker bc of exams today.

will be onthe grind after tomorrow again:

Plan for tomorrow:
nice breakfast
workout
meditate
learn for university 4 hours
study poker spots
play poker: 5 MTT's and 15 HU hypers

Day 10:
played mtt's and HU today--> -15.69$
Bankroll ist at 110$

Feeling good about my game most of the time, still got some leaks, but today i was absolutely cool when i got coolered and overall had a good mindset.
Let's get it back on the weekend!

After 10 days it's time for a little review:
- proud of my self discipline in almost all areas, BUT one problem is BIG:
--> i don't study enough poker and honestly i really don't know the right way to approach it...
That teaches me: I HAVE TO FIND A GOOD WAY TO STUDY THE GAME and i want to focus on tournaments, because for me it's the most fun to play tournaments.

Plan for tomorrow:
nice breakfast again
meditate
learn for university
learn about how i should approach studying my game
maybe a few HU, but don't have enough time tomorrow for the poker grind

Day 11:
Not happy how this is going atm

bankroll is at 103$

hit the downswing in the HU hypers, pretty devastating but thats poker...
It's interesting to see how the downswing affects my motivation, i feel less confident and play too timid because of this...
But I'm happy how i approach the whole thing, including the change in my lifestyle...
Today i will make a further improvement and will add ca. 20 min of reading everyday to my to do list

Plan for tomorrow:
wake up at 7 AM
meditate
nice breakfast
learn for university
spend at least 1 hour looking for coaching
play some HU hypers

After i have my last exam on thursday i will add more MTT's in my schedule and focus on them instead of HU hypers!

Update Sunday Session and todays session:

Started the challenge saturday night with 125$ bankroll. After a devastating sunday, i had to move down playing 2 tables NL5 and 1 Table NL2. Today I managed to make most of my losses back, most of the money came from NL5.
Bankroll is now at 116.26$, which means playing 3 tables NL5 again.
After studying the whole day yesterday, i came back today with confidence and some new techniques which worked out really well. I spotted, that i bluff too much and tend to slowplay my good hands, which was really bad.
graph of todays session:

Played about 4.1k hands so far, not sure if i hit my goal of 12k hands. 10k seems more realistic as i won't play on friday and saturday...

Played 1000 Hands on 3 tables NL5. ran pretty good and closed the session with +10$.
Played with the same strategy as yesterday, as some people called me off so light as i continued to heavily value bet my strong hands and avoided bluffs.

playing 2k hands tomorrow

Stats:
Bankroll back at 126$
played about 5k hands since start of challenge

Well...
I reached my goal of 2k hands, but that was one of the worst sessions i played so far.
Why is it, that if i start loosing in the first 300 hands my whole session is ruined and i lose buy-in after buy-in?
Eventhough i don't feel tilted as i play after my challenge-rules, there has to be some unconscious tilt influencing the whole session...I think overall i called off too light today, maybe also played a little bit too fast to reach my goal of 2k hands. Less thinking time = more bad decisions

Stats: Bankroll at 90$, 7k hands played in total of the 7-day challenge

Taking two days off now, will be back on saturday night and sunday to play hopefully the last 5k hands...

Update:
Just spent 10 min outside thinkin thinking back about this challenge so far and realized:
- i should not be rushing my goals, regarding the handvolume. I think i should be more focused right now to make the right decisions in play and forget about how many hands i play an hour.
- i should spend less time looking on the graph while i'm playing the session. I think if i look more to the graph if hes negative on the session it has a negativ impact on my mindset and i tend to call big value bets against me more lightly hoping to win back the lost money. Again: i should play to make the right decisions, not to make money, because in the first place i don't really care about it, since its just 100$.

I used to have a huge problem with "graph tilt" good luck on the challenge, and there isn't any reason to rush volume if you think it hinders your play.

thanks purpleriot, going to fix the "graph tilt" by hiding it while playing...

Update 24.02.19:

Got back 1 day later as i planed, which means this 7 day challenge is over without playing any more hands...
Played 2.5k hands on friday night tough, so i nearly hit my hand goal

Quick recap:
- i played 9.5k hands
- lost 60$
graph of this week:

Thoughts on the week:
- so rushing isn't the way to go, i should be more focused on the actual hands, than getting the volume in i a certain time period
- i need to study more spots, especially the big ones that i loose

what i learned so far:
- i call off too light, which is the main reason my graph is negative
- i c-bet a little bit too much
- i played too much hands out of position
- maybe sometimes too aggressive with my good hands?

Plan for next week:
- i will continue my 7 day cash-game challenge, currently at 65$, which means i'm starting with 1NL5 and 2 NL2
- i will not set a hand goal, but it should be possible to play 7-10k hands.
- study more spots

some other updates:
- i'm proud of my discipline so far since starting this thread:
--> eat healthy and plan my meals DONE
--> meditate 10 minutes every day DONE
--> train every 2nd day DONE
--> writing this blog (most of the time) DONE
--> don't play too high for my current bankroll DONE
--> studying for university DONE

So no problem that i lost 60$ this week, my discipline is on point and i can grind it up.

Lets go!

Update 01.03.2019
Had a pretty busy week so far and could only play 1.8k hands, slightly down but not terrible... I'm not gonna lie, i'm getting crushed atm, but i still think i'm good enough to show profit at this stakes... i need more i discipline, discipline and discipline to fold my weak hands i find myself always stuck in and where i loose all my money...

Graph of this week so far:

Will be grinding harder on my weekend! Goal is to make it back to 75$ bankroll.
Still grinding on my to-do list everyday and it goes really well!
Meditating is great for my mindset and I'm feeling really great after my training-sessions.

Back to my winning ways
Finally, after playing 1300 hands (1 NL5, 2 NL2) I had a winning session again this evening. Made like 5 Buy-ins in NL5 and break-even ish on NL2...
Graph today:

wanna share this cool hand:

No Limit Hold'em $0.02/$0.05
PokerStars
6 players

Stacks:
UTG - UTG ($8.44)
MP - MP ($25.97)
CO - Hero ($23.15)
BTN - BTN ($7.10)
SB - SB ($8.86)
BB - BB ($4.89)

Preflop: ($0.07, 6 players) Hero is CO with Ac As
UTG raises to $0.15, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.45, 3 folds, UTG raises to $1.50, Hero calls $1.05

Flop: Js Kh 6d ($3.07, 2 players - UTG: $6.94, Hero: $21.65)
UTG bets $1.56, Hero raises to $11.35, UTG calls $5.38 (all-in), Uncalled bet of $4.41 returned to Hero

Turn: 9h ($16.95, 2 players, 1 all-in - UTG: $0.00, Hero: $14.71)

River: 5d ($16.95, 2 players, 1 all-in - UTG: $0.00, Hero: $14.71)

Total Pot: $16.95
UTG shows Ad Kd (a pair of Kings)
Hero shows Ac As (a pair of Aces)

Hero wins $16.25

Thought process in this hand:
As you can see I had AA in position and chose to reraise 3x to utg raiser. He 4 bets around 3x to 1.50$ and i was like jamming, but he had another 140bb left and he would for sure fold his AK, lower pocketpairs to my 5 bet... this led me to just call and jam/bet big on any flop. It worked out so smoothly

Hopefully I will be back with the same positive energy tomorrow as today!

Cheers Beduines

Sunday Update:

Played 8500 hands this week, bankroll is at 62, which means i'm playing mostly NL2

graph of the week:

Got really crushed today at the zoom tables, so i played the first time on 6 regular tables for the last 1500 hands. The regular tables seemed much softer and i made like 5 buy ins in NL2 back... So i decided im gonna play ONLY regular tables in the upcoming week:

I will play 6 tables simultaneously and we'll see how that goes...

Not so happy how i played today at the zoom tables, couldn't fold QQ twice losing 2 buy ins against KK...
It's interesting, that at the regular tables i can make much more reads, which fits my playing style better, than the nitty zoom tables...

Overall happy with the week, reached most of my goals (meditated only 4 times)

Sunday update:

This week was my worst so far regarding poker and mindset. Accomplished some stuff, but still unhappy with things IRL. At least we had a very nice day on my girlfriends birthday!

Got crushed on the regular tables playing NL2, but only managed to play 2.5k hands this week:

Goals for next week:

Play 8k hands NL2 on regular tables
meditate every day
3 training sessions
finish proposal for bachelor thesis
buy a videocamera

see you next sunday!
