In the middle of last year I started a thread to crush online tournaments in NJ. Well that goal was met. I beat every tournament except one. Now this year the new goal is to become the best online tournament player in NJ. I want to be ranked number one on pocket 5s and in every category on the poker db. That includes high stakes, mid stakes, and micro stakes. When the question is asked who's the best tournament grinder in NJ. I want there to be no debate. The answer will be me. JERMZ

Last year I hesitated playing anything above a $400 buy in. Now that is a thing of the past. I doubt this year there will be a tournament that will be too big. I would also like to add that I have 100% of myself. I have never sold any action in my life and I don't plan on it.

I debated if I wanted to set such lofty goals for myself, but in the end its go big or go home. I'm ready to grind this year and I'm ready to make some money.

These results were great for 2014, but will not be acceptable for 2015.

Here's to running good in 2015. I love America.

Thanks guys.

Here's a quick recap of my year so far:
- Through 10 days I have one score that will count on the pokerdb high stakes leaderboard. Which is actually awesome. If I can get 1 score every 10 days, this year wil be amazing.

- I won a free seat to the WPT Poker Bootcamp in Hoboken, NJ yesterday. It was a pretty enjoyable experience even with a lot of basics being taught. But there were a few things that will help my game out. Free swag, free lunch, and a free $50 tournament ticket. If you guys want a bigger write up on it I might do one in a few days. Let me know.

- Today starts the GSSS II. Party Pokers big tournament series, woohoo. Plus WSOP has their series main event today. Today kind of feels like the true start of the poker year.

- Lastly, I set up a twitch live streaming account. http://www.twitch.tv/pokerjermz/. I'm rather inexperienced at it and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. But check me out. I plan on doing a couple hours atleast today. Get some free live strat. I'll post when I go live later today.

1/11 Recap

I was really hoping to update after my Sunday grind, but I've been busy. My son has been sick, so I stay with him all day. Then at night I grind my tournies and then sleep. Repeat the next day. Fortunately, now I have some time.

My Sunday started great. I started at 12 for a freeroll and won a free seat to the WSOP Main Event. Well that was the only thing I won. I had 2 min cashes in total on Sunday and could not stop running bad. It was extremely frustrating and it wasn't because I lost $2,100. It was because it was such a big day with a lot of potential and nothing came of it. A great opportunity to get some major points and I blank everything. I might only get a few more days with that much potential all year. Also, I started extra early because of the freeroll, so my day was over 12 hours long. What a freaking waste.

My lesson of the day:
The poker gods are cruel. You do not deserve to win. No matter how much you work on your game and no matter how hard you try. Running bad is going to happen and the only thing you can do. Is come back the next day and try even harder.

Seems like a great day though. You say you won a seat to the WSOP main which is $10,000 value itself. GG.

Haha. That would make more sense. Sry not from NJ so didnt even think of the wsop site. I was wondering why anyone would be disappointed in a day that they win a $10k seat.

Thought you were going to whine like "boohou but I also had $2k in buy ins so bla bla"

After you clarified that it was $200 it made more sense. How many $ in buy ins can you get online there? Any clue about the ROI you can attain (and maintain)?

No my bad I should have been more clear. Sometimes I get so absorbed into the NJ scene that I forget that other people don't know about it.

On a normal Sunday I usually play about $500 of buy ins on WSOP. On my blog in November I posted my ROIs per site. I had a 93% ROI on WSOP.com and I think that's among the best. Its really tough to get a really big ROI in NJ since the fields are small and the buy ins are big.

Thanks, I've been playing online poker for 8 years on a consistent basis and it can be such a cruel game. Its not too uncommon to go 0 for 20 even in small tournaments.

Weekly Recap (M-T)

After crunching some numbers I've concluded I had a pretty great week. Monday was pretty blah and break even, but after that things took off. Tuesday I had a profit of over $1,000. I won all three new super turbos on WSOP. They were just introduced I believe this year and they've been pretty hit or miss with attendance. The really great news is they were all a big hit on Tuesday. I believe they all nearly doubled their guarantees and I swept all 3 of them. The big $750 gtd, swelled to over $2,200 gtd. Winning that was not only very profitable, but it gave me leader board points on pocketfives.com.

Then Wednesday I started my twitch stream. Now the stream had some difficulties, but overall I thought it went well. I had a few people who seemed to enjoy and I appreciate it guys. I'm going to try to live stream atleast a few times a week starting at 8:30PM est. The bad news about the stream is I ran terrible. Took a lot of bad beats and lost $431. But I believe my play was pretty good, so I just have to move on.

Thursday night was great. I had a ton of tables going because I registered all 9 GSSS events and it started very hectic. But by the end of the night I final tabled two GSSS events. The first was a $2,500 gtd 6 max rebuy, which I finished 5th in. I got it all in preflop with AQo vs AQo and yes I lost. Sick way to end. My next final table was the $10k gtd 6max rebuy. Which I got 2nd in. That got me points on p5s leaderboard and also got me points on the Mid Stakes leaderboard on pokerdb. Also, I went on to come in third in the $1k Rebuy, which I won the night before. All of this was done while streaming, so it was a great Thursday night and I was very happy to see people tuning in.

With the GSSS events running I decided to not take my usual Saturday off and play the entire weekend. Friday night was fantastic. I took down two tournaments on 888 and had multiple deep runs on Party Poker. Two of which were in GSSS events. If a few more hands went my way I could of had my best Friday night of all time.

On Saturday night I kept on rolling. I got some run good on WSOP and cashed in the two events I played. Also, took 3rd in the 2k Turbo on PP for a second straight night. Which if you follow my live stream then you know 3rd place is a min cash, but its worth 4-5X your buy in. At this point of the weekend I was thinking two things. I'm running good and this weekend has potential to be my best all time. I was up around $2000 at this point and I had some big events on Sunday. However, in the past every time I had a good Friday or Saturday night I ran dreadful on Sunday. Well I'll let this GIF represent my Sunday.

I came crashing back down to earth and it didn't look pretty. All my run good was used up on the previous two days and I could not get anything going. Fortunately, I was able to salvage some of my night by jumping into the 6 max Turbo for $100 on PP and winning it. I don't play this tournament every night and up until then I never even cashed in it. Then I followed that up my finishing 8th in the Big Sunday $10k on 888. Shout out to stream following Jpriverzz79 for final tabling that event with me.

At the end of the weekend I was up around $1,000. Nothing insane, but I'll take it. Also, I was able to add some points for the pocketfives leader board. I didn't get a big win like I need to become number 1 in NJ, but I still made money.
