Ok so actually got some injections in lower back and on a muscle relaxer Rx today, seems I may have some kind of benign lipoma sort of thing that can develop from reoccurring back injury and it’s putting pressure on Sciatic nerve now. Doc says good to go in 3-4 days, not sure if I’ll pull off many marathon sessions anytime soon but I am dying to get back on the grind.

Reworking my linear and polar !3 ranges today for hj-co-bttn to compliment the dynamic size opens I wanted to try. Looking at the !3s though it feels too wide for my games and I will very likely need to trim things back to find the sweet spot.

Ok finally got the ball rolling albeit under an anticlimactic manner. Played day session at Orange Park today for first live game since ***** my back up again a few weeks ago. I only played the 2-2 nlh game and only stayed 6 hours but I was happy that my back held up and I had a good time.

Was in game for $380 left $444 for paltry +$64 but today was really just about testing out sitting for that long again. Biggest hand of consequence lost KK < KQ to aggro player after 3 betting his open pretty large, down bet on T74 when checked to, put him in on turn of J when checked to but couldn’t fade Ace river when he tank called. Not going into details on that one bc it was pretty boring and straightforward.

I DO have two interesting hands from the session though. Both involve the same villain who is directly to my right 30-some lag white dude opens wide pre and from too many spots but is decent post flop. Hands also occurred back to back which I felt made them more interesting. I should be perceived as fairly tight this session.

Hand 1) stack size $300 otb w/JJ, short stack UTG straddle for $4. Folds to V in cutoff ($220 behind) who makes it $12, I raise to $30. Blinds fold and short stack UTG immediately jams all in for $65. V tanks and then flats. This became a very weird spot here I feel I can often be beat with this flat so folding can’t be terrible but $35 more into pot of $160 also seems not terrible w/implied odds from V. Raising seems terrible. Flop 374 rainbow he tank checks I check behind. Turn 2 check check. River pairs the 4 he tank checks...I don’t think he’s calling any value hand I’m beating except maybe exactly TT(JJ?) and I’d be betting into potentially dry pot in the unlikely scenario that utg has bigger pair. After considering what feels would be thin value I check behind he wins with QQ, utg had AK.

Hand 2) very next hand folds to same lag V in hijack now he limps (he plays most hands pre usually opening but limping often as well). I look down at JJ in the cutoff and make it $8. I know this sizing is strange/small but as I mentioned I’m experimenting with distributed sizing tiers. Folds around to him and he makes it $22. As I’ve said he loves to open and me and button should both be seen as fairly tight so he shouldn’t expect to be setting a check raise here I think we can discount his top hands almost entirely so I wouldn’t expect to see anything above 10s and also no AK/AQs likely not even A9/AJs. His range should be heavily suited connects, small suited Aces, and all small pairs up to 9s. As to why he c/r, this open was smaller than all my previous opens which may have encouraged the raise. I rarely 4bet pre in a live low stakes nl game, even less often with JJ but in this exact spot bc of reasoning on his capped range and stack sizes (235 effective) I think it’s a perfect spot to 4bet to around $75 with the intention of folding to a raise. I do not and just make the call. Flop T75 rainbow he bets $30 I flat. Turn 8 bringing 2nd club he checks I check. River pairs the T and he leads $65. I think he has all the boats here, many tens, and some air. His turn check feels like value as I think this player would have fired again with air and draw combos. He could be turning something like 55 into a bluff. Bets a little large but not unusually so to pot. I tank fold he tells me I can pick either card I flip over the Q of spades. He later claims he had QT idk obviously, I think he could have had Q9 but would have more likely fired the turn again when he hit open ended. Important to note the T of spades was not on board. Pretty confident this wasn’t QQ again but I guess it’s possible,like I said I just haven’t seen him ever limp a premium hand especially in late position and we have played together previously.

So there it is 0-2 with the jacks there back to back to same V, I think I take it down pre on second one if I 4bet to $75. If he flats and checks I’m jamming many flops which could also be successful.

My goals will almost certainly be under this month in regards to volume and I’m ok with that bc of the injury, just gonna do what I can and try to knock out the other ones.

Have to work on some projects tomorrow but I’ll be back at it Friday afternoon/night and may jump in the 2-5 if looking good. I’ll update after the weekend with some stats/pictures/more hands.

Sorry haven’t bothered updating yet bc just haven’t been able to play barely at all; the nerve issue in back has just been super debilitating, working with a chiropractor now hopefully will improve. I did play today but drive to casino and sitting for 5.5 hr session was not pleasant. Game got really great but I ran like death and left +$38 whole dollars.

Def picked the wrong time to fire this thread up I guess. For sure gonna be behind on my bb/hr and volume hours goals this month but I’ll just try to overbalance into other goals. Hopefully can get things to come together July with a new set of goals. I’ll update end of month anyhow to see how things shake out.

This big crypto play heading back to green fast. May sell off on Friday if up and renter over weekend bc it’s a lot of $ at this point and the weekends have been red for a few now.

Went to the monument best bet Jax last night for 2 more short sessions one 2-2 nlh and then very briefly the plo8. +150 nlh -50 plo8. The plo 8 was amazing everyone was deep and repotting pre $200+ to flop was common. I probably should have put in a ton of time in it but I wasn’t feeling confident for some reason. I’ll def be hitting up more of it though.

The hands from the previous session I had mentioned:

Hand 1) 2-2 nlh w/stack of $350ish tight image I go to $16 pre with TT in mid position over Utg limp. Button w/300$ only decent player at table can be aggro postflop/can bluff flats on the button and it’s folded around. Flop 9-4-7 two spades I’ll often check my mp opening range here oop bc hits his flat better and if it’s a player like this that I think can bet worse hands/bluff. He checks behind turn is Qs. I check again he bets $25. I have the T of spades in hand, ofc he can have queen but this is also a great card for him to bet when checked to twice and it’s likely he picked up some perceived equity when he bets $25 and I call. River is a brick like a red 4 I check and he pretty quickly bets $55. My hand should read as low value one pair type hands or hands like Asx Ksx that bricked and aren’t calling anything so for this reason his bet here is pretty polarizing to flush/bluffs despite not being overly huge. I am leaning towards a call so tank and ask him what he has to let him know I have a hand of some value. He laughs a little and says he has the flush. Obv live reads are the last in terms of info but he is wearing a mask (not required) and sweat is beading up on the skin between his nose and eyes while I tank. I call and he mucks instantly.

Hand 2) 2-2nlh $450 behind vs table maniac who has $600+ and is drinking heavily and telling everyone his exact holdings (like exactly, almost every hand when he hits). He has straddled Utg for $4 folds to me and I make $16 with TT in hj. He makes it $32 and I flat to go to flop hu. Flop is interesting TJQ rainbow he leads out $60 I ask him what he has and he says KQ, he absolutely has not lied the entire session so I think a raise is possible here but I flat as he’s never folding and it should be easy to play vs an essentially upturned hand. Turn K now he leads out $120. Now a raise seems like a stretch and a fold seems fine vs most players but easy call vs him. River Ace check check chop pot vs his KQ unfortunately.

Yes Jacksonville area. Panama City a ways a way I’ve never played there but if I were to drive far it would be Tampa or S. Fla to catch big action at a Hardrock series or something. Orange Park Best Bet, Monument(Jax) Best Bet, and Daytona are the main rooms I play now; Orange City poker room is a little over an hour from me and has some good action. North Fl poker rivals S. Fl on a smaller scale but comparable game availability and possibly softer games, both these markets better than central fl and panhandle options.

Liquidated all the cryto today in green with modest profits. Probably was still in at a good point but I’m hesitant to hold right now that large (for me) amount of $ tied up from price averaging down multiple times and current volatility and possibility of continued downtrend. I will look to reenter for lower prices for smaller positions again possibly over weekend. Off to put in more sessions today-weakened will update stats and goal results for June when month concludes.
