Hi I’m Ryan and after living in Las Vegas for well over a decade playing poker mostly full time (for more background/context check out my thread in the Las Vegas Lifestyle subforum) I came back to Florida (my home state) in the wake of the Covid shut downs. It was always my intention to come back sometime as I had completed my masters degree and the live poker environment was really nothing special anymore even before the whole pandemic, however I do love the city so it took said pandemic to finally be the catalyst.

I toyed around with the idea of tracking some of my goals and progress here and on my old social media pages (Twitter and IG @Wheydacheese) but have been a ghost online since moving and took another crappy event to get around to it. I have a bad disc in lumbar that goes out maybe once a year lately and lays me up for 5 days to a week. So here I sit typing out this and also trying to take some time to work on game off table.

I had been initially working another job here in Fla but as I’ve been playing more and the state has been opening up more poker has become a more viable option for me again and I have gone back to playing live full time. Recently only been playing majority of 1-2/2-2/1-3nlh w/only playing 2-5nlh on weekend nights and a few better games. I suspect I’ll play a lot more like 50-50% in month of June. I have been financially very fortuitous since moving having had a hot plo run in Orange City that I parlayed into Etherium gains and just recently caught the dip on weekend w/Bitcoin-Cash in at average price of $475 and then right out back at $765. I will annoy you guys with occasion bad crypto, stonk, and sports betting advice if you would like. Either way I have some extra $ to light on fire.

Overall goal of thread is simple, I want to see how far up I can push things here in Fla if I’m able to get refocused on progressing game. More specifically I will break down monthly goals/challenges when I do them, and results. I’ll be playing mostly cash with occasional tournaments. This is not a strat thread by any means but I’ll sometimes post some hands feel free to rip me on them or legitimately advise me on your opinions. Follow along if you’d like and I hope you get some amusement.

***JUNE GOALS***

1)100 live hours played

2)40 hours poker related study/review

3)10+ bb/hr (I hate these results goals but fk it)

4)50%+ 2-5 played.

5)Experiment with 3-tier dynamic open/3bet sizing (this is something I’ve been playing around with that is theoretically interesting but probably completely unnecessary in these games and too much of a complicated pain in the ass in actual practice but I’ll still play around with it some).

That’s about it for now, I’ll update next week when I’m able to get back on the tables.

My phones not been letting me upload photos via the app I’m using on this forum so I’ll see if that’s changed if not I’ll have to figure something else out.

God my back is so jacked still. I had hoped to fire this up on Wednesday but I’m now shooting for Friday to get the June sessions rolling. Just getting in and out of a car is quite painful.

I feel like neglecting my diet and health the last year or so landed me in this mess so as I try to rehab over the next few months I’ll be focusing on cardio/core strength/dropping some weight. This won’t turn into a fitness journal I promise just warning everyone it’s a lot easier and less frustrating to stay healthy than to do damage control.

Not much else going on to talk about, crypto degening I bought 20 lite coin at $150ish and I will get back in BTC-cash if we can get it in high 500s again. I’m buying 100 shares of AMC in premarket this coming week and hedging it with some Friday exp put contracts...could go poorly for me if it just trades sideways but that seems least likely scenario.

Me and brother in law might be constructing a cool mining rig more for entertainment than anything else bc I’m a hardware nerd and he’s a programming guru. I expect it should at least maybe break even for us but we are having a really hard time getting any of the gfx cards we need at remotely viable prices bc of the shortages. He is working on a bot script to spam drops so fingers crossed we score something.

I’ve taken some time to reconstruct my pre-ranges for a semi balanced 3 variable sizing open, so far only for hj co and bttn. The issue Im having now is potentially having my smallest sizing be 3bet too often to defend/to justify it, especially since right now I have anything super premium in the larger opening size. That’s why I think it will only be effective from hj+ and should maybe just stay standard opens utg-hj. May still be just really stupid and ineffective in actual practice but I’ve been so bored it keeps me thinking about things and will keep me more engaged playing so I’ll give it a go this month anyhow.

Ok all done bored ranting.

Got 100 AMC around $27 premarket, didn’t end up hedging the premiums were not workable. Just sold at $33. (+$600)

Sold the Litecoin 20x at $187.49 (+$750)


Not in anything now, probably won’t be until Friday. I’m putting a buy order for 100 AMC at $28 again on my other acct so will see if that triggers.

Would rather be playing pokerz but +$ is nice.

Lol was just told my boss bought AMC at $18 and sold when it went down from there at a loss. Oops

It’s a casino with these Reddit pumps. I could get wiped out on both my accounts right now without effecting much so thats lets me swing at some of the volatility without being as nitty/conservative as my naturally risk taking tends to be. I haven’t even been using stoplosses on these last several trades.
