About me: Hey guys! Im Dfish! Im a 23 year old recovering alcoholic and former professional chef. After working in some of the finest kitchens in Baltimore for many years im sick of it and am looking to purchase a home elsewhere.

I started playing poker in home games when I was 17 or so with some highschool buddies before poker was legalized in my state, not long after I was 18 black Friday happened and I was unable to play for many years.

Over three years later I was able to set foot into the first ever poker room in MD and fell in love with the game all over again. I decided to play full-time at the beginning of 2014 and it has been one of the best years of my life. I have traveled more, explored myself more, and lived more.

But now its time to get to work!

What to expect: I will be using this thread to monitor sub-goals, track progress on my house fund, and should include some comical poker musings from "The greatest city in America."

Not to mention Food Pr0n!

Is "The Wire" a fair description of Baltimore? Do you guys say "shieeet" alot for the lols?

I think I'm looking at an overall monetary goal of 40k.

I've been rather lazy this year only putting in around 500hrs so I think I'm going to channel my inner duke and marathon my way to 1300 before the year is over so I'm looking at 50hr weeks.

Solid volume + a few promo binks and we should be halfway there.

So I've decided to start a sub-goal kicking off tomorrow.

Had some serious life variance in October.

A family memeber has been very sick and I sort of had to play "caretaker" until I could get her into professional care.

Took advantage of that downtime by studying alot of poker. Read 3 books, read all of the COTW/COTW in LLSNL/BQ/MHFR. watched a few vids and listened to all of Bart Hansons Deuce Plays podcast.

Been playing online a bit to stay sharp.

Since my previous hourly goal is now impossible to reach I suppose I need a new objective.

I've got a trip planned to AC the week of the 17th, plan is to chain myself to the poker table and make up for the lack of earnings in October. If any of you guys are AC locals or happen to be visiting the same time maybe we can grab a bite or some coffee or something and talk poker or whatever you want. Im going solo so it'd be good to have some human interaction away from the poker table.

Bonus goes to any pro tips to AC trips.

Why not?

It;s really terrible in more ways than I can count. I mean if you are just going to stay at Borgata its fine but I'd much rather just stay in Charm City and commute to the Shoe or MD Live every day, sleep in my own bed, etc.

Like outside of B there is nothing attractive at all about being there this time of year. Summer you could argue go to the beach, run on boardwalk, etc but now...it's just awful.

I refuse to not have a good time!
