I think doing anything other than checking with the A5 on turn turn is a bit too fancy for nl2, it's bad in general. Turn 4 diamonds I think overbetting is probably good. If his value range is 55-JJ like you said ( some Qx, KK and AA too ) on turn you shouldn't be probing such a weak hand oop.

Flop doesn't hit your range well, it hugely favours UTG. When the board is paired it's very unlikely you have trips and you're going to have a hard time getting people at micros to fold PP's.

hey thanks!

Yes board favours villain utg open, but after flop check back I think we can remove almost all his Qx and overpairs from his range.

Yeah I agree... Specially 3bet pots overpairs, 99 on 348 for instance, they usually call at least 2 streets.

But well, one thing it made me happy is because I thought about the hand, ranges and how the board affect those ranges while I was playing it (4 tabling, I never thought that was possible since weeks ago I was basically clicking buttons in sooooo many spots!). For me it is a little personal achievement.

The MMAsherdog videos and hand reviews on youtube are very helpful and free to try and think about hands. I feel a lot of people myself included struggle so much with that.

Merci dude

Two days 2k hands, haven't had much time to grind, and when I had I decided to play a card game on an app: cassine, it's a pretty cool card game, but is hard to find strategies and so on on the internet because when you search the name it shows casinos... And if you search "cassine card game" it shows casino's card games xD... I need to refine the search tho ahaha...

Down 3 buyins, breaking even ev wise, feel good and comfortable about the game, even though today played a bit distracted and bored. Many preflop suckouts, not many interesting stuff, basically hands where I have to bet fold to check raise because have not much equity, suckouts etc. One week ago would be down 10 buyins instead of 3. So going to watch more videos to learn more

Some hands all standard besides the AKo shove call which I run through the equity calculator and I have 18% vs top ranges, but I assume that in this stakes people have a bunch of **** preflop so I have the 30% needed vs population. The rest is standard.

Hi had forgot about this thread!

I was playing NL5 soon after the last posts, but then I had to cash out my whole roll and went to a stable. Atm mixing NL10 and NL25 but progressing a lot in learning (although could have more volume but it is impossible atm). In stable 1k euro a month only doable at NL100 and full time.

Can't post graphs off for obvious reasons

Update: To keep myself accountable regarding volume and so on, I will dig this thread and try my best to post daily graphs. Stake is nl25.

A disaster of a day results wise. Couldn't get much going on actually, standard variance stuff like missing boards and one or other cooler. Redline clearly affected since I've had to check fold every turn in 3bet pots after bet (no equity/ bad turn cards). Still made a couple of mistakes in order of 40bb~ where I was deviating from my strategy, and that is a clear sign of micro tilt so I've decided to end the session there.

Month so far. Volume is honestly pathetic (I usually put between 30k-40k on regular tables). Next week I will be off the tables from the 20 to the 25, and with work, I really won't be putting those numbers this month. Aiming to 10k by Friday, and then try to do 8k from 25 to the end of the month and let's see how it goes.

Today played some fast format in the morning since had literally zero tables (or tables with less than 3 people on the waiting list) across 3 sites, which sucks, since the wr in fast is way lower. Made a big mistake, a pure brain fart that has no other name and it hurts the wr A LOT!

This maybe a mistake, but I don't think it is. Villain is reg-rec 4 4 3 agg over ~3k hands and 50% bet river. I think the call is ok (only read I had was donk pot river as a bluff but this is a different scenario). Without a diamond I think I can call here.

Nothing much to say about them. Random spazzes. The JT in particular is not good. Rather be aggressive vs pop. than nitty though. Graph for the day:

Update:

- No grind today and no grind for the next week as well. Managed to get to the 10k hand mark.
- Need absolutely to change my mental preparation. I don't really agree that one should necessarily have 20 thousand mental routines, rituals and so on (at least not on this stake), but I feel that I could put way more volume without procrastinating. In reality, 3 hours day is achievable, which gives me ~45k hands monthly on reg tables.

Restarting the month after vacations. Vacations were fun, nice time to relax and to enjoy a bit of the beach, even though I went to Northern Spain were the water is very cold, it also has a nice color to it. Ended up going through 3 rolls of film and just sent them to the lab to get the photos, looking forward to it! Also had the best breakfast's on a hotel I stayed in here, very cool! A lot of fruits and stuff!

Need to put some 5k hands at my lower limit now per requirements, which is also a good thing since you are so far away from the game when you come back from vacations.

I like parts of the A4s hand hehe, obv 3betting vs utg is a bit sketchy, but if he calls with K6s i guess we like
On these double broadway boards without an ace i would always use 50%pot on flop if we dont play a mixed strat, ppl play way worse vs that too and u get to jam a bunch of turns wich is fun, as played i like the check/jam very much to if you think he'll stab a decent amount, wp!

Is more based on population tendencies: preflop A4s mixes 3bet and call, but given that people tend to open a bit wider ep, and overfold to 3bet, you can 3bet full frequency.

Postflop you can argue that since people overfold pre, his range is a bit stronger, but nevertheless and since they do tend to overstab a bit (in my analysis at least), x jam is a good as an option as second barreling (I'm never x calling here without a veryyyyy solid read).

As for the sizings, I only bet 1/3 (srp and 3bet), unless it is a recreational in which case I use various sizes but tend to use bigger ones with value and small ones for protection/bluff. The problem with splitting your sizes is that you open yourself to not having a solid strategy since you will make a lot of mistakes on later streets. For instance, in this spot I think we x range (I remember studying this spot but I'm not 100% certain about it, I think vs ep, either from the BU or the blinds, on 2broadway boards and A+broadway boards we love to x range or bet a very small frequency even with 1/3 only), but there are other spots where cbeting 1/2 or 2/3 generates a bit more of ev on the flop. For instance, the optimal PIO strategy on A+broadway and x flop, bu vs bb 3bet, is to bet like 50% 2/3 (since you have a clear range and nut advantage).

However, when you start introducing different sizes on the flop, no matter how much ev you gain, you will have a different strategy on the turn, way more complex, and your mistakes will be way more costly. Hence, simplifying specially when people won't explore you (pop. folds ~50% to bet in 3bet pots, so 1/3 prints a LOT of money), like in micros, you should simplify your strategy. It isn't fancy or elite, but we are in it to make money

Long time since I ran any sims SBvsEP as I played mostly 3-4 handed last months I played, I was actually wrong, 1/3 is the prefered size in this specific spot, not sure what ur on about checking range haha as it's a range bet but :P

I'm all for simplifying but what I'm saying is that 1/3 is a "bad" choice of size in most spots, and the size ppl have played most vs also, most boards/positions in 3bet pots 1/2pot is preffered over 1/3 if you play one size only (until you get deeper stacks, then 1/3 gets used a lot). But whatever works, if you havent studied larger sizes and how you play on later streets than stick to what ur doing, if it's working

I've went and checked, is mostly a range check bvb in KQJ and so on, also BB vs EP my results gave me a 79% check, but in 3 broadways like that, not on two (solver also loves to x a lot in QT9 and similar boards). That all changes if you change ranges preflop anyway.

Vs a solver it might be of course, and I have no doubt that it generates more EV (I'm certain of it, the same can be said by split strategies and so on). The thing with range betting 1/3 is that the population overfolds a lot (~10%), and the strategy is way simpler to implement on later streets. I believe, specially at this stakes, that since people overfold so often on the flop, it will be easier for you to make mistakes on the turn and river, specially by vbeting too thin (people still won't bluff catch river enough). But I guess it depends, I mean, guys like Berri and Stefan play way different than Linus or Nacho... Many ways to win in poker ehhe.

Had a "bad" day, poker wise, not because of results but because I played B game and C game, which is a shame, but well it happens. Graph and some funky hands, plenty of mistakes ofc.

Standard cooler. Don't know about turn raise since I have a club, but I don't really want to see a club and villain to x fold his Ax (pairs and 2pairs)

Vs maniac rec. Don't know if I can value bet the turn, but given that he probes a lot, I think protecting the xrange here is ok with this hand. River is standard imo

Vs recreational (not many stats but limps randomly donk bets etc.). Not sure about turn play, river I think we are allowed to donk for value here, basically on top of our range, vs a recreational who plays a lot of Ax like that usually, we can value bet vs AT-AK. Got slow rolled ahahaha

Here I think the bluff is ok. I don't beat anything, he has AK some frequency (this guy would stack it off pre almost always), low frequency of sets (specially with a recreational in the blinds), so I guess QQ-JJ-Kx are a big part of his range and he is probably folding a lot of then. I don't think I beat anything in showdown here. But when you run good you do xD

Last couple of days have been brutal variance wise and still not playing very good. Made around 150bb worth of mistakes! Mainly because I couldn't find the fold button with overpays vs recs in big pots :X.

Happy with the volume though, not bad at all!

Another day struggling against variance but also making mistakes. Can't really make 2.5bb/100 mistakes! Even though they are usually bluffing. Need to learn to give up a bit
