Fun session 4tabling NL25, too nitty to make anything decent so probably will continue to avoid these. Still 100x better than Stars though.

Will be hitting the live games again this weekend, feel some serious run-good coming, watch this space for XXX chip-porn!

Which SNGs did you focus on to build this up so high initially. Is there enough volume to multitable SNGs over there.

Kept a pretty rigid 20bi bankroll at the 5-seat SNGs and always moved up. There's definitely enough volume to grind all day up to €10 games and NL100. Tails off a little at €25 during off-peak hours.

Ran like holy hell at first but pulled off a win by the wee hours of the morning. Best play of the evening, FOUND FREE PARKING!!

Getting into a really good habit of hitting the gym hard before every casino session now. Puts me in the right frame of mind for playing whilst balancing out my ADHD to actually concentrate on the game.

First orbit ran TPTK into a set and lost AKvs77 AI, but managed to pull off another small but winning session. Left early, couldve been more but ended up in the awkward spot of horrible seat positioning vs regs with a £300 stack.

Serious lack of fish even at the €10 SNGs this month and its made me rethink grinding online.

Pretty much all my profit has been from live this month, and might be +LifeEV to spend my weekday evenings studying, gym etc., then hit the live games at the weekends which are far easier and 10x the stakes.

Not that hard to beat Polk to 10k. He's just avoiding his BR challenge with every excuse he can find.

Up 93 squids at the casino tonight. Ended up cutting the session short though cos they changed the deck 3 times in an hour, scum-bag kept marking the cards. What's usual etiquette here, call him out Ol' West style? They usually call the floor for this?

Weee bit of a gap with back-to-back bastarding colds and travels to Thailand, but a nice first session back at the casino. Close to the 2 bags mark!

Bluff of the night @ NL100

CO (hero): QK (£100)
BTN (£150)

PREFLOP
4 limps
Hero raises £7
BTN calls
the rest fold

FLOP 2 6 8 (£19)

Hero raises £12
BTN raises to £27
Hero all-in
BTN shows an 8 and folds

This was fun, but gotta work on my heart-attacks when bluffing live, must have been visible out the side of my head!

Last time I saw Doug do the challenge, he was struggling to beat micro stakes. Which I thought is a little strange, how a world class player could barely beat the smallest stakes cash games. He wasn't even running badly either. It sort of proves poker is dead if a player of Polk's ability can't beat micro stakes.

I hope he continues the challenge, but like you say, he's finding an excuse not to do it.

Good luck OP. I think you will beat him easily!

There's a reason why he's coaching now and that's because he can't beat high stakes anymore

Dumped £110 online @NL50 and £90 at the casino @NL100. Oops. Clashed with a reg in a 4betting war within the first 10 hands and lost an all in KJ vs A2 preflop The arse then gets AA, KK within the next few hands.

Online account busted and not much motivation to reload, making a ton more live with far less variance.

Also work may be possibly moving near a big casino soon, 1 time!!!!

4 buy-in downswing, genuinely bummed out! Haha. And to make it worse that donk-luckbox has overtaken me in 2 sessions, wasn't he just on $50?!

Most hands have just been getting 1/4 stack in dominating, they smash the flop and I pay off a few small bets. Nicer than getting stacked but they add up!

Here's a couple of the biggies...

Hand 1

Villain to my right, loose-passive-bad reg shown he's scared of betting JJ,QQ,KK. Ive been 3betting him a ton, making him fold or showing down winning weak hands.

Villain (£125)
HERO (£150) A 9

Few limpers
Villain raises £4
HERO raise £7
Limper fold
Villain 4bets £18
HERO call

FLOP KTT (£40)

Villain bets £10
Hero calls

TURN 2 (£60)

Villain bets £20
Hero calls

RIVER 5 (£100)

Villain bets £52
Hero calls

REASONING: the 4bet and barreling of this dangerous board from a loose-pass who knows I 3bet him with doggie-dick all day screamed of draws, air or AA. Plus I was floating with position, turned nutflush draw, and getting pretty good odds on a hero call.

Spoiler:
F**er tables AA, ugh

Hand 2 - Only played a few orbits

Villain: Old guy to my left, fricken killing it and reading a news paper. Previously 3bet me early positon with A10o and bullying the table like crazy. He's been in every pot, 3bet and 4bet! A few hands ago I saw him 3 barrel air on Ace flop.

Villain (£700)
HERO (£100) K Q

HERO raises £4
Villain raises £14
Hero raises £28
Villain calls

FLOP Q 5 8

HERO checks
Villain checks

TURN 4

HERO checks
Villain checks

RIVER 3

HERO checks
Villain all-in
HERO calls

Spoiler:
Villain says "straight" and tables A2o

REASONING: 4bet to exploit his weak 3bet range and knock his Ax off some low flops, play back a bit to stop him 3betting so much. Obv I hit the nuts of a flop and let him hang himself.

WHAT WENT WRONG: F*** knows, I've been losing sleep how he didn't make a play on the flop or turn.

Decided I cannae be assed.

Lotta stress n hastle in poker and it just ain't worth the $10/hour or whatever I'll be grinding out. Putting that time into a course, gym etc. is just way better EV, life and financial.

Cashed it all out, paid off the Thai holiday and sorted my deposit on a flat.

Final thoughts: Online's great for learning, building a roll, but ffs get your ass down your local casino as soon as possible. I don't think I played 1 person who wasn't making horrendous amateur mistakes down there and lowest stakes are NL100!

Well good effort. Clearly turning $100 to 10k is difficult even with a high range of skill and poker know how.
