update NL10

allright 5NL went pretty good and we started with a bankroll of $245 this week and moved up to NL10. The result after a week is not great. my bankroll dropped to $212, But I played really good at NL10 on stars! I lost a bunch of hands that I had in the bag and lost some coin-flips so it looks like a little downswing (you will see it in the graph).

Overall my game play improved in my opinion because I am less afraid of playing pots to the river. I was trying to make people fold way to much and then didn't give myself the chance of making good value when I have a mid-strength hand vs a mid to weak holding.

stats:
hands played: 3812
sessions: 11
hours: 12
bb/100: 2,65

My first update on 2NL...

I played 4400 hands and I won $7 dollars. My bankroll is $19 at the moment.

I have been focusing on Button position. I play normally and pretty tight on EP, MP and CU. When Its my turn on the Button and nobody raised or limped before me I play 100% of my hands.

When I reach the flop vs BB I c-bet a lot of my hands on good boards like 883 or K92. I check on boards like JT8 or AJ9. It seems to work for me.

I will be focusing on my BB play and try to improve my defending skills vs BTN.

Played 7000 hands and my BR=$36,00

I am doing pretty good on 2NL. I try to play in good positions and where I can play cheap I will play multi pots.. Still playing 100% hands on the Button when I am first raiser. I said I would focus on 3-betting and playing Cutoff but on 2NL they just don't 3-bet that much so I just fold with a terrible hand and only continue with okay to good hands in position.

My question for myself is when to move up to 5NL. I have read a few articles where they say the players are better still fishy but not as much as 2NL. So they recomment $150 dollar for 5NL. In my head comming from $12 dollar I thought of a $50 bankroll should be good. But I don't wanna go broke and it is a matter of patience if you are being realistic (so just grind till $150 looks like the best option). So I will be trying to put my mind of $50 and focus on $150.

But first we need to reach a $50 bankroll! So my plan is to keep my plan solid and don't make that many changes for now.

We reached a $50 dollar bankroll!

And I tried to take a shot at 5NL and made the deal with myself to be able to drop til $40 bankroll..

I lost 1 BI (Buy Inn) so my bankroll now is $ 45.

The next session I will start at 2NL and will take a new shot at 5NL when I reach a $55 bankroll.

Good night all

Back at 2NL

I did 3 sessions from a bankroll of $45 and I should have won $7,50 but I lost -$3. So I have a little of a downswing but that is normal in poker. I am glad to see that I still play good after my 5NL shot.

Our goal is still grinding 2NL to a bankroll of $55. Its a trick I learned from a other poker player. When you are taking a shot at a higher level and you fail, you want to go back at your past level and win more money then you started when taking a shot. This is to keep you motivated and also making sure your bankroll is growing instead of declining when you are taking shots to a next level.

Lets do this!

Still grinding at 2NL

I should already be tacking a shot at 5NL but a downswing is keeping me from taking my new shot. Because I should have a bankroll of $58 but variance is a *****.. I am at a $43 bankroll right now.

I am impressed by myself by not tilting because of the downswing. I still play good poker and make good all-ins but I lose them unfortunately.

So for next sessions it still is at 2NL trying to reach a $55 bankroll.

Hey guys,

My name is Tom.
I've been playing poker off and on for the past 15 years. Now with this corona thing i'm sitting at home more than ever before and picked up playing (lots) again.

I've thought of this new challenge where I start with +/- $100.00 and try to increase this with at least 5% daily.

Here's some promising numbers that'll keep me motivated:

5% growth daily starting with $100.00: in 2 months time this oughta be around $2000.00 .....Def something to look forward to since corona has hit my 1-man-business as an entertainer/pianist pretty hard.

I hope posting my progress daily will keep me level and focused, as it instills a sense of regarding my playing as a business.

This bankroll progress DOES include rakeback money.

I'll allow myself a 20 buyin bankroll for any game; dropping down the the previous limit at 17 buyins.

Once I'll hit 25c/50c I'd like that bankroll to be 50 buyins.

I will focus on 2 tabling zoom NL hold'em 6 handed.

Think I can do this??!

Here's the first (today's) numbers, playing 2c-5c only:

Apr 3rd:

Start of day - $113.50
End of day - $160.58

Okay back to my challenge.

I did another session on 5NL and I managed to grow my bankroll to $73.
At the start of the session I made some bad plays (c-betting wrong boards and bluffing in stupid spots). But after I told myself to keep focussed and play your normal game it went good.

So the plan is to keep at it on 5NL!

good day all,

I am greatfull to still play on 5NL. I managed to grow my bankroll to $80.

But that is not the mean thing I am happy about. I am playing good poker IMO and my Graph is agreeing with me.

I have been playing poker for years and to show a nice steady mindset and a good solid poker plan for 2NL and 5NL makes me feel good.

I am far away of 10NL but that gives me time to show myself that I can beat 2-and 5NL steady and still learn on some weak spots in my play.

Some spots where I feel comfortable is when I am on the BTN in SRP vs BB or SB and in cheap multiwaypots.

Some spots where I am not comfortable is 3-bet pots and where I am playing a hand in the SB.

So there still is a lot to learn. You might think why is this dude making money on these stakes while he can't play properly in 3-bet pots. IMO that is because on these stakes people are not 3-betting a lot and don't apply really big pressure on my hands.

But I wanna be ready when the times come they will be doing that. So grind steady on 5NL and learn tp play in SB and 3-bet pots more..
