Hey there!

The last 2 month were hell for me pokerwise. At the beginning of September i was still on pace for SNE and i decided to go for it hardcore. Grinding plo200 and 500, but also working on my game quite a lot (for my standards).
However, I lost about 30-40k $ due to bad run and very poor play since that point of time and pretty much crashed my bankroll.
Now i am back to plo100 grind, rebuilding my br.

I am creating this thread to remind me to never value volume goals over quality play again.

My Goal is to make 20k$ profit including rb by the end of 2015, which would give me a healthy roll for plo200.

I will achieve that by working tons on my game and also grinding a reasonable amount.

If you are a plo reg and are looking to improve your game, feel free to contact me for a session review/sweat session/whatever you like to do.
My experience is that talking to other regs who are willing to improve helps alot! Although it can never replace spending time "in the lab".

Thank you for the reminder. Value > volume all day every day. That's why the worlds best don't really mass table (in most cases).

Best of luck to you

thx

still not making progress moneywise. However i started to work on my game again. One of my biggest leaks has always been, that i am loosing tons in the big blind.
I have tried several styles there from folding very little to steals to folding quite alot.
Recently i started to tighten up again, i think thats a reasonable adjustment to make at lower stakes (and decreased skill?).

Furthermore i saw that im winning significantly less than other regs, when i 3bet vs late position. I took a look at a couple of spots today and also looked how the top regs in my db play those spots. I think i found some differences, although i need to be careful there, as the samplesize on other regs is rather limited.

Hey!

I'm back at plo200! I had a nice heater in the beginning of the year, followed by an ongoing breakeven stretch. But my confidence is back now and im looking forward to work on my game again!
I know some ppl will disagree, but to me personally the stars changes were great. Sure, i get way less rakeback because not only did they cut it, but im also playing lower volume since im not incentivised to mass grind anymore. But nevertheless it took away some pressure. In the past i often felt like "i have to grind, its my job" but now i am way more picky about the players i play against and about the circumstances i play under. In addition to that i feel like the 200 pool on average is softer this year, but maybe its only because a few regs are still on vacation/playing live events.

My goals for the next few months will be to hire a new coach, so that im able beat plo500 by this summer. Furthermore i will try to get in touch with other and better regs than me to talk hands / study together. I totally neglected it the last few months, but i think talking and working with other players is crucial for a succesful development as a poker player and actually for any other area of life.

See you at the tables
