I'm not. I am actually a white guy from North Dakota. It is just my last name.

Re: Back at it

Hey what's up everyone,

I had a pretty bad session tonight BI wise and lost 4BI. I felt like my decisions on the big pots were just ok. There really seems to be a gap between my poker knowledge and what actually occurs at the tables, so I think this is my biggest leak. A lot of my poker knowledge came from pre-2015 era. I know a lot has changed, but it has been difficult to adjust. Some fish in the micros still play like they used to while other "fish" (a.k.a weak regs) play a stronger game, and I have a difficult time deciphering between the two.

I made some pretty high variance plays tonight that did not pay off. I stacked off with AK, 1010, and AJ pre flop and lost them all. The 1010 was weird and I felt like I leveled myself. I got into the mode of thinking this guy is 3betting light, so I am going to 4bet light, and I gave the villain credit for acknowledging I am 4betting light, and so I called his 5bet shove. I had 30% of my stack in pre-flop so from what I know you just can't fold in this situation. Even though I feel like I am getting crushed 8/10 times.

The AJ hand, a fish who was playing at like 60/24 3bet shoved all in and I called and he showed up with AQ, which I believe to be towards the top of his range.

Anyway, pretty terrible night overall. Hopefully I can recover tomorrow
