First things first, I've had two P&G's before but both fell off after some time due to just being to busy and having my life change significantly.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...vegas-1536612/

This is the first and really the main one. During this thread I made a lot of life changes and even ended up leaving my 9-5 job and playing poker professionally for close to two years. I made it to Vegas, but unfortunately by the time i got there i had stopped actively posting.

2nd thread
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...ralia-1647762/

Was planning to go travel Australia and play poker, however due to legislation changes there and motivation just dying never really got the thread off the ground.

_______________________________________________

Fast forward to today, i've reached a point where my poker has fallen behind the curve that I am happy with. I know that i have no one to blame but myself and it comes down to lack of commitment. If we go back to my first original post it's all about 100/0. I want to get back to holding myself accountable and set some goals that I will strive for.

Poker is no longer my only source of income and I do have to devote around 4 days on average a week to my work. This is part of the reason that my poker has fallen, i have become comfortable with my life and not pushing to make it even better by continuing to get stronger at poker which is always the dream. As 2018 rolls to an end it allowed me to reflect on it and from a poker standpoint it was a complete failure. From hours played live, to hands played online and even to winnings it was all far lower then i had predicted going into the year.

Going to use this thread as a way to keep on pace and remind myself of my own personal goals as I have always found it to be very helpful to write down thoughts to hold myself accountable. With this thread i cannot hide from bad plays and other things as long as I am being 100% transparent.

I am going to start things out slow online, as i don't want to redeposit (I haven't deposited since i can remember) I'm going to start lower stakes to get my game back into shape but am going to treat this part as somewhat a bankroll challenge and take shots quicker. I've played as high as NL200 quite comfortably a few years ago but i know things have changed.

Live i'm just going to play mostly 1/3 which often has a 6$ straddle as well max 400 buyin. I'm not really rolled to play in the 2/5/10 game that is the next level up in Vancouver.

I'm also in a WSOP league and currently 6 weeks in the books and i'm leading in points. The winner of this league after 15 weeks is going to win entry into the Main Event this coming summer.

Other intentions of this year:
Get back to NL100 reg playing 20k hands a month
Play 10 hours live a week or 40 hours a month
Stream some of my sessions on Babs_poker
Create some Vlogs of the Vancouver poker scene.

All of these things hopefully will make me feel more satisfied with where i'm going in poker as 2018 was not a year to be proud of.

Brought the New Year in last night, just stayed in with the GF and played some video games with friends earlier in the day.

Played some hands the day before, won't be getting 2019 off to a quick start as in two days i'll be writing an exam for my designation. Hoping to get some hands in today as its a full day off also hoping to get some of my footage together for that first live session that I recorded.

Okay so i need to figure out how to post hands from the site that i play on as the converter isn't work. Doesn't seem to be working for me

Been a couple days of small sessions so didn't feel to obligated to post without the hand converter but i think i figured out a way to go around that by using the upswing one.

CUrrently playing on two sites in which I hope to not deposit so kind of treating this like a bankroll challenge.

Bodog started with 300$ and playing NL25
2nd site is a province regulated site call PlayNow starting with around 1k on this site but only playing 30nl until i get it to 2k.

Tonight is my 7th WSOP league night, will be filming for 2nd vlog lets get it!

Had a super busy week with work so haven't had a chance to update since WSOP league. It was an insane rollarcoaster and i think i'm going to leave the results for my 2nd VLOG that I'm working on putting together today/tomorrow. Won't be much better in terms of editing / quality then my first one but I am looking to hire an editor to fine tune the results from it.

Worked some overtime yesterday which can't complain about as the money it quite lucrative, woke up early this morning to hit the live tables as I had zero hours towards my live goal this year so far... a lot of time to make up. (not counting my league hours as live play as can't really win money) Ended up cashing out +190$ ... I had ran up +800 in the first hour there, maybe one of those spots that it can't really get much better than this but with the hours goal in place decided to grind it out as game was fairly decent.

This interesting hand occured against a younger loose aggressive regular.

I have KJcc in MP and make it 15$ he flat calls next to act in LowJack and has been calling pretty much every raise i make as i'm the biggest stack at this point (playing about 650 effective), button also calls

Flop comes
Ks 4s 3s
I elect to cbet 1/3 pot $15 and he raises to 40$ button folds and I call.

At this point I think he has a TON of As x and maybe some other weaker K's, he has called me in this spot with Arag off a couple times already.

Turn is 3x
i x he bets 65$ i call.

river comes 2x
at this point it feels like the best river really as flush doesn't get there unless it was flopped

i x and he bets 300$ after a small tank, this was a slight overbet.

I thought for a long time not sure what to do - this i had reached river before against him on this kind of line twice before, first time board was similar but he checked river and my top pair 2nd kicker was good. 2nd time he had bet half pot and i folded, not sure if that plays much into it at all.

...............

Will post result next couple days in case anyones reading.

Plan to drive down to Washington State next weekend to play during the series that is going on in Tulalip which will likely be episode 3 of my VLOG.

Finished putting together episode 2 of the vlog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TgDgcwkv-U&t=6s

Had my two week weigh in for my weightloss goal as well and so far were down 5 lbs which is a very good start quite motivated to keep this one going, 2019 going to be a killer year on all fronts.

Played some hands yesterday while watching the football games, I do continue to have a couple leaks that consistently show up that if i were to clean up would significantly increase my winrrate and atime it would take to reach my 10k goal for online.

This is one vs a 50/0 fish should be a golden rule to never bluff these guys.

Overall was a winning day online that could have been a lot bigger if not for that first hand, and i think i can find a fold on the turn in the 2nd hand.

Going to be playing more tonight and hopefully post an update on my overall goals for the month.

Just going to put a quick update on some of my goals

@ 6 / 40 hours live - going down to tulalip this weekend which should increase this a lot
@ 4080 / 20,000 online hands - this one i may be falling short on the month especially with losing this upcoming weekend, missed some big opportunities to put in extra volume.

Create some VLOGs - currently made 2 this month with plans for a 3rd
Streaming - none yet, hopefully at least 1 by end of month.

Feels good to update this and see where im at, clearly less then 25% on both goals with over 50% of month gone really gotta get going on this a little harder.

Just doing a quick check-in before I put together my 3rd VLOG for the youtube channel.

Returned from Tulalip late on Sunday, we crossed back from the border and caught wind that the Pats v Chiefs game was in its final two minutes so pulled into the first bar we could find to watch the epic ending.

Overall the trip to Washington state was a success, we came back with a slight profit after getting eliminated from the 100K tournament in epic fashion when our AA got cracked twice within 6 hands at level 8. We had got our chip stack up bigger than 2x avg stack when it went down. I hadn't felt that steamed from a tournament elimination and I most definitely had to do with how well i had been playing. I was on top of my game.

After elimination I jumped into cash games the rest of the weekend and those went well, even got to play some Omaha Hi/Lo for the first time and proud to say I even came out a winner in that game.

Put in over 20 hours of live in the two days and I have a chance to my live goals at the very least, pretty much impossible to hit my online goal at this rate.

Will post some more hands in here in the next few posts, keep an eye out for VLOG 3 to see more details about the tulalip trip.

Had a rough sessions this morning playing on our provincial site, just always getting raised in spots where i can never be good, and having my hands being 2nd best whenever we get to showdown. I must have value-owned myself at least 2-3 times. Makes me think that I need to start checking more often a little bit but its such a small sample size we are going to wait it out.

With one week left in the first month of 2019, i'm going to reflect on some of my goals and progress that i have been making so far.

Online:

This has not gone nearly as well as I had hoped, some of it may be mental when it comes to volume but the majority of it can just be blamed on not taking advantage of the time that I do have to play.
As of right now we are at -58.80 / 5603 hands which is a far reach from where I had hoped to be at $20,000. I have been struggling online and dates back to last year been down swinging. I don't really have anyone to blame but myself, and I think that this is one that can be turned around by just putting in more hands.

Live:
Counting all forms of live poker (except my league) where I buy-in for money and use my time to play.

Holdem Cash games:
20 hours +$899
Holdem Tournaments
6 hours -$420
Omaha Hi/lo cash game:
4 hours +$221

Total: 30 hours +$700
I am on track to meet my goal of 40 hours especially when i play tomorrow. I didn't set a win rate because after all 40 hours isn't anything to crazy and I didn't want the added pressure of that.

Tomorrow looking to head down to Parq Vancouver and play the $500 main event for the month and probably dabble in some cash games as well.

Lastly VLOG #3 is uploaded to my youtube channel

Thanks for the support much appreciated!

--------------------------------------------------

Its early today and I couldn't sleep before i headed off to the good ole day job. Thought i'd put the pot of coffee on and put together a quick update.

I did some filming of the tournament that i played on Sunday down at Parq Vancouver, and it really was the day of Granny Panties. Granny Panties is the named that we have given one of the worst hands in poker (AQ) and its starting to catch on. We being me and my older friend from the coast. I went 1-5 with AQ on this day including my bust out hand when i lost to A9 AIPF, hitting a Q hi flop vs KK and losing to AJ in another somewhat big pot early on.

I was able to hold onto the short start for quite some time, even though i never got anything going this tournament I was very proud of my play and i ended up busting out in 22nd out of 62 players. Top 8 were the money so still had a ways to go. My friend was even more unlucky and busted out in 9th on the final table when his set of 10's lost to AA that runner runner'd broadway.

On Sunday I played, 1 hour PLO cash +315 2.5 hrs NLHE cash -200 and then 5 hours of the tournament in which i sold some action for -$365. Were about to reach our hourly goal and if the League counted would already be over it.

Spent most of Monday setting up my stream so that I can get it going sometime this week with my first stream. I figured out that I pretty much want a 3rd monitor for my set up. The GF didn't like that to much as she keeps hinting that its time for me to propose been living together 3 years.. she doesn't like when I spend the money on these things and not a ring haha....

Today is week 8 of the WSOP poker league and pretty much the midway point of the season (15 weeks) with a slight lead my focus is going to be on playing well and seeing if I can outlast 2nd and 3rd place.

Might put together a Grannie Panties Vlog or the league for my next episode so stay tuned.

Cheers,
Babs

January has come to an end so time to post some of the results of my goals:

Play 40 hours of Live poker (excluding the league)
Only played 38.5 hours, last day of the month I had a chance to meet this goal but really wasn't feeling well and moved my session to Feb 1st instead but still pretty happy that I came close to this one and will push to get it again in FEB.

Play 20k hands of online
Came up way short on this one, and this is likely a really tough one to meet while working full-time and still coming close to the live hour goals which are more important to me due to the higher hourly. This month we have 3 less days and I'm going to be more realistic and shoot for 12k hands in FEB. January I clocked in at 5,861 hands and actually lost around $10

Create some VLOGs
I managed to put together 3 vlogs this month, and have footage for a few more ready to come out early FEB

Start Streaming:
Haven't had a full stream yet but I have put together the OBS stuff and am ready to go starting this week my goal for this month is to set up a sch where i can stream twice a week for a couple of hours. Right now I'm thinking of of the days will be Saturday (morning) and the other Thursday evening.

Weight Loss:
The goal for the year is to lose 45 lbs and I'm off to a great start. January i was able to lose 8 lbs so I'm on the right track for this one.

Poker Results:
Live Cash: +$1001
Tourneys: -$765
Online: -$15.06
Total: +220.94

Although this isn't anything insane for a start I'm very excited about the results, and I only expect them to improve as I reinforce the habits I've built and continue to stay disciplined in my 2019 goals.

Off to a good start so far in FEB have played two 3 hour sessions (I know not much but with super bowl weekend tried to get some in)

1st session +501
2nd session +110

Played an interesting hand yesterday in which I put myself in a weird spot.

folds to CO who is a tighter asian man, when the BTN limps out of turn. CO sees this and raises to $35 which is essentially 11x. CO wants to take money back but when he can't he ends up calling. BTN is a younger guy.

Effective
CO has 150$
BTN - 280$

I look down at A10ss in the BB, my thinking here is that due to CO sizing he must have a hand like JJ-KK as he is trying to charge the overs especially an A for showing up. I think I have the odds with this hand to try and bink an A as i feel i'm far ahead of BTN and call.

Flop comes

Ac Qc Jx i x, CO x and btn bets 50$

At this point my thinking is CO either has KK or sets, but I think he is shoving most sets so I'm leaning towards KK, I think i must be far ahead of BTN so flat and CO folds

Turn comes 9x, i pick up an OESD
i x and btn bets again 50$ which is essentially 1/4 pot, at this point i think he's folding all hands i would beat but might be Ax if i tank call long enough and maybe he will bluff non-club rivers.

River 6x and I think thats good for me and expect a x back almost everytime but he goes all-in for 130$.

Looking back I could have played this hand a lot easier by just raising the flop, because essentially the CO only has 1 SPR and even if he had a set I have outs. I likely would have taken it down there but unsure if i wanted to get A rag to fold out.

Hey, just watched a couple of your vlogs. I like the wsop league you're in, wish I had something like that to do here in the kootenays.

Wish I heard about that tulalip series, might have made it down for the main.

Anyways, gl shipping that main seat. I got a good feeling you're going to win it

The AJ hand is definitely a fold OTT, especially given villain is usually passive and you have a player to act behind..

You are most definitely right sir!

First stream went pretty well tonight, and Run it Once was a lot of fun to check out. Took a call to my bank in order to deposit, guess those Canadian fraud auto-checks working as intended.

Not much limping at all if any at RIO so seems a bit reg heavy at this point but that is to be expected especially since its going to be the poker players that first know about the site. But it was a lot of fun to play on got in some epic battles with some people as well as did some complete punts in some of the splash pots.

I was down almost 4 BI's at one point but battled back to have a slightly winning session so very happy about that. Will have to check in tomorrow and see if HEM can take the hands I played and maybe i'll post them if they can.

Going to be doing finishing touches to the VLOG tomorrow and aiming to have a Friday release, will play some more live at some point in the near future as well. Must keep on grinding!

Been playing all my online hands lately on ROI, and we are 7 hours of streaming in now.

One thing i've noticed is that my game doesn't work on this site compared to the other ones. Players in general are much better (as to be expected) than on my provincial site.

Players are much more aggressive and will end up 3betting with all sorts of junk and nutted hands. Also am not able to track my hands played while playing on there so that part sticks too.

Plan on going to casino tomorrow hopefully get some hands in for Vlog #5

Streaming: were at 36/200 hours viewed after streaming 6.5 hours not bad!

live: 6/40 - way off here and only able to put in 1 session this week but better make that one count.

weight loss - +1lb, had a big cheat meal the night before weigh in so not hurt to bad by this continue to grind.

Poker League week 9 is tonight, lets hope I can increase my lead on the field as it's a lot tighter then it should be for someone that won the first 3 weeks.

WSOP week 8 didn't go at all how I wanted, we didn't really play any big pots just slowly blinded down before shipping 7 bigs with Q10 and getting snapped by the than 3rd place with KK and being sent packing in 7th place.

I ended up playing 3 handed cash with the other two that were out for a couple hours. Then 4 and then ending at 2am playing 5 handed. Long night with an early wakeup call but we couldn't leave and ended up cashing out +750 in the cash game.

About to go live on twitch.tv/babs_poker for a 3 hour stream on ROI to try and keep to my schedule.

Boy am I tired today

Doing this mid-month update a little later than I had planned, but been quite busy. Today is Family Day here in British Columbia so I am off from the Day time Grind and about to head out to Villa for some Cash game action.

Need to start putting in a few more live hours as we are only at 10 hours played for cash games. So far in the 10 hours the results are quite good as we are up $1,367 which makes it 130$/hr. We know this is not sustainable at the level we play but still feels great.

Our online goal we are not able to track as we have been strictly playing on Run it Once and they do not have the capabilities yet to transfer out hands into our Holdem Manager Database, but once we do we can go back to this goal. We have streamed over 14 hours on ROI and played a few more hours off stream. While we can't be 100% sure of our volume I like to think that we were on pace to meet ours.

Weigh in was yesterday and we came in down 10lbs since we started so that part is a great start so far.

My next video on youtube is going to be a small ROI review inclusive of some hands that we played on stream, I also need to start thinking about VLOG 5, which will include the last WSOP league but not much footage as it was a pretty lame one for us. Maybe get some Villa Cash game hands in there to but we shall see how it comes together.

Had an amazing time at the casino Monday and won $550 in about 4 hours of play, pick up a couple hands here and there and stacked on guy who tried to slow play JJ when i flopped 6 6 8 with Q6 in the BB.

Been very busy on the life grind and continuing to work on my latest video that isn't QUITE ready yet as i had hoped. Making a video on a review of Run it Once so far as well as a top 5 reasons why i love the site. Since I am streaming most of tonight I will probably finish that video tomorrow and get it released Friday. Still have to put together a video of the latest WSOP league as well to go to the channel so lots to get caught up on this weekend.

Streaming on Babs_poker in about 30 mins and hoping to run up our bankroll as much as possible. The past 2 streams have been quite a success which was opposite of how it started.

Also started a weight loss prop bet with someone in my league, where i have to lose 25 lbs to his 20. First one to accomplish this wins 100$ and the loser also has a humiliation challenge that involves playing a session wearing granny panties on their head. Really focused in on these goals and will keep on grinding and keep on crushing.

As the weekend comes to a close, I'm sitting here 1 tabling on Run it Once while I reflect on the month that is now 4 days away from coming to and end.

The biggest thing that is coming to my mind right now is that I am definitely going to be coming up very short in my live hours that I wanted to play. Currently only at 14 / 40 hours so very short, however looking at the month as a whole 40 was definitely on the ambitious side as I was launching my streaming this month which take up at least 7 hours a week right now.

The stream has been quite a success and I am very happy with Run it Once as a site to play on right now. After the initial adjustment period things are starting to come together and I'm really loving the feel of the game, as I've outlined in my most recent Youtube video. After losing 10 buyins in the early days of the site I'm on a 25 buy-in upswing.

WSOP league is this week and I need to go in with a strong will to take down a top 3 finish. I can't be afraid to gamble in +ev spots as I am in 2nd but there are still 6 weeks left.

The weight loss bet has gotten off to a pretty good start as were down some weight in the first 5 days, without to much hardcore exerciser and really just going hard on the diet itself. I think this bet could be concluded in as little as 5-6 weeks depending on how hard either of us go. I'm trying to treat this as if he is going hard so I think there is some space for me to kick it up a notch with some cardio.

We are crushing this year so far and hope to keep things going, at this point by the end of FEB we could be having a better year than all of 2018 combined, 2018 was a low volume year and I didn't put in much of any effort at all hense why we started this thread up but its good to see that results are following the hard work that were putting it, it makes it a lot easier to keep on trekking.

This post is a bit late but its time to wrap up my February and take a quick review on how it went and what I hope to accomplish for March. I've been sick for the past couple of days hense the delay, and were off to a rough start Online at least for March.

First February Results; i realize i didn't set and February specific goals but I am going to update on my stuff.

Poker Results:
Live: $1,914 - only 14 hours played.
Online: $476.64 - mostly on ROI so couldn't count the hands played.
Tourney: 0 - didn't play any tournaments.

Even though my results were very good and I'm very happy with them, I can't help but be disappointed with the hours i've put in live. Live is by far my most profitable part of my poker journey, my schedule just didn't work out that I was able to put in more hours, this has got to be more of a focus going forth.

I started playing NL50 on ROI this saturday and that was a pretty big mistake, as I was quite sick but I was determined to take a shot on my bankroll challenge, it didn't go so well and I lost 7 BI's and was forced to dropback down in stakes. Looking back I should have waited until I was of better health and mind to take that shot, but we will be back there in no time.

Streaming:
I kicked off my streaming and it has gone quite well so far, it helped that Run It Once started their 'Streamr' program at the same time that I planned to start streaming so it has given me a reason to play on their site even more.
My current schedule is
Weds 5pm-8pm PST
Sat 9am-1pm PST

Hoping that this month i'll be able to reach the 200 viewer hours however my Saturday stream was cut short yesterday due to my sickness so off to a poor start. My goals this month are to get the viewed hours up so that I can get rakeback on runitonce.eu and to get my streamlabs fully up and running so that I can get follower notifications etc and make my stream a little more sharp.

Vlogs:
I think i only came out with two videos this past month, I've been very slow at getting my most recent VLOG out and had planned to have it come out a couple days ago but again the sickness has delayed things. One thing I've accomplished this month in this space was I have found a good friend of mine who is a graphic designer to help me put together thumbnails for my videos which will make them look nicer. Should be able to get my next VLOG out by Monday night, as WSOP league is Tuesday.

Weight Loss:

This one continues to be one that I am quite proud of so far this year. I have stayed focus and with the weight loss prop bet that I undertook two weeks ago I have taken it to the next level. It is a race against time so I can't make excuses to break my diet for one day or else I risk having to wear the Granny Panties on my head! Our first weigh in is two days away so I'll wait until then to give an update on how it is going. Were both kind of acting in the dark unsure how the other one is doing for results

March Goals:
Poker Results - make $900 playing poker
Stream - Make 200 hours viewed
Vlog: Come out with at least 3 more vlogs for the month
Weight Loss: Continue to diet well and exercise, maybe potentially win the bet by months end.
