Hello,

Quick little bit about myself... Used to play a lot of online poker, black Friday, blah blah blah... Still hopeful to get my full tilt money back soon! Have a full time job and and a lady who consume most of my of time these days. Try to play live once a week at 1/2NL with some donking around on Bovada low stakes. I have not maintained a working bankroll in quite a long time which I feel has has been a detriment to my game.

Challenge: Turn $1,000 into a $10,000 working bankroll.

Live $1/2 is mostly a joke as the players are just awful in my area. I have noticed in my local casinos they have been getting some much bigger games going lately, of which I would like to start playing.

I feel my biggest issue will be getting in time at the tables. I would like to put 15 hours a week in on the felt. I hope to play 2-3 times a week live.

I will start out playing live $1/2 NL. Once I hit $2,000 I will move $500 online to Bovada and purchase one BitCoin for ACR. Plan to grind .10/.25 → .5/1 on Bovada and SSMTT's on ACR when I can't get to the casino. I will be fairly aggressive with my bankroll management (online).

I will keep track of results here and hopefully get to discuss some good strategy and hands. I will try to take some detailed notes on hands at the tables and review here.

Wish me luck!

Had my first session the other day
4/3 – 3.7 hours +$176. Nothing major of note, just some solid play. Lots of “fun” players on the weekend. Got to iso rase a lot of limpers which seems to be a big part of winning money in these games. Just outplaying and outagroing people in position.

There was some big PLO game running which I was wishing I could get into... when I hit 10K I will for sure be taking some shots at that!

Session 2

3.4 hours +$69

Room was somewhat busy, about 4 tables going. Not much really happened, just grinded out a small win.

Only hand of note:
I raise AcTd in LP to $10; CO calls btn calls BB calls
Flop: A74dd,
I cbet $20 (into $40), only btn calls. Villain is an asian dude, never seem him before. Briefly spoke and seemed like he knows a little bit.
Turn: 8d, I c/c $25
River: 4c
I c, villian bets $55, hero?

I chkd the turn so he could fire w/ all his floats, now that he bets the river...?

session3

6 hours +$523

Really enjoy the weekend sessions, room is really busy with lots of action. Lots of weak regulars and lots of unknowns come out. Lots of rec players just looking to gamboool.

Session started out good at the feeder table. Won a big pot where I flopped a set and got to b/3b some guy who minraised my cbet. One thing im going to try to start doing is not showing my hand first unless required to do so. In the above hand villain shipped on my turn bet and I snap called, after which I told him I have set, and he replied, you're good, so I flipped my hand and he mucked. I knew my hand was good before I said anything but I really should have made him show his hand first.

I requested a table change shortly after the above as the table was full of old nit regs who while are not very good, just click the call button too much. With all the action in the room I wanted to play some big pots.

New table had lots of action; took a seat of the right of a weekend reg. He's somewhat hard to describe but hes extremely loose pf and will chase till the river. He also greatly overvalues TP hands and will get way out of line with them. I guess hes somewhat LAG, but not the good kind. Quite a few hands vs him I played as later in the night I seat changed to have position on him.

Anyways, I took some notes on my phone about a bunch of hands; I will post just a few to keep this somewhat short.

Hand 1
A9o in BB, 4 limps and I just check my option
A64r – chks around
7x – I lead $10 and nitty old man from UTG calls as does some loose donk.
6x ($30) – I lead $20 and NOM makes it $50, other guys folds and hero?

I have to call $30 to win about $100. No flushes on board but would this nitty old man ever raise here with worse? Don't have enough history here and I make a cry call.

Hand 2
1 limp, Aggressive kid opens hijack to 7 as he has been doing quite a bit, I flat the SB w/ A9ss, limper comes along too.
A94xxx flop -chks to kid and he cbers $13, I just call as does limper
7x – I lead $25 and all fold

I led because I felt the agro kid just had air and it would get checked around way too often. Wanted to get any value from the EP limper and maybe get the kid to make a curious call or raise.

Thoughts on the check/call – donk lead line? Its one I rarely take with any hand

Hand 3
This is vs the bad LAG on my left. He straddles my BB; agro kid from above limps the CO and I complete with QQ expecting the bad lag to pop it. He obliges and makes it $15, kid calls, and I pop it to $50. Lag insta calls (he has about $120) and kid makes some silly comment and folds.

Flop A78hh – I check; guy snap ships about $70 and I call. I felt like I was commited after pf action given stack sizes and his image (he called off almost 50% of his stack already) so I figure mine as well give him the opportunity to bluff off. The straddle definitely changes the dynamic of game in my opinion.

Hand 4
Again, vs same bad lag above. Also just a note but my image should be tight/solid/winning younger guy.

I open Ajo to $12 after some limps, bad lag on left calls and 1 limper as well.

Flop J74dd - I cbet $16 and bad lag makes it $56. He is much deeper now after playing some silly pots and binking. We're about 150 BB effective and he now covers me. I just call

Turn 4x ($148) – I chk and he bets $75; thought about jamming here but I decide to just call and let him continue with his likely worse hand – Thoughts?

River Kd- I chk again, and he chks back showing Kjo weeeee

Hand 5

UTG (fairly straight forward ABC guy) opens to $7, one call, then I 3b to $25, btn flats, UTG & other guy both call (action has picked up a lot now that its later)

Flop Q8Tdd ($100)– UTG donks out $30 into everyone (we are about 220 BB's effective at this point) I decide to just call. All others fold.

I would generally like to stick in a substantial raise here, but I have position and a strong draw, his bet size is so small and I'm putting him on a strong range here. If I raise any standard amount I almost commit myself to the pot Thoughts?

Turn 2s ($160)– UTG continues and bets $40; again, super small size compared to pot size. I consider shipping again, but decide to just call again.

River Jc ($240) – UTG fires again super small $50; I could just raise small but decide to just ship the nuts in his face here. He hems and haws but folds rather quickly.

Hand 6
bad lag from above hands straddles; I have now moved to his left to have position on him.

I open KK in EP to $12; 2 calls and straddler calls

Flop 225r ($36) - bad lag donks $30; we are about 250BB's effective. I consider raising but just flat, I know I have the best hand here and again want him to just keep bluffing

Turn Ax ($96) – bad lag fires $50, obv bad card for me but considering who im against I just flat again.

River 8x ($196) – now he chks, and I just have too much showdown value so I decide to chk

Thoughts on flop/turn?

Bankroll: $1,768

1.9 hours +$651

Game started off great, but really I was just running HOT. Did something I generally don't like to do and decided to leave after a short session. The donks were busting and table was starting to nit up so really the game turned mediocre so I decided to take my win and leave.

3.2hours -$490
Room was busy as there is a weekly tourney tonight.
Within the first 10 minutes I pick up KK and open in EP. Some shortstack ships his last $16 in the pot and it gets to the BB. He makes some silly comment like “I'll protect you, im isolating” and shoves his $200 in the middle. I snap him off and ask if he has aces, he nods yes.

Board runs out Qs Js 5x 4x Ks and im like woohoo, as he flips over.... As7s and scoops the pot

This hand actually put me a little on tilt and I decided to take a walk and grab some food. After eating I came back and just grinded my stack down. Re-buy $100 couple times to keep my stack afloat. Just not picking up many playable hands.

Felt unfocused and unmotivated this session. Need to work on my emotional control.

Bankroll: $1,929
