Feels like it's been days since I've last really got action.

I bet 1/2 pot for $300, get called in two spots. Understandable since first guy has two blockers, and the other guy figured 2nd guy who calls cant have nuts obviously (though small %) and his 2nd nut str8 will chop.

Wow scooping two boards with my hand vs his is impressive. A little luck goes a long way.

First time playing against this new villain, but was watching from the outside and he just seemed to be far too crazy (as typing this he literally just quit the game, so guess it's time for me to sleep). And as of on queue, SWEAR ON MY LIFE, my entire table just sat out / broke instantly within 15 seconds of typing. Myself included. Jesus guys have a few orbits so the guy just doesn't see that.

I checked turn, he checks back, which is very strange... Anyways I figured he cant have AJxx combos anymore so I went for all of it on the river.

This hand was interesting as I donk lead flop multiway into a few opponents, he raises me and I call. Turn I donk pot. Keep in mind I have 6 cards. When he raises me flop, he's saying either 22, 42, or 4Axxx (or in between these). When I donk lead turn, it's over for him. Unless he thinks I"m just using card advantage and just blasting into a "3" with 4AKQJT type hand, possible. But if that's the case, why did I bet 1/4 river. That's either value or block bet. However why would 4Axxxx block bet. It's pretty much never winning because this guy isn't raising me on the flop with 45678 type hand (or shouldnt). Anyways it's a long shot I"m blocking with a worse hand than 22 here. Free money when he calls river.

---

Also trying the new sites with 3rd world country (all I can say). It's a real REAL hassle. Like I can only load $400-500 at a time (but repeatable as many times as I want), but in order to do so, I have to sit out, exit and everything. The fish would've assumed I quit and pick up after me. Which is exactly what happened. Pretty tilting to do just for some 2/4 PLO pretty much. But I'm running out of games, so what can I do.

Morning session, down $180 in the game, won back about $250-350 in rb.

It's already begun RNG starting hand 6 card Hi Lo 2 boards. Anything goes out here.

Also the easiest way to make money. As long as you have an inherent understanding of the game, you'll have an edge over new players/fishes who start learning this game for the first time.

Challenge Update:

Previous update had us leger at around $43,000 profit + $55,000 in rake paid for about 2 months. Our current past two or three weeks has netted us shy around $15,000 profit. The rakeback numbers is much harder to estimate now since I don't have a HuD/PT4 graph for the web browser site of PLO7.

So we have about $58k profit and $30k+ in the form of rake back ($60k rake paid) if I had to estimate for the third month. One week to go to close it out. $15k for the last 2-3 weeks is def solid, but won't get us to the $500k/yr goal.

Other Misc

Trying these other asian/apps/third world countries is a serious pain in the ASSS. I'm already reaching out to other poker pros/investors and trying to get connected to various games but coming up shy. I mean good games, not crappy public unions cash game and the likes (their MTTs are great though). I have been invited to home games with recs/whales that I can confirm, but with the idea of covid + being cheated (idk which is worse) I find it nearly impossible to go.

Today:

Was open sitting 25/50, finally a guy sits me. Got him for around $3.5k and like $100 in rb in maybe 30-45 mins? Forgot to SS the hands because I literally woke up from my sleep when I was notified some1 sat.

An early morning session, not as planned. Typically like this.

Accidentally made it in BB, but 25/50. Ended the session down $11K. Gonna grab breakfast, reset mind and hopefully good tables to get near even by tonight (all I could really ask for). If bad tables, Maplestory and Hearthstone day I suppose.

I didn't realize it's been almost a week (5-6 days) since I last played. Really thought it was 4. Been spending time with the gf, and when I'm not, full grinding maplestory mobile. The game has a serious pay wall where even a thousand dollars wont get you end game content, so I'm like literally full-time job playing numerous accounts. Or I could just play poker and buy the gear, but that defeats the purpose of the "journey" in a way.

Anyways played like 30 minutes today, this hand was the bulk of my winnings. Won about $1400 with $100 in rb. I sense I'll be lacking volume for the coming days, my gf recently got job promoted in a way and will be making like $Xm in 3-4 years from bonuses/equity alone. So massive celebrations for this coming weekend. But as I typed this, I forgot the potential of turning it down to not wanting a living relocation (which is pretty weird considering we're in the middle of covid and is work-from-home and why company X wants us to relocate within a short time frame).

Got in a small few hour session, ran pretty poorly, playing mostly 3-4 max. Got HU against both action players for a little bit, but both would quit me within 15-20 hands of HU. Used to it on this platform.

Down $5.2K, without adding the $500 in rb coming my way. Not a good way to start a Halloween weekend of celebration =X

Also forgot to include, played another session after yesterdays win of $1400, won about another $2.3K iirc about where my ledger/numbers are at.

This month is closing out, and I wonder if I even made $10K+ tbh. Cant remember my numbers, will add them up sometime soon.

Woke up a bit too early this morning, so started putting in a session for the past few hours and it hasn't been too kind. Saw a whale open sitting 6max by himself, tried to get it HU, but quickly it got filled, with 3 more whales! I was livid. But from there on, I pretty much got crushed in about 4 major pots, some multiway so worth over $5-7K each pot.

My screenshot got messed up so bear with it. Here's two of the most recent hands.

Hopefully it doesnt get worse from here, trying to actually enjoy my halloween celebration later tonight.

Stuck like $5-6K. Forgot my starting balance.

Nothing too interesting happened today at the tables, pretty smooth sailing at 5/10, none of the bigger games ran so I was mostly just watching youtube and 1 tabling. Right before the table broke and everyone left, I was up around $2.5k.

Got HU, the guy scooped a 2k pot pretty quickly and then sat out. I immediately asked for "no chance of winning it back?" He said fine, only for 15-20 more mins though. And proceeds to stomp me in every pot for another $2k or so lol.

This is a player who willingly chooses to get involved in 3bet pots with 5c A9953ss vs 2 opponents each with 6 cards. Kinda tilting to lose like this. Seems like since the -$10k day earlier last week or so, I haven't been able to turn it around.

With my plans of relocation into SoCal and buying a new house, gotta be building that income sooooon

Played a quick session 1-2 days ago (my volume has been lacking as I've been building my stable/coaching). Previous session up $1.9k after being stuck like $3K for the day. So definitely needed that ego/mind booster since I've been losing for these past two weeks. Currently watching the tables, but only the lower games are running so rather play video games etc.

There is however a HU going (unknown on the left, vs pro on the right) and I think I'll be taking my shots at the unknown from now on. New fun player discovered.

Not my hand

Fun player went X/C. X/C. X/C the 85% pot (which is his all-in) with AQ while blocking key cards of 8886 lol.

Anyways feeling good for the future currently.

Also my recent lead for blackjack went like this. Generally too good to be true when someone who works in a casino tells you, "you can card count all you want, no one will care, as long as you tip" ----> when I pushed further and asked about more details, emphasizing my bet structure and winrate etc over the course of 2-3 weeks, it became "you can do what you want, the employees are too dumb to notice". That's not a very reassuring - yes you can card count. And this casino has had scandals in the past.

I'll tip $100/hour as long as I'm winning and allowed to play like a $300/hour EV game. Pretty sure that won't fly with management.

I got really really lucky. Basically won 2/3rd when my hand is like 15% equity against those two specific hands lol. Scooping top sidepot and then full scoop bottom with quads.

I guess this is one way to break the downswing spree lately. Up $5k for the day with like $300-400 rb.

My volume has continued to lack, I've been playing like here and there, and only sitting in the best of games. Today there was a table, with 2 whales, 2 pros and I figured I didn't want to sit and instead spent the day playing video games. I have a tendency that once I slack or fall behind, I really continue to do so (much like my academia).

Had some swings.

Kinda committed myself pre with the squeeze and just trying to chop 1 board. Failed to do so, whoopsies.

Villain tried to get the X/R in after I was PFR. I checked back. Turn I bet 1/3rd he calls. River I bet 2/3rd he calls.

There's other hands but been really lazy towards poker. Up about $9K for the week (this includes previous posts since 6 days ago approx)

I did not realize it's been a week since my last update, I've been REALLY REALLY slacking. Just catching up on old shows like Parasite, AoT, Promised Neverland (rewatching all of them - as my gf is getting into such).

I think I played only 2 sessions this last week, and won a total of $1210.18 with even less rakeback.

Basically where the winnings came from at 5/10 that I played cus I felt guilty about my volume as of late. I open pot, he 3bet me, I defend. Flop he checks, I bet like $220 and he X/R to like $800, stacks get in after. Lol at his hand.

Didn't take any SS but shortly after posting yesterday at 5am, I fired up a session for an hour or so (kinda motivated because I'm currently learning chess and found a $10k chess match).

Won a sweet $2.8k after scooping with like TT9875 triple suited vs AAxxxx vs AKKxxx, I called off pre expecting to see AA/AA pretty much at 5/10.

I'll do a summary update of profit for the months leading to this moment at a later date.

Hopefully we can keep this momentum going, a little volume is better than anything these past two weeks.

Played about 2 hours or so, idk however long it took to do 155 hands. Dream table, 4 whales, 1 pro at one point.

Whale is up like $10k, but just self-blocking himself in everyway and defending vs 6c with 5c. Flop went check check.

Anyways finishing up the session about $800 with $400-500 in rb. Pretty good two hours. I was upstuck though, peaked around $4k profit at one point. But was also stuck in the red twice.

Trying to keep the volume up, woke at 4am and playing a new PLO variant, 7 freaking cards... you guys were right last month. 7 and 8 and 9 cards next.

Getting a feel for it at 5/10 and will consider moving up if the player pool remains soft in it. Currently down about $400 after being stuck like 2.5k. I have double suited aces every other obit. So my stack gettting it innnn.

Btw look at the middle guy lmao. He donk jammed flop against 14 cards with his hand. Literally free money

Oh sorry phrased it poorly. Meant I found out about a $10k chess match which really hyped me to get back on the grind. But then since my last post, I havent played any poker.

I also dont have any clue, first time playing 7c seriously... Anyways gonna aim for a 60 hour week starting Tuesday.

Okay not quite the huge amount of hours, but logged about 4 hours just now. Sadly stuck about $8k though. Just ran poorly, and spewed a spot or two.

I did however just got connected the equivalent of Sam Trickett private game. I don't want to say who, but scouting it right now, you have a mix of super pros (like $10M mtt winners and probably a handful of whales). There's gonna be some financial planning ahead for me to play this... an unknown mid stake grinder taking a shot so to speak.

Not exactly lucky to not even chop. 4 SPR FLOP GET IT IN...

Fun fact, one guy from 2+2 is literally winning the inverse of what I'm losing for the week. Yet he's playing 2.5/5 lol.

Update:

My gf said don't watch TV till you at least break even, I started another session.

Like if my 7c AA is anymore slightly connected, his hand is totally dead pre (his FDs cant be live very often) if we're getting it in pre...

Anyways stuck $12k for the day now. Ughhh

I wonder what TwitchAshuraPoker and RektByPanda are up to? Last on his twitch, he was streaming minecraft and not poker. Same for panda. Guess that 19 year old wizard is chilling with all the other live pros winning racks and racks at that 25/50 Tampa casino game.

What are your overall results since the start of this thread?

I can't imagine there's much to be had playing 7 card plo with two board runouts every pot. Variance must be insane

Sorry for late response, haven't been grinding much lately. I tend to go AFK for random sprees of time after losing a decent amount of money (though in relations to the blinds, it's not much - grew up low income so I know the value of a dollar).

I don't think I'm playing even decently or near GTO (idk what that even means for 7c tbh) but if someones willing to jam like 2345678 lowsuit pre, the game is pretty simple from there. Esp with the way stack sizes are. Play strong suited high domination hands with 1-1.5 SPR flop.

Regarding variance, idk what to say about it. There's a guy who's either cheating, or running like god. Guy is up like $5-10K a day for a few days straight playing 2.5/5 blinds. Like what. I actually wont sit him, just in case. Now I'm aware if this fear is even real, then I got way bigger problems than just 1 guy. And shouldn't be playing at all on the site. It's not a legitimate fear, but really to avoid an ABC player who's running pure. Way harder for them to make a mistake when up.

Today's session

Like people choosing to jam in some really shitty 6c pre hands. For no reason at all.

SPR is less than 1/2. My hand is actually pretty bad and could be like drawing to 10% if he has spades + X combinations, but I found a hand I'm ACTUALLY AHEAD of. And still lose both boards. Idk how he didnt fold. Why cant I just at least chop this one.

The downswing continues, ending the morning session around $4k stuck. I feel extra pressure from the gf, now that we're closing in on buying our/my first home together. Being a solo poker player vs someone in a family, first time feeling the add-on stress tbh. Idk how much I'm down this month zzzzzz. Feels like $30-40K. Idk. I'll add it up another time.

Poker Challenge Cancelled - I surrender

(Lost another $10K yesterday)

Losing the previous private game was a disastrous blow to the challenge. I really needed that club to last a few more months to have a reasonable shot at this goal.

In the last three months, I have an estimated $15,300 in winnings while paying over $70,000 in rake (give or take). Let's assume 50% rb for my action. That's around $50k profit. Sadly we won't even make it to $250k/year at this rate, so I'm giving up now.

I was around $70-80K below EV on PT4 tracked for PLO4. Then add in PLO5 against same pool which is untracked, I'm prob edging close to $80-90K below EV. I don't think I was crushing the PLO4567 game, but I certainly shouldn't be losing. According to that poker variance calculator online, my run-bad was still like 6% possible. So yeah.

What Now Off Thread

I'll be grinding mostly $2.5/5 and 5/10 PLO4567 till the end of the year and see my mindset and how I'm running in general. Maybe I can come with a new challenge in early 2021.

$2.5/5 PLO, 3 way pot, I was PFR 3better. I cbet flop into 14 cards for 25bb into a 50bb pot. And guy on top jams over me. I couldn't snap faster. He shows up with that lol. Feels nice to end my last post with a $850 profit and like $25 rb haha/sigh.
