Decided on $160 $8k gtd. Good turnout.

Called all in on flop with AK on AT6 rainbow early on vs 90 year old.

Obviously he had TTT.

So mad at myself that I just left. No waiting for cash game. Deposited $200 on ACR. Going to run these 3 handed jackpot Hyper Turbos during the week.

Taking a 2 hour run to Columbus tomorrow.
I saw on Bravo that they have 1/2 with $400 max buyin.

Update tomorrow.

Loss for the week.

1 session of 1/2 PLO and lost 1100..... Oh well took a shot.

Had top set and str8 draw on turn vs just flush draw. Got in 70% of the money in here for $1500 pot. Villain binks and we lose our first buy in.

Lost 2nd buy in with 2nd set and king high FD vs Ace high FD and SD on turn.
Villain gets there.

Who says there is a ton of variance in PLO???

Went to 1/2 NLHE and grinded $300 back.

I didnt get a ton of hours in this week. We had a ton of family stuff going on but I am leaving for Tampa tomorrow so, it will be back to the grindstone for a full week.

Playing the $150 buy in Little Slick and grinding 1/2 the entire time. I have placed myself on PLO probation until BR is 10k.

Good luck.

I, too, have placed myself on 'PLO probation' for the time being as a rec player. Good call, it'll help.

How'd you do in the Little Slick? I played it Thursday at 3pm. Down to the final three tables and blinds at 1K/2K with I believe a 300 ante.

Guy who has raised the last 4-5 pots raises to 4K, I look down at AK and shove for my 35K.

He calls, I flip my cards and he says "good" (not that my hand is good, but that he's happy I have that hand) and then flips over AQ ?

Binks the Q right on the flop and I'm out 23rd/119 for that session. I guess that's what I get for rivering a straight against a slow-played set of Aces earlier that night.

Ouch.... Saw that a lot. The tourney played very loose. Many players just sitting down and getting it in super light. I will post in a minute with all of my results.

Alright guys,
I had a great time in Tampa for the week.

Played 36 hours of 1-2 NLHE
Played 8 hours of 3-6 O8 with a full kill
and 26 hours of tourney time.

As for The Little Slick, it was an amazing turnout. With 11 starting times, they more than doubled the guarantee. I think it was 216k total prizepool.

The top 9 or 10 chopped for roughly $14k each.

I bought in 6 times.
4 of these, I got it in good each time
Top 2 vs FD
Top and bottom vs FD
Set vs Gutshot SD/FD (for 100k chips)
AA (Hero) vs KK (for 150k chips)
1 buyin I got it in bad set over set.

The last one, I bagged 87k for day 2.

I finished 60th for a cash of $485

I was very happy with my play overall. At one point on day 2, I had over 400k in chips and was the table chip leader. I ran JJ into KK for half of my stack and at that point, each blind steal was 60k ...... No major errors. The tournament on day 2 was super fast. After the bubble burst, the chip average remained 12-15 BB. I would have liked to see longer levels on day 2 or maybe adjust the structure to allow for more play.

I had much better luck in the cash games. I will update those tomorrow.

Thanks for the support and good luck.

Ouch, some sick beats for sure. I was shooting to go into Day 2 with 120K, looks like you had some good shots at making that happen but variance kicked you in the jimmy

Yep. Overall pretty happy with my play though. Day 2 after bubble I was able to more than quadruple my stack.

The last hand, there was 600k in the pot with 10k/20k blinds. I was a 40/60 dog but had I won, even with the fast structure I would have had a legit shot at the final table.

Update for cash in Tampa......

Played 36 hours of 1/2.

Starting max was $300 and the straddle from any position made this game very juicy.....
I recorded 8 sessions and profited $2050.
I had one losing session ($390).

I will post one hand here and live low stakes today and one each for the next few days..

Max value with monster.......

HERO is in BB $500 stack.
Villain is 50 year old British guy in SB ($300 behind). Talking about Rugby and plays like he just read super systems. Waiting on big hands and betting like he is on high stakes poker.

Straddle ($4) on button. SB Villain raises to $30 HERO calls with 22.

All others fold. Heads up to the flop

Flop 2 2 3 Two hearts ($64)

Villain bets $50.

I am inclined to call here a good percentage of the time but if he has 88-QQ, there are a good enough amount of scare cards that slows him down. I decided to raise to $125.
Villain calls.

Turn King c.

Villain checks.
(High hand is already going to 4 jacks, so not in consideration of the play here)

HERO ????

HERO ????

Villian already has half his stack in the middle here. If he had more I'd say "same bet" and bet $125 and hope he sees that as weakness and comes over the top.

In this instance, it's possible the K hit him and it's also possible he's on TT-QQ and the K might scare him. I'd lead towards a check behind and see if we can't get him to lead the river first to act. And if he doesn't, we're shoving anyway because it may look like a bluff to him and he's trying to catch us bluffing.

Back to the limpfest AKA Cincy Horseshoe.

Pulled a 9 hour session in 1/2 today. Made $300 when it was all said and done.
Played fairly well. I doubled up pretty early and then the game got interesting.
Check out this hand.....

Super Loose Super Aggro player shows up to my right. I have played with him a couple of times. Plays somewhat straightforward postflop. He is down $400 at this point and by the end of the night has lost 1k.... In this hand, he has $150.

2nd Limp raising Villain just showed up and has $200. Never played with him before.

2 Limps. Super loose Villain is on button and raises to $15.
HERO in BB and has JJ.

I feel like a call is not terrible here. It does entice the other limpers to come along but, I feel as if I can play effectively postflop. Raising also obviously has merits.

I decide to flat.

The first limper folds then the 2nd limper raises to $45. The super aggro guy calls $45..

Jam?????
Flat?????

Considering stack sizes, I think a jam is best here. Of course, limp reraise screams AA, I think this looks fishy....

Played the $400 BI $50k gtd. today at Cincy Horseshoe. I won free entry in this earlier in the month. Played for 4 hours and busted in 85th place. Total of 175 entries. Top prize was $15k.

Took the rest of the day off to hang with fam and watch the Pac/May Fight tonight.

Looking at a full session tomorrow.

Tuesday and Thursday Next week.... Thinking of hitting the road and playing at Horseshoe Southern Indiana. 1/2 with Mississippi Straddle and $500 max buyin is calling my name. They are also splashing the pot.............

I will throw an update tomorrow when before I hit the sack.....

Took the rest of the week off. Looking at BRAVO and saw that Maryland Live is running $2500 High Hands on Monday and Wed. Heading out for the 8 hour drive Tuesday night. I will have an update around Friday.........

Had some plans to play this last week and this week in Baltimore for the $2500 high hand but I had a good friend pass away unexpectedly and have been dealing with this for a while.

From a logistical standpoint, Baltimore is going to be a tough go. The promotion days are Mon and Wed. Considering my family situation, I think it would be better to just take 2 weeks a month and play in Florida. The other 2 weeks play at Horseshoe Cincy.

Planning on the next trip or later this week or next week.

Good luck...

Alright guys.....

Drove the 2 hours to Horseshoe Southern Indiana yesterday. I had played there only once before. The walk from parking is a beast so I guess if I play there more often I will get in super good shape...

They had a splash the pot promo. I got nothing in it but 2 items were given at my table. Beats Headphones and an custom Denny Crum Tourney Ipad.

Pretty sweet prizes.

The game is 1/2 $300 max with Mississippi Straddle. Just like Tampa. However, these players weren't using the straddle much. Pretty straightforward.

No one is folding any draws. Even after blank turn cards.

Got stuck around $600 in 1/2 and when the game died down I took a break and played 1/2 PLO with $5 straddle from winner of previous pot (first I heard of this).

Did very well and racked a 1k profit in that game. 2 holdem players made contributions drawing dead and only 1 other solid player at the table.

I will post a couple of my holdem hands that gave me fits later today.

Plans as of now...... Grind up some 1/2 at Cincy Horseshoe this weekend and prep for South Florida trip later this month...

I think I would have raised on the flop to like $65.

As played we don't have any reads on the villain, but against most players at this level I feel like this is an easy shove for value.
