Another Nits 60 day challenge! Another Nits 60 day challenge!

11-03-2016 , 06:35 PM
Hello everyone and welcome to my PGC thread. I decided to make a little 60 day challenge for myself and I am going to document how it goes here.

Right now I grind poker as a second income. I have a full time job but I still take poker seriously and try to play as much as I can. I have played micro - small stakes for a quite a while now and done alright for myself. Right now I currently playing on a few different sites and play stakes ranging from 20-100nl FR.

The last few months my volume and the amount of time I spend studying has become less and less and I can feel my game slipping. This is why I decided to make a challenge for myself. Here are my goals for the next 60 days:

1. 80k hands played.
2. 3k profit.

I also decided to do a 60 day challenge that is fitness related too. If you're interested you can check that out over here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/85...s-log-1637297/

Lets get this bad boy started!

DAY 1/60

HANDS PLAYED: 2175 / 80000
PROFIT: $160.86 / $3000

Day 1 is in the books. Managed to find some decent games even though I was without one of the sites I play on yesterday. Made getting the volume in a bit harder. Hopefully I will get resolved sometime today but we will see. The site that I cant play on right now is asking me to verify the status of my instadebit account which is the method I used to deposit on the site. Until then I cant play. Pretty annoying honestly but just need an email back from instadebit and we will be good to go on that site again.

I thought overall yesterday I played pretty well. Won a pretty nice hand at 100nl which really helped. 100nl games on the sites I play on have been pretty meh so far this month. Other than that I just chipped away for most of the day and tried my best to only be in good games. Heres the monster from yesterday:

DAY 2/60

HANDS PLAYED: 3324 / 80000
PROFIT: $417.62 / $3000

Day 2 is complete. Hitting a little heat lately and finding some amazing games. Cant believe some of the things I saw at the tables yesterday. Unfortunately my computer started having issues. Blue screened 2x during yesterdays session so I ended up calling it a day early and didnt reach my 2k hands / per day goal so we are a bit behind schedule right now with that.

I managed to get all my problems sorted out with the other poker site that I play on. After 3 days of emailing back and forth were back in action. This will really help out with the volume each day.

Going to do some work on my HU game today before the grind. Ive really been enjoying starting tables lately and when you play on small traffic sites starting tables is just massively +EV. Nothing better than having a fish all to yourself instead of sharing it with 7 other people right?

See you guys tomorrow!

DAY 3 / 60

HANDS PLAYED: 6524 / 80000
PROFIT: $341.64 / $3000

A little late on this update. Took Friday / Saturday off from poker, had a lot of stuff going on. Just getting ready to start up a Sunday grind here so I thought Id go over a few things and do an update before I started things off.

My last session wasnt a winning one but I feel like I learned quite a bit this session and really like what I have been seeing. This session was the first full session I got to play on the new site that I added in. I REAAAALLLLY like what I saw at those tables. Traffic and game selection isnt great but I saw some really fishy stuff going on there so its looking promising.

I also was really happy with how long I was able to grind this session. I played for about 9 hours straight. Im finding it easier and easier to put in these long sessions. Taking a quick 5-10 minute break to walk around and clear my head every 2 hours is the trick for me.

Anyways, things are going pretty well so far. Going to keep up the hard work and hope that my results will represent how hard Ive worked at the end of this. See you guys soon. Big sunday grind coming up. LETS GO!

DAY 4/60

HANDS PLAYED: 11252 / 80000
PROFIT: $520 / $3000

Yesterday was quite the Sunday grind. The day started terribly. I was playing very poorly and paid for it big time. The rest of the day was an uphill battle to get unstuck. Im glad I played through it all and made nice comeback.

I think one of the main reasons my play suffered so much at the beginning of yesterdays session because I didnt go through all of the prep to get warmed up that I usually do. By the time I start most of my sessions I have already put in a few hours studying poker and my mind is ready to play. Yesterday I woke up, showered, ate and then hit the tables for 11 hours lol. No prep just all grinding. Took me a while to get in the zone and I ended up paying for it with poor play. I have to remember that proper preparation prevents poor performance.

New week starts today and I plan on absolutely killing it this week. I have a ton of work today so I better at it. Hope everyone has a good week. LETS DO THIS!

DAY 5/60

HANDS PLAYED: 12920 / 80000
PROFIT: $635.41 / $3000

Yesterday was a really busy day for me. Mondays I usually have the most crap to do. I try to plan out my week and get every big task for the week I have to do done on Monday so I can have more time during the rest of the week to put in big sessions. So far Id say my time management has been pretty average, not great and that I can for sure be more efficient if I make an effort to pick up the pace a bit. I do a lot of time wasting right now

Yesterdays session started a lot later than Id hoped. I planned on starting my grind much earlier than I did but I ended up going to a friends place to watch the Monday night football game and to see a few buddies I haven't seen in a while there. It was good catching up with them. When I got home I was itching to play. I found some really good tables and played well. I sailed past my daily 2k hands goal and booked a nice little win. I could have easily played a few more hours but I had to get some sleep before work.

I signed up for Runitonce again today. I like some of the changes that they have added to the video archives. I really like the learning paths that they added. It helps find videos better suited towards the specific area in your game you are trying to work on. Im going to go through them today and path out which videos I am going to watch this week to help work on a few spots that I know are giving me issues lately. Really looking forward to this.

Thats all guys. Lets get to work!

DAY 6/60

HANDS PLAYED: 12920 / 80000
PROFIT: $1004 / $3000

Damn son, hitting some serious heat this week. The 50nl games that Ive been playing in have been insanely good. Anyways, part of this graph is from the previous update because the sessions by date overlap. Still a huge day. The come down from this heat is going to suck I feel like I am also playing pretty well too so we'll see what happens. Just going to keep putting in the work.

I was browsing some of my subscribed threads and I went back and started reading a pretty crazy PGC thread from 2013 that made me feel insanely lazy.
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...n-mil-1281937/

He didnt complete the 8x SNE in a year but he did smash Hyper SNGS with hard work and dedication. If this is the level of work it takes to be at the top, we all have a long way to go. :P

I know most of you will already have read this one but to me, its the best PGC to date. The mighty OtB_RedBaron's thread. I like to read it and try and figure out what the hell is going on in some of the hands. The guys just a beast.
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...lenge-1245943/

If you guys have any favorite PGC threads let me know. Im always looking for a good read. I have today off so I am going to put in a huge grind. I might even blast a few MTT's. I barely play donkaments but one of the sites I play on has a little series going on and I have a bunch of points to spend so maybe we can bink one today. Lots of work to do before that though so Im going to get to it. Have a good one folks!
