I was digging around on pocketfives and noticed someone from my city (ottawa) killing the mtt game on pokerstars up over 200k this year. I googled his gamertag (jughead11) and got a pokernews page with his name on it. I then searched his name on facebook and got an account of a middle-aged hockey dad that did actually kinda fit the profile of humble dad grinder on a heater. I cliked the "hello" button, which is the first time ive done that. Kinda made me feel like the clown from IT during the sewer scene for some reason so that will be my last hello click incidentally. I also sent him a congratulations on his recent 150k score and asked if he was open to networking/coaching.
This came directly after buying into 25nl zoom with the entire remains of my withered stars bankroll after an extremely frustrating day (80% uni, 10% poker, 10% permanent life tilt) and went busto with top set. Losing $7 never hurt so much. I wanted to barrel into my apartment walls with all my fiery rage but being that there are already 3 watermelon sized holes my landlord is still unaware of, i didnt want to push my luck so i just paced around to calm down.
I just cant sit down and grind online poker by myself its too dull and depressing. Im far more comfortable/able to focus in a live setting where i do have decent results however i never gave online poker a real chance for this reason. Being able to shadow a really good player might give me the inspiration to really try again so i had to reach out. I have one friend that does ok but ive really never had the opportunity to talk to someone any good or serious about nl so if any of you want to holler at me show me your graph or just get in touch feel free im still new to the forum
