Will post some hands, aim is to move up from 2nl through the stakes, learning, practicing good brm. Hopefully doing this will make 2nl a bit more interesting. Gonna do 15 buyins for 2nl and 5nl, 20 buyins or more for 10nl+, will review when I get there.
Playing mostly on party to start with, so stats will be a bit limited.

Played just a few hands, on one table and made $1.94, definitely be more volume tomorrow will at most be 6 tabling, 2-4 my most comfortable though.



meh hand, guy to my right was flatting a lot, and didn't seem good post.. so 5max felt it ok to open this.



Decided not to 3bet due to BTN sizing and that he's short. Didn't take the sizing as too telling of strength as seemed fairly bad pre. Happy with my river sizing, based on the player, jq obviously raises, other than that more stuff calls thats losing than is winning imo.

I'll do daily graphs and then a weekly one.

Biggest hand -



Debated different sizing on river, he didn't 3b and donked flop so very likely he connected and doesn't have big pp's that could barrel then bf river, so went for shove.



2nd biggest losing hand. he 2x opens then min 4bets, don't encounter that too much, with his short stack I guess I decided to cap out QQ-AA. So was happyish to gii. Maybe I could bet smaller otf, not entirely sure what to think about that. Don't mind my play though.

Played a few more hands, roll now $35.50. anyway 2 hands..



1/2 pot on river from v suggests to me he's merging bluff and thin value, so went for overbet bluff. Rarely make moves like this at this stake but did feel right due to a few factors.



Gotta assume one of the others had ax, which is all I'm worried about from the short stack really, any t,q,k gets it in earlier, so the t on river didn't scare me so much, this is based on how ss was playing anyway, he just looking to take any pot down or leave the table. I like my call here.

2 sessions, first playing 9 tables for some dumb reason, then on 2 tables with nothing going my way. Played some hands really badly.. Happy I was disciplined and stopped anyway.



Raised bigger over the limpers because in sb, maybe a bit smaller is better. Flop maybe can b/f... but it doesn't seem right.. would like some insight on this hand.



This hand vs guy I have played most at 2nl party. He's a TAG pretty much.. can't say I've ever seen him getting out of line. There's always the perception of bvb range weakness, possibly folding to 4b pre is right here, just hoping for ak at that point really..



can't see myself folding river, don't expect to see play like this.. but then xr bluffs are rare at 2nl so maybe should find fold here..




Worst hand. If I do bet flop I think I should bet smaller, around 1/3. Not sure I should bet flop. Guy was quite aggr.. I dunno if flatting bb isn't too bad here.. uhh..



v dug his grave here I think.. if you got a flush (and likely nuts) on flop you probably just call, so not really scared of that.

Flatted from SB to not inflate pot vs UTG who was playing badly post. Could have attacked his Kx hands with a bigger size on river.

Done some work on 3betting from blinds, differences vs positions, stacks and amount of players. Also just trying to get more thoughts more pronounced, categorizing bets into bluffs or value more accurately.

Biggest non-cooler loss from last few hands:



FD's definite area for work. On reflection I think I like my sizing.. over and a gk so good equity so am happy to gii. Following minraise, I know if I shove there's very small chance of a fold, and shoving fd's I think works because of the fold equity, but because of their stack size just seems not great for me to flat.

1 interesting hand:



Pre: few reads on v but passive tendencies.

Flop: Like floating here, v be cbetting huge amount.

Turn: I think v will still continue a sizable amount here, if he has no K then my 3bet is very difficult for him, and my line makes sense for kx thus far.. he flats which is telling.

River: 6 and he checks, I think 6x bet least on flop vs most combos.. kx 4bets turn mostly. so have strong feeling looking at 8x, sds, lots of pp's (admittedly my logic of 6x on flop continuing would have to apply to some of those also, based on v's tendency). So I like 2/3 pot, based on his stack, his line and his tendencies..

Think I should have bet turn bigger for protection, I thought about that at the time, but was in split minds.

Had crazy lagfish, shoving pre often on table, he was to my left, other players weren't really trying to iso him so I tried my best but it went horribly wrong. Two hands that illustrate his play and also how badly it went for me.



Then this hand that I could possibly get away from.



Fair play to him I guess he put me in frustrating spots and left the table for 500bbs. Generally prefer to take lower variance spots, cos I think at 2nl so many spots come up where you can realise your edge over a player, but because this player was playing so badly I decided to just go for it.
Took a day off after it. Pleased with my approach to mental game, which is so much more important than I've appreciated in past.
