I have been quiet on poker front - I tried online poker .. swing up .. aaaand swing down.. time for pause..

Then one of yearly local festivals.. helsinki freezeout.. played 3 days > breakeven, sigh. short pause with rl stuff.. then back to tables..

hour or more waiting then
plo 2.5e/2,5e was standard dry table.. marginal up..
then they opened plo 20e/20e .. interesting looking and one seat open.. change please? thank you!

This is the deep end of the pool for me. .. focus .. stay sharp..

I buy in for ~min.. 50bb = 1000e. I lose my first buy in when I get all in with ok hand in ok spot but cards do not fall my way. (or so I remember it)

I consider a short buyin (500e) but opt for min full.. 1000e .. grind up a bit (~1500e) when I get it all in on flop. rainbow, no pair, I have nut straight and redraws to bigger straights. Villain hits 4 outer for split.....

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH.HHhhhhhh...... I screem inside.. hours of bidding my time, waiting for the spot and then I get cheated out of my victory! (wing commander reference)

It is a hard job to pull my sh*t together.. orbit.. two.. three.. the anger subides.. (or maby not)..

I get tangled up in action.. I call a raise pf with 789tr .. c pot .. original raiser calls ..

I have to put in ~800 to see flop with pot of 3k or 4k .. I opt to calll .. (opinions on this? I was left with 1200-1500 after call)

flop is 357r .. check, I check, bet 2k+, fold, call.. I call for 1200-1500 (opinions?) .. I guess the call might be -ev but escalation of commitment hits me .. I can not keep folding my money away!

I root for 6.. and 6 hits on the turn.. river dose not help villains.. I drag in 7+k pot !!

too much money on the table.. but table has been friendly towards me so I opt to keep playing.. ~7K in front of me.. 10+% of my br..


later.. I am in early position.. I limp AAxxss active and better than me play raise on my left. call , call, pot for AI folds to me...

I am deep with player on my left. I pot to isolate for 3k or so.. .. he thinks and calls.. fuuuuuuuuck!!

flop is low cards rainbow.. no flopped straigh possible.. I pause to think for a sec.. I push ai for remaining 3-4k.. short pause.. call... fuuuuuucckkkkk meee double..

turn and river are dealt.. I can not recall the cards.. I meekly declare and open up my AAxx .... to collect the pot shortly after..

Later villain on my left says I was in fairly good shape on flop as my danglers blocked outs for my villain & some cards would end up in splits.

I dragged in 15k pot!! .. couple of orbits later two players left the table so I took my que and exited shortly. way too much eff money in front of me for me to play correctly..

It is a bit unreal feeling.. I have just banked in price of small no thrills NEW car in a single session!!! I must have done something right tough luck was a huge factor in the session!

I have taken pause from active poker scene due to diminished capacity to play.

While I have known that chronic pain has lowered my cognitive capacity quite a bit for a long while.. I was still able to play in 2015. During 2016 .. fairly big red flags popped up.

Fairly sad outlook for future
It looks like I will not be able to reach my goal.. (now around half way to orginal goal (== no inflation adjustment)
.. and I would not be able to handle the buy/fix/build project required

I got to enjoy travel and seeing places I would not have seen. I got engaged in active hobby that was a good challenge. It has given me few opportunities to splurge cash on things that I felt important but could not really justify spending money from my savings.

Looking things from rl mental side.. I do believe it is very important for me to have this kind of 'extra' cash.. Now invested yet available to be more lightly spent if/when such spot presents itself.

So my poker roll is now bundled with my rl cash and ups and downs are only tracked on excel sheet.
