There's No Place Like Home
The return to my home state started off really well. I drove up here on Tuesday, threw the bags in the room and hit the felt for a quick session before dinner. In the first two orbits at the table I was already up 1k and finished up 2.5 BI after under 3 hours. Here are two of the hands from the first two orbits:

Hero's stack, folded to
Hero who calls,

Also played a little bit with actor James Woods:
So I finally got a little run good. Also had $40 free slot play and used it on a JoB machine and his this beaut:
Wednesday morning I played in Event 1 of the Borgata Winter Open. It was a $560 entry with a 2 million guarantee prize pool. I had what I was told was the toughest opening table in the entire tournament room but ended up running my 20k starting stack to 28k+ after the first break. After this I went super card dead and ended up busting in level 12. No more tournaments for me for a while. People are just super annoying taking minutes at a time to make the simplest of decisions early in the tournament. The temporary dealers are also SUPER bad and sometimes can't even make correct change from large denom chips which leads to a crazy low amount of hands per level which is the nut low when short stacked and card dead.
Back to cash.
Played 7 hours last night with this hand coming in my first orbit at my table:
Effective stacks ~470
Preflop ($7):
Hero is in the BB with K
K
HJ opens for 25,
CO and
BTN call,
Hero raises to 150,
CO calls.
Flop ($352): 9
5
2
Hero shoves for 320,
CO calls.
Turn ($992): A
River ($992): 5
CO shows 9
9
Sick call pre brah.
BTN announced he folded QQ and I immediately decided this table wasn't for me and switched to a much better table. I ended up grinding back to even for the night slowly and surely. Here's a pretty entertaining hand from about half way through the session:
Effective stacks ~505, I cover
Preflop ($7):
Hero is UTG+1 with K
J
Hero opens for 25, 4 callers.
MP3 and I had been battling for a while at this point with me just bet, bet, betting him to death with value hands and he had been making some remarks about how aggressive I was. One hand I put my hand on my stack to cbet and he just instamucked. I knew it was a matter of time before he tried to play back at me.
Flop ($127): J
8
6
Hero bets 80,
MP3 raises to 180 total, folded to
Hero who shoves,
MP3 calls.
Turn ($~1085): 7
River (~1085): 2
I announce my hand and
MP3 snap turns over K
Q
Ooooooook?
That's it for this update. The night games here are really good so I'm going to put in a pretty long session tonight (and pretty much every night). The one thing I love about Borgata is how bright it is in comparison to MDL. Super easy to stay awake and alert for long sessions here. Will update in another couple of days with cash game progress.
